I got the lifetime plex pass when it first came out, it was $50 as a special promotion, it then went up to $100. I'm glad they haven't gone ridiculous with the prices $120 seems to match inflation
I was only interested in the Live OTA and DVR as I am becoming more frustrated with the FireTV UI. Unfortunately the tuners that work with Plex Pass is pretty limited. Either a HomerunHD or Hauppauge seem to work.
Thanks for the video. I didn't know about Plex amp. I have been using Plex server since I got a windows 10 computer and windows media center wasn't there so I couldn't use it anymore with my Xbox to watch ripped DVDs and other content. I moved to Plex pass when it was on a holiday deal several years ago for 89$ lifetime. I've since cut my cable from Comcast and am now using the dvr with an HDhomerun flex4k tuner. I was using the download feature for a while to copy shows to my phone to watch if I got rained in while camping with poor cell service. That's was way cool. Edit: Now I see Plex amp is going to be very useful. I can play music from my PC and stream it to my Google home speakers, and out at the gym. I'm wondering if it will work with Android auto in my truck.. we are going to test it out tomorrow.
before cord cutting: pulled new coax from a 1960's antenna which was in the attic to a SiliconDust - HDHomeRun tuner, I stepped into the lifetime PLEX Subscription dressed up a windows intel i5 computer (memory & storage upgrade) had random reception quality, until I replaced 75 to 300 Ohm UHF/VHF Matching Transformer. (Which has been in attic for decades) then OTA reception was solid. I'm under 20 miles from a broadcast tower. Its been great with Plex Live OTA and Dvr (able to eliminate commercials). The advantage for me is antenna doesn't utilize internet service for DVR or OTA TV, I'm presently at 100 mbs service for a month now.
Would love to be able to tag or rate content from the AppleTV client. Right now the only thing I can set is "watched" or "unwatched". Does Plex Pass or the beta allow rating/tagging from the AppleTV client?
My movies on plex stopped working ie so basically all the new movies and t v series have been removed so my question is by paying for plex pass would all the latest movies work and be available for streaming
@@mohammedtar6336 no, that doesn't sound related to the Plex Pass. They should still appear and play directly without issue. Have you tried rescanning the files and making sure the file names are correct?
I've never even gotten that expanded information on the dashboard (client, direct stream/transcoding info). It just shows me the video and user that is watching it. Is this a setting or something?
The main issue I'm having is the quality of the video being played on remote streaming. What's not clear is that if I do buy into the subscription, would the blurry video go away?
Is this as My Family Cinema? Where you can watch all movies and series also by uploading the cloud?? Could you do a video of that app? I found it’s very cheap for all the content with the users cloud but I don’t know how it works if we want to do an own cloud, asn comparing with the flex pax I think they don’t make you pay for that ☺️
Good honest review Sir. I've been using Plex for years didn't think paying has that much of an advantage. QQ: Are ISO files supported with paid version? QQ: Does the thumbnail preview main that can see preview (like UA-cam)?

Your pc needs to be on in order to use the server
Question before my nas arrives: what does the one time plex app unlock do vs plex pass?

Not that I'm aware of.
I found in my family cinema you can do that function for Apple TV content
Thanks for this video! It's currently on sale and needed more info
Did you end up getting it? I'm on the fence about it
@@kilbeam99 haha not yet. I’m just trying to weigh the options aka I have extra money to spend and need to spend it

I got it since Plex was killing my cpu so I got it for hardware encoding
Can i download to my xboxone client ?

They got rid of mobile upload, that was a big hit to the pass
I like it for my VR headset and watching movies/shows with friends if virtual theatre
I have a Download serveing situation, why would i want htis - why I want to host this...
I think im Gonna Jelly file - i dont wanna share trew the internet - so with some dodes - ich gonne do this via wireguard.

Getting the Plex Pass won't increase your remote streaming quality. Are you transcoding when streaming remotely?
Check your firewall settings, I was Having SD issues, even though my files were 1080p+ Allowed Plex on the firewall and I didn't have the issue.
Thanks dude....is there a capability to share libraries with people you don't know. Community type vibe??
You can share your libraries via email or, if they already have a Plex account, their username.
Hmmm if i were to get plex pass i'd go with lifetime because i am old school and prefer one time purchases.
I have lifetime and couldn't get external serving working without it. Love it! I'm sorry I liked the video and pushed past 69... :)

ISO files are not supported by Plex at all.
Not sure what you're asking in the second question.
Excellent thank you.
So basically all plex pass is really good for is so you dont have to pay for the plex app.
Lies again? HBO + Net Flix + Prime Video = Pay Levy
