If you have any questions on your mill operation, hop on over to the Forestry Forum. Lots of owners there. I take care of Stanton's website and was the guy he sent to scope your channel out before you aired that first video, so I know first hand how his contacts exploded after you aired that first video. ;)
Thanks for commenting and helping get EZ Boardwalk behind us. Glad we could work together on this!
Aa
You should take "That FIRST BOARD" you made, and Wood Burn the Date into it and Mount it in your Garage/Shed!
Great 👍 idea!
Your excited enthusiasm really shows through and we can see why people want to be associated with you. I would suggest that at this present time there are not enough hours in a day. Good to see the big plan is coming together and enjoying the progress videos.
Hey Adam congrats on the new mill I am sure you will have many years of sawing with it you look like a natural. All the best.
Wow !!! So Good Man ! Way to go!!!! Glad for you and your family! Your heart is in the right place ! You methodically work towards your goal and you are so right! I follow you and it brings me such a joy to see you working and growing!
Looks like your mill has some simple great ideas built in. The hydraulic leveling jack , the lap siding jig and the lube shutoff are awesome. Thanks for your vids.
It’s great to see equipment that is based on simplicity. We as a nation have got used to all the bells and whistles when we buy purchase anything now a days. Of what I’ve found out when a machine is to complicated and you can’t handle it by yourself you end up using it less. I’m new to your channel thanks for all your hard work Dennis
Thanks for joining Dennis
Awesome Adam! Good thing you went and made the video of one of their mills in action!
After watching videos hundreds of times on different mills and setups by sawyers, I have concluded one thing. Once you have your mill set up and functioning, You should dedicate part of each day that you mill with sawing the needed lumber to build a shed for your mill and storing it near by so you can then build a good shelter for the mill!
I was about to post the same thing. I think a shed is a must, especially for a brand new sawmill as nice as this one..
You did it now!! You'll never be the same. Every tree you look at now. You'll be figuring how many board ft. In it😃
Very cool, Adam. Congratulations on your new partnership with EZ Boardwalk.
I saw a demo in 2020 in MT Hope Ohio.
I was sold on the simplicity as well and they are well built.
I asked them if they could build a bed that I could mill a 45' log, and they said absolutely, without hesitation.
I plan to build my dream 1850s log home with a mill and a broadax.
Great intro on the sawmill.
New subscriber :)
I just sold my hm126 sawmill and bought an EZ Boardwalk 40. It’s such a great mill!! Super impressed with the quality of the lumber it produces. Great content here on your channel.
cant wait to see you cut some lumber and build a protective housing for that beauty.
Really excited for this Adam. Always wanted to build an off grid cabin and do it all myself. Maybe someday!!! Keep up the good work. Guys like you are the reason our small business' continue to grow at such an exponential rate.
Thanks Andrew. Feelings are mutual. Appreciate all the support along the way. I think we got our 12-22 around November 2019 when we had 2,000 subscribers. You guys really took a chance on us. Glad we haven’t let you down
I love that simplicity as well! No frills just business!
That is a good looking mill, Adam. Looking forward to the upcoming milling videos. Time to start sketching up your firewood processing and sawmill building along with all of the other associated items for a firewood and milling operation.
Great to see you got the new mill. Winter will be busy with projects this year!
Thanks Adam that was a great video and congratulations on the new mill looks great and I will be watching love seeing wood mills working take care and luck with the pond and the mills thanks for sharing
Congratulations on the new demo! Awesome power of UA-cam marketing.
That's great!
Really happy for you!
Congrats Adam! Looks like a great addition to the homestead. Cheers!
Congratulations. Looks to be a well built sawmill. Your busy with the pond build now, but I’m looking forward to seeing the sawmill in action when you use it. You pointed out some very interesting features. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Wow, nice things happening to nice people. I’m liking it 👍. When you do begin cutting lumber, please make a shingle pass or two. Would love to see it.
Boy howdy got your hands full! Good job Mom on the video.
Oh man Adam you are going to be hooked! Sawing your own lumber is the most satisfying thing! When I got my mill I was hooked instantly. Love the lap siding jig. Good luck
Aaron’s yard
Looking forward to watching the mill going and spitting out a bunch of boards. Glad to see a good guy being successful. Keep up the great content.
Looks like a great little lumber mill and has some really nice features. Even better that you developed a symbiotic relationship with them. It’s just good business when each side can help the other one out. Hopefully the pond is coming along well.
Awesome addition Adam👍
You're doing a great job growing your channel and this new mill is going to make for some great content.
That awesome. Congrats on the new mill.
Congratulations Adam, enjoy your addiction. Look forward to your future milling videos
Wow! I'm impressed with the new mill. Keep the videos coming.
Why are videos like this so enjoyable to watch?
I would love to have a mill, guess I’m just gonna have to bring my logs to you! Congrats, it’s gonna be a very cool piece of equipment to own! And, YOU GET TO MAKE YOUR OWN LUMBER!!!!
Doug, you’ll probably be buying one soon for yourself. I’ll look forward to your helping him build his milling shed.
I like the fact that the blade can be run at an angle to stabilize cutting and probably give a cleaner looking cut for less sanding nessary.
Wow that’s an incredible machine thanks for bringing us along
Congratulations Adam!!!
Very excited for y'all, our woodland mills 130 max is on the way. 👍
That is another good value bandsaw mill from a great Canadian company.
Very Nice Adam, don't forget to wear a dust mask for the saw dust. Always be Safe.
Thank you Adam.
Adam, one of the fantastic things that you have probably already figured out is you can sell the off cuts to your customers for Firewood and Kindling, great job Buddy, TJ
Congratulations. Look foward to your using the mill. Never heard of this manufacturer but looks very simple. Keep up the good videos.
I've hit my log stops. If would upgrade my mill I would get that one. Unless I get a hydraulic one but they cost to much. Happy sawing. 😊
Yeah, I called in june and their lead time for saws was august of 2022. I'm sure its probably 2023 by now. to be honest, I never heard of easy boardwalk sawmills until I saw it on your video.
Brilliant. Seems like some really smart engineering decisions went into the design of this mill. Thanks for sharing!
Me and my old man are looking at getting a sawmill in the future. I can assure you we will definitely be getting a boardwalk mill.
Dang it, I was hoping no one saw that video except me because I want to buy one this fall! The saw you have with those extras is exactly what I want.
Boardwalk Boys start working Saturdays too
Great sawmill Adam. Looking forward to more episodes. Have a Safe Day
Awesome!! Can’t wait see more videos of mill in action.
Awesome Adam! Looking forward to seeing you learn and teach as time progresses!
so glad you got your mill at last and I look forward to seeing it in action soon
your next mission I think is to find a use for all that sawdust you're producing - small animal bedding, cat litter tray ??
great video Adam looking forward to some sawing video's
So cool for you ! Happy to see that your good video have paye for you 3 !! Your sawmill look like very nce and easy to use ! Have you the project to build a concret slab and hook the sawmill in ? In my mind this will be a good idea ..
You can also cut fire wood with it. Put your fire wood log on and quarter it if that's too big then make slab cuts to get your thickness then roll log a quarter finish your quarter cut or slab cuts.
Pick up log place it on a jig/buck and saw to length. Then stack your fire wood.
Northwest Sawyer had a recent video on doing exactly as you describe with his saw mill.
@@bwillan yep.. iv mentioned it to him a few times on past.
I have a boardwalk 40 also. Been milling my own lumber for our house we are currently building.
Happy for you, looking forward to see future projects with that machine !
Looks like a great mill. They have thought of many work arounds to the common problem I hear about. I like the loading on the back side.
Awesome stuff! Looking forward to the milling videos in the future. Do you plan on building a shed or roof over it to protect against sunshine and rain? Could be cool as first use of your own milled lumber.
Congrats! Looking forward to some mill video.
looking forward
I sell all the piths for fence posts or fence stays. Who cares if it twists or warps in a barbwire fence. If you want to be profitable, you can't throw away anything. Make a hanger for 5-gallon buckets and collect the sawdust coming off the mill. I sell it for animal bedding.
I bought a very similar lap siding jig for my Woodmizer, and after the first use of it, it hung on the wall of my mill shed for about 10 years unused until someone came along and bought it to make shingles (actually wedges for the mobile home industry). It IS quite handy for making sawed shingles, but for lap siding, they suck.
The PROBLEM with the attachment is you have to saw logs into cants......6-8" wide (depending on what you want for siding....I do 8"), then move the cant, then load the attachment, then load the can INTO the attachment. Moving a 16'x8"x12-16" cant isn't easy, even with a Bobcat, there is a fair amount of man handling.
Well guess what......two small pieces of plywood shims ( I use a 2" x 2" x 5/8" thick pc) DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. I simply saw a log into a cant 8" wide by however tall the log will square out, cock it with a peavy (which, by the way, is a HECK of a lot faster than than log turner thing), stick the shims between the bed rail and cant bottom, and saw a tapered pc of siding. Un-cock the cant, remove the shims, saw the next pc. Continue until you run out of cant.
End of cant spray painted black for clarity:
photos.shutterfly.com/album/40150781227/full/40616593627
Many times faster and less work than using the attachment, which is WHY it hung on my mill shed wall for 10 years.
Another tip when sawing lap siding: (especially poplar which is mostly what I have to saw)
As shown in the photo above, leave the sawed pcs ON the cant as you saw. Lot of logs will 'stress relief' as you saw them and arch up in the middle or the ends. The last pcs of siding will be thick/thin middle to end unless you keep the weight of the previous pcs on TOP to help keep the remain part in place. Same tip applies to sawing lumber in species like small poplar logs that tend to arch unbelievably as you saw them. Turns out the woods is a way more stressful environment that one would have guessed......ahahhahaaaaaa
I think Red Toolhouse did a video on this exact thing a couple of moths ago. Give his channel a look, he does a good bit of stuff on woodmizers.
Nice work! My first job for the mill would be get a good platform and cover built with a log deck built. Next would be a good place to stack the lumber with a cover. So fun to see what all you chose to do with your mill, love that siding gig as an option. Most of all, have fun!
Awesome machine! I'm glad you finally got it. Looks like a very interesting piece of machinery to use. Keep up the good work on your videos.👍
You'll need to cut some lumber for a shed over the mill so you can saw in the rain or snow.
Good introduction video. It would be nice if it had a feed on it, to save pushing.
Awesome!! Complete Mike Morgan starter kit!!
Now it’s down to just the excavator and storage building lol
@@HometownAcres if your like me that may take a few years!! 🤣
@@HometownAcres Don't forget a second tractor for the small jobs. LOL
Looks like a nice setup. You sure are busy this month! Looking forward to seeing more of that sawmill in the future.
Congratulations Adam on your new machine. Can't wait to see your next sawmill videos. The ez machine seem to be really well built and simple compared to some of their major competitors. Greetings from Ireland.
Save your 4x6 centers soak em in diesel fuel and use em for posts to build a pole building over your mill they will last buried for as long as treated. Blessings
Congratulations Adam on your new mill My gosh you certainly have a full plate now! Mite want to think about a building tokeep mill out of the weather.
.
Way to go Adam!
Congrats on your new equipment! My first imagined project for you was a pavilion on the pond! I am sure you have lots to choose from! Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
Either a pavilion for the pond or a pavilion for the saw mill and Eastonmade axis. I’ll need to build both.
Nice .... that cuts like butter
Thank you for getting you a demo now ill have to wait a year if I order one0
I like the simple, but rugged design of it and it appears to have a Honda V-twin engine with an oil filter, which is also a plus.
Yes it’s a GX690
The only thing you left out in your presentation is the unique feature that EZBoardwalk has that no other portable mills do...the angled blade to increase cutting speed. Other than that, I thoughtthat segment was very well done.
For the people that don't know why the sawhead looks crooked, is because it was built that way on purpose. It sort of almost works as a power feed, making it really easy to oush the sawhead into the log. Is that what you are experiencing?
I have the EZ Boardwalk JR,
Very nice Adam, now you can compete with mike Morgan
Good stuff!!
Very nice
Adam, enjoy your new toy
Hey Adam, Great channel and I really enjoy your content. I wanted to tell you that you’re gonna have a lot of sawdust and what we do with our sawdust is we mix it with shredded junk mail and make fire starting logs.
Good luck on your adventure hopefully you have a couple extra sawblades lol
Congrats Adam on the new sawmill. That is awesome. That is too bad on the year backlog to get one of these saws. Sadly it means I and others will have to go with another brand mill as Jan 2023 is just too far out to wait that long to get a mill. It does look like a well built sawmill. UPDATE: After digging around looking at all the mills and what they offer the EZ Boardwalk looks like one of the better built mills out there for build quality, features, and reasonable cost. So once again thanks to you I am BROKE! Just ordered a JR. After having some time to stew on this I concluded the 1 year lead time will be needed to get my sawmill shed and wood shed put up before I go to get the mill. So now the waiting game begins for the mill, but the building plan for its home now begins.... I gotta stop watching this channel and the Morgans. You guys are bankrupting me! LOL
Great video going to check out the mill sounds interesting
Nice ty
That looks like a nice home owner mill. I run a woodmizer lt40 super hydraulic 42hp Diesel. I'd pull my hair out with that.
Nice looking setup
Always remember Eyes and Ear protection. There are no replacement parts for those folks. Just a quick safety tip.
Very nice!!!
i can’t wait to see these shenanigans. gonna see a bunch of sawdust and ribbons of logs laying in piles, it looks like a good idea, but way too much work…unless your actually gonna build something besides a shed to cover it, love the videos though.
Adam this is a great video. Very informative. I like the KISS method. I'll be retiring in a couple years and are looking forward to this hobby. I just hope it won't be overpriced by then. You are my idol going from city boy to country king!
Haha thanks I appreciate it. A lot of people keep telling me I don’t know what I’m doing with the pond build. That’s the whole point. I’m learning, bound to make mistakes but gaining a ton of experience. Glad some people can see that
Awesome! Looking for an electric solution myself to run here in the suburbs!
Very rudimentary machine, but for low volume, should be adequate. Turning large logs is a Yemen's task, along w/ leveling. Never operated a manual push drive, not sure of the effort involved, a drawback is that the "doghouse" should move at a constant speed. Slowing down & speeding up will show in cut quality. Hydraulically regulated blade pressure delivers better uniformity. Not raining on your parade, If the goal is low volume hardwood production, & the effort vs price point is attractive, being young & strong, determined, it should accomplish your immediate goals.
it looks minimalistic, but useful as all getout...
