imo i think the expression you were confused about was supposed to show that Vi was trying to make a snarky joke like her usual defence mechanism, but she was so upset at the thought of losing her that her attempt to smile kinda became a grimace
8:30 it's actually both. It obviously can be read as "Vi" but it is also the roman numeral 6, which is made up of the symbols for 5 and 1. Vi's inmate number at Stillwater was 516, crazy how every little thing was thought of. EDIT: realized after posting that a few people already beat me to it. I'll leave my comment up in case anyone likes the way I worded it but you should definitely go like the comments of the people who pointed this out before me :)
27:20 all the music is made to picture! Its scored like a traditional movie film, only with pop songs performed by popular artists, rather than more traditional songs performed by an orchestra. If you're curious about the making of, they have a series called "Bridging the rift" on youtube! 5 episodes each focusing on different parts of the creation of the show! Would recommend it! Might make good videos even!
The way I see Mel is that in the beginning of season 1, she was absolutely and intentionally manipulating Jayce. She saw a naive idealist who she could bend to further her own goals. Even as early as Jayce's trial, when Jayce is trying to take Heimerdinger's advice and hiding his interest in magic, Mel digs at his pride with lines like "So your research was meaningless" to get him to crack and admit what he was really doing. Later, she uses Jinx's theft of the gemstone to get Jayce on the council. She doesn't actually care about Hextech Security, or at least, not nearly as much as the idea of having an extra vote that she can probably rely on whenever she needs. We see her do this when she gives the toy puzzle to Councilor Hoskel and then gives him a pointed look to join her side in a vote. She also blindsides Jayce with the council seat AND THEN confronts him with the price of it: that he is now a political target and it's only through her guidance that he can navigate these new dangerous waters. The flip comes later when her mother, Ambessa, arrives. It's a reality check for her. She was blinded by her own ambition and saw Piltover and its people as pawns for her advancement until she sees her mother and has nightmares about her childhood. Nightmares where Ambessa is the one that taught her that ambition and family are absolutely worth the cost of the lives of others, even whole nations. Mel's arc in season 1 is realizing that she doesn't want to be that kind of leader and turning her back on her mother's teachings and her own earlier motivations. It's too late, of course, but that's why she's so sympathetic in this season.
I got sevika all wrong, watch that scene again where she chooses to kill finn. She said “not for a worm like him” so her loyalty is absolutely waning towards silco and if he did a vander (aka betray the lanes by choosing to not fight) she would easily find someone else to protect. She is very similar to Vi but doesn’t have that family bond that Vi has. Always wants to fight. I personally love sevika, very good character
Love your reactions!!! if you ever run out of shows to watch, try 86, one of my favorites. Also the previews are not going to spoil her guys, they are vague so a first time watcher doesn't know what each scene is

just wait till she gets to ep 6.... holy hell im still tearing up
@34:00 I kind of believe Cait there. She shot the gun out of Isha's hand and if you think about it when have we ever seen her miss? She's extremely accurate. I don't think Isha was ever in any danger here.
Her bullet goes where she aims, but things can move in the way. In the game Caitlyn's ultimate ability allows her to shoot at an enemy with one hundred percent accuracy for big damage, never missing. However, if another player stands in between her and her target they'll get hit instead (which can be done strategically if she's targeting a greatly weakened/important character). So while game Caitlyn's ultimate ability means she never misses the spot she's aiming for that doesn't mean that she'll hit the target. So if it was just Jinx? Yeah, Caitlyn would have hit the shot easy. But with Isha flailing around and Jinx trying to push her away there was no way she could 100% guarantee she wouldn't have hit Isha.
That „dont say it“ scene was a HUGE missed opportunity for a use of the office scene where Michael isnt allowed to make any jokes, including „thats what she said“
I was putting off ending watching the rest of season 2 because I didn't want it to be over but now I have to watch the rest to keep up with your reactions 😭 1:10 but yes I feel like Mel is very intelligent and had to learn early on to play the game of politics, especially because she doesn't have the strength/military strategy her mom and brother have (but as the season goes on I feel like Ambessa is a lot smarter than she was originally portrayed as)
Loving this series of reactions, I much prefer you style of reactions, I much prefer the more laid back but enthusiastic reaction to the high energy reactions that a lot of reactors do. I cannot wait to see the next episodes with you
I love the music in Season 1, but in Season 2 it's on another fucking level. Also, I cried about 2-3 times in S1. S2, I think I cried in 6 out of the 9 episodes. Weeee.
I love your reactions, but I think the reason you love Powder/Jynx so much is because you see yourself in her. The violence inside you needs an outlet. Maybe you should take up some type of martial arts to let out some of that violent energy. Therapy does wonders too!....lol...but I'm so sincere.
My school when I was younger had a mandatory sign language class because we had a deaf classmate! But I only remember a little (the beginning of the alphabet, thank you, more, and a few others)
I love this series but I definitely feel like it suffered from a lack of political fluency on the part of the writers, if that makes sense. It's beautifully put together but it really does not handle the extreme class disparities and semicolonial extractive relationship between Piltover and Zaun with the level of consideration I would have liked to have seen.
@geenahreads Alright then, if I offer to spoil the end of the serie for you right now, just because it's available, would you take it? Or would you show some restraint and watch it yourself?
@@geenahreads I'm guessing you don't watch much anime, because those are a prime example of 'don't watch the previews or you'll get spoiled'. yeah exactly. An awkward forced smile that she couldn't keep up falling into a grimace of worry.
Sevika in Season 1 was always gambling so the fact that jinx made a weapon specifically because she loves gambling is everything to me.
The change in their relationship is pretty cool

LOL. Great react. You were nailing the plot. Love this show.
Fun fact:
The backgrounds of the funeral scene were entirely hand-drawn with charcoal
It’s never the wrong time for a “That’s what she said”. The situation only affects how loud it should be said.

Pretty sure Caitlyn's "I won't" was more "I won't promise" than "I won't change"
