Oh my heart burns Why Why . people have to be going through these abuse. Lord Jesus help them please. Oh my!!oh my my tears flow for them.help them Lord
thank you for the doc, it really shows that these issues and problems are not only tied to one religion, or a specific race of people. It is all across the globe and we have to come together to end it, By The Will of GOD
Some of the African women should stop feeling helpless and break off from men who subjugate them. They can do well without these men. As women support each other to be economically sufficient :(
While I agree.. I don't think it's a feeling, but an actual imprisonment which produces the helplessness. What are these girls and women to actually do? There is no respectable infrastructure to hear their voices or protect them in those dire times. I hesitate to bet these communities shun outsiders as much as possible, as to restrict women from seeking help.
I just wonder to when is enough ENOUGH so that these young girls and women of same experiences organise themselves and deliberately seek justice. I know women and children at are the majority and they could use these tyranny of numbers to end male supremacy ideologies. I haven't even incleded the big number of men who are as disheartened by these retrogression. I saw some great men in that video who are opposed to these violence against women. Hope they too could mobilize similar fellow men. :(
I couldn't say, I'm not cultured enough on the African Nations to know what the general mentality is there when it comes to women. One can only hope that when that day comes, they do so through giving women who are trapped, the option to make informed decisions and actions on Their Lives. Though I think that day is quite far away.. and I would imagine these more dedicated tribes or villages will isolate themselves even further to protect their way of thinking. But Idc.. it's backwards to mutilate another person, or think you can own them/sell them off. I understand it's how we "did" stuff back in the day.. so perhaps the only way to combat that without violence is to bring support to these communities so their parents don't feel cornered into utilizing such an "option".
The truth is....African women are still a bit brainwashed about what they should accept in some parts of the culture, even the educated culture. An African coworker in Africa told me she divorced her husband and went on to get a teaching certificate and even though her own family supported her she was called a whore. I am sure this is still the case. Even in America if you were a woman with a brain and could think for yourself from the 60's on you were still harassed and talked about. Educated women in Africa want more and even then many cannot get more because of lack of jobs for employment. When I was in Africa 95% of the women were the farmers in the family and fed the family and sold their crops for money ...the men were into other businesses, but the hardest part was still on the woman to farm and raise the children. I had enough of a time in the 60's as a divorced working mom and had to become a snob towards men especially to get through the hard times of the 60's ad 70's. With the worlds global marketplace, women in America and other first world countries are becoming more like targets again because the marketplace wants to subjugate women. I am not happy with the USA or its men....
Pamela Tracy Such a true story. It's the same thing with sexual abuse. The women I know who went through this have told me that whoever they told didn't believe them or called them whores. Horrifying situation...
Young people in australia and places like that should thank their lucky stars that they are able to go to school gat theyre not forced to leave school, and be forced into marriage they should be very thankful that they live in a safe place like australia where forced child marriage is illegal
The same as cape town south africa u see a beautiful city but while in our back yards its a war zone and the are constant gang voilence and gender based violence
I'm Tanzanian and what I say is what I've heard from other women and girls I used to live with; FGM can be a form of castration. A mild or sometimes fatal form. Mild in such that they remove the clitoris, thereby preventing the women from feeling any sort of pleasure during sexual intercourse. This is much more extreme compared circumcision. And circumcision is performed as a way to prevent men from easily procuring sexually transmitted diseases. Besides, isn't circumcision done when one can barely process extreme feelings? These girls experienced this when they were older! It's a horrible thing. It's what motivated my nightmares as a little girl, and it should be stopped!
Girls over here in australia dont realize how lucky they are to be able to go to school and have their freedom cos girls in poor countries may never be able to go to school at all so aussie girls should take full advantage of the opportunity that having a decent education can create no gbv
Kids over here should thank their lucky stars that they have got the opportunity to go to school cos lots of kids overseas dont have the chance to go to school cos of poverty or very hard circumstances so kids over here in australia dont know theyre alive
Gurls over here in australia take their education for granted, they dont theyre alive, girls in poor countries would give their right arm to be able to get an education, girls in australia should be thanking their lucky stars that they are able to go to school at all let alone be free of fgm cos lots of girls in africa dont have that freedom, theyre forced to endure fgm and child marriage the poor souls
What a sad video to watch. No pleasure at all for these women. Such a sad life. And year after year they sit on the ground......eating with hands.....putting their sh.t in a hole in the ground. Unbelievable !!!!
Tanzania Should follow Kurdistan's Lead, FGM Is mostly used by the Kurdish People that live in Villages. Kurdistan Banned FGM because it was Considered Abuse and I think that Human Rights Watch did a Documentary on that I think

It is in the hands of us who love Africa and Africans to stand against some of the ill-practices of our culture. Our sisters deserve better...

They are both in Tanzania and Kenya. So you are not wrong at all.

Female genital mutilation is a crime against women, but Male genital mutilation is A-ok???
They are both crimes against humanity. No one has the right to mutilate another person body.

God gives every girl the opportunity to reach their full potential don't let it be destroyed by child marriage
