So glad I was able to find it today on YT. My friend is a Christian (and gay). A member of his Church seems to accept him, but feels that the Bible teaches that homosexuality is not acceptable. My friend and I both know a "Christian" who thinks that a gay person cannot possibly be a true Christian. I don't know if this sketch meant to encapsulate that spectrum, but it is a great comedic performance and wonderful punchline. For me, it does, and having remembered and found it, I think I will recommend it. (I'm not gay, but I do not find this sketch at all homophobic. It is curiously delicate. Unlike "The Scum" headline when a gay character was first written in to EastEnders. If you don't recall, or know, it was "EASTBENDERS" At least we now have Ricky Gervais to carry the torch for ignorance and bigotry.)

@bobbobato I think the sketch is a bit more subtle than that. Rowan Atkinson's character is rather sadly describing his own repressed feelings. That's why he looks so crestfallen at the end. It seems to me extremely sympathetic to everyone, except perhaps to an institution that requires grown men to repress their own sexual identities (straight or gay) for reasons that have eluded most people these past 2,000 years.
