For me its the song - I can't not tear up listening to this rendition of the song and the gravity behind luffy's words here, which are basically a death sentence for 1+ persons.

When I saw this episode for the first time and heard Luffy say "Well, that's how you are," it really hit me. Sanji has been my favorite character since his introduction back in episode 20. I didn't really know why I liked him. He had a nice smile and his attitude towards the others was funny. There was something magnetic about his character besides his fighting strength that I could never really put my finger on but now finally understood completely and utterly in this moment. It was kindness. Sanji is kind to a fault, which looking at his upbringing is something amazing yet heartbreaking. I immediately thought back to when Kuma was about to take Zoro's life in exchange for Luffy's and Sanji stepped in between them. Zoro was acting out of fierce loyalty which in itself is 100% admirable, but Sanji was acting on nothing but kindness. He would take the burden, he would give his life out of sheer kindness. He did the same in the Skypiea arc against Enel. Going back and rewatching with this perspective of how Sanji thinks, it astounded me on all the little stuff I never really paid attention to. The different motivations behind the different characters of One Piece is still something that surprises and amazes me to this day.

I love that about Luffy! He just has that kind of incredible magnetism and aura that when he says "This is how it will be" we all believe him.
He did pull it off though lol. Sanji saved his family and Luffy got the crew back together. Sanji even got invisibility upgrade
they both developed in this arc , sanji accepting himself who he is , and how much kindness he have , luffy becomes a true captain by not repeating the same mistake when he did with ussop by fighting with him , and understanding his crew
The Usopp situation was a bit tougher for Luffy. The fight was supposed to be about Merry, but Luffy knew it was about something else (which turned out to be Usopp thinking he's too weak to protect anyone including Merry, which they all consider a separate crew member). Usopp had to learn his strengths in Enies Lobby, where he discovered that he isn't a fighter, but a sniper. Usopp leaving and rejoining the crew was his problem, not Luffy's weakness as a captain.
Luffy's real mistake was that he was going to accept Usopp back into the crew without an apology, but Zoro sorted that out with everyone. He said if Usopp doesn't apologize, leave him behind. Usopp did apologize, so they took him along and Luffy's status as a good captain was maintained (even though they pretended to not hear all the other dumb shit Usopp said before apologizing lmao)

Maybe for the first time in his life, Sanji felt like he was told to his face that he was understood and it's ok to be himself. This whole arc Sanji was getting bashed for being all of the things he's known for and being manipulated for it--his machisimo, his pride as a cook, his childhood trauma/weakness--but Luffy and the Strawhats accept all of it. They see all of it but Luffy sees Sanji's core and says the words perhaps what Sanji wanted to hear most, "Well, that's how you are." He's not a pawn to be cast off by his family or a pawn to be used in a sham marriage alliance. He's just Sanji.

When you realise that Sanji cares for Zoro even though they fight all the time, he still cares for everyone in the crew
He already showed that many times (and vice versa), especially during the Kuma scene at Thriller Bark. Zoro offered to be sacrifice then Sanji offered to be sacrifice instead of Zoro, but Zoro put him to sleep. When he wakes up, he immediately came looking for Zoro.
Ironically he's portrayed as a simp who only care about girls but the people he saves most of the time are males, luffy is right, sanji is genuinely a good person
Zoro loves Sanji's cooking even though he doesn't want to admit it lol. They both respect each other immensely.

It's not toxic, the only ones who are toxic are the fans who keep comparing them. Like they don't even have same interest or qualities. Zoro is a swordsman, Sanji is a cook. Zoro uses swords, Sanji fights with his legs. We can't compare them literally. But if overall strength then Zoro is above Sanji. However, when it comes to writing.. Sanji's character has more depth than Zoro (not saying that Zoro is not a good character. It's just that Sanji has more development and layers in his character). That's why I don't know why they are always compared to. Like Just enjoy the show man, all straw hat crew members are unique on their own.
Sanji tries to act tough all the time but he is a kind person deep inside , it was hinted a lot since the beginning. Just rewatching One Piece after WCI made me look at Sanji in a different perspective. Damn u Oda

Luffy may not be smart, but he KNOWS his crew. He just knows when something is wrong, or when someone isn't speaking their mind. He takes beatings when he knows it's hurting them more than him. His loyalty and trust in his shipmates is S tier. I dunno if you can say the best, but he is ONE of the best Captains.

I love how Khan says we when he talks about the characters, its made me realize how big of a part of my life they are. I now say it too such an amazing story to be able to make me feel these things. Ive never had this with any other story only close second is naruto.
