"Spin The Wheel" is my favourite song of the show and I'm so happy to hear such an excellent cover of it! I'm genuinely impressed how you can keep focus on playing guitar, harmonica and singing AT THE SAME TIME and how smooth the transitions were. Heimerdinger would be so proud, thank you :)
Go spin the wheel and see where it lands Join in the circus, stay for a dance, and Right when the war quiets down, ya strike up the band Keep marching on, my friends And do what you can Wait 'til your brothers and your sisters, see where you been And if you loved the journey more than the end, go ahead Just turn that hourglass around and count to ten This ain't goodbye no more Nah, it just began March on, my friends Whoa-oh-oh, oh Whoa-oh-oh-oh, oh Go and make some mistakes, you live and you learn And where the chips fall, it's not your concern, nah Like the wind gonna breeze, the fires'll burn Just let the gears, my friend Oh, just let the gears, my friend Let 'em turn
I'm so glad UA-cam recommended this to me. You've got such a BEAUTIFUL voice and the harmonica really brings it all together. Keep marching on, my friend!
mmmyes indeed if I do say so myself. I love my Harley Benton. Except for the absolute dogshit tuning machines I really can't complain. Going strong for just over 2 years now. It hasn't let me down.
I'm a banjo player just picking up harmonica, and I've had a hard time figuring which key of harmonica I need to play this tune. I know the original tune is in Ab, but I'm finding the Ab major harmonica isn't giving me the right chords. I have an entire set of them, but could use a push in the right direction.
@@romainduffard6015 Try playing a Db harmonica in 2nd position (key of Ab) where the draw chord will be Ab. That's what I'm doing here, except I'm playing a whole step lower than the original, so it's a B harmonica in 2nd position (key of F#/Gb) in my case. Playing in 2nd position is what I'm accustomed to and it allows for some juicy bends, but 1st position (e.g. Ab harmonica in the key of Ab) makes it a lot easier to hit all the notes from the original melody. My harmonica part somewhat loosely follows the original melody. I can go into a lot more detail here cause I'm a nerd about this stuff, but I think this should be enough to help you. Thanks for the feedback!
@@zvonerstoner Thanks so much. When I got my set, I read about cross tunings, but it went over my head at the time! (I’m used to learning from the tonic with piano, guitar, etc.) After sending my message to you I’ve been attempting to make chromatic bends on my diatonic reeds, but they’re so much more challenging than I anticipated. I hope to one day get on your level where I can play my instruments at the same time, but I’ve realized harmonica fundamentals are way harder than I thought. Almost got a chromatic one, but I want to do both at the same time. Thank you for the response! I will be following you in the future.
Thank you! I put the guitar chords in another comment's reply and I will paste them in the video description as well so you can check them out. There are some relatively simple embellishments here and there but you can just freestyle those. Cheers!
