I bought my 2002 dodge 2500 4wd cummins 5 speed and had heard about this death wobble. I had to order my truck so I had some time to get this unit. I ordered it from a company called BD diesel out of canada. It came after I had my truck about 2 months. I installed the unit and haven't had any trouble at all. I wanted to get ahead of the game. It drives straight and true and no death wobble at all. This was money well spent I believe.
I didn't have any problems yet but I really liked this bar so I installed one on my 05 Cummins about 3 years ago and love it. Why wait for problems. There is a huge load on that steering box and they all give problems eventually. Now it handles off road here in the mountains in stride.
I'll be having this exact kit put on my 08 2500 after seeing this video. As a retired welder/fabricator/ machinist/ mechanic, this makes sense. I'm too old and stiff to do the job myself. I'll get get back to you
Read about this in Farm Show Magazine. Great source of ideas not just for farmers. BTW, Tunerdude, your tip on getting the quality one first bears listening to.
The most important thing that you MUST do in your truck: put this steering link (Y type) in the trash and use the proper T link assembly. This way you are going to see real differences in truck's behavior and most of all in security. The Y type is dangerous, specially with bigger tires. All the Ram's from mid 2008 are equipped with the new style.
I broke a pitman arm on a 3500. I checked that pitman but several times. And then about 4 years later it literally fell off. Lots of stress on those systems. That brace solves all that.
I know this is an old video..... check out DOR. Dodge Off Road. Just picked up a steering brace and their traction bars for my 4th gen. Frame to frame brackets are susceptible to frame twist.
I have a 07 2500, and just have alot of slack and when you turn the wheel you can see frame move a little. The shop said they would install for 400.00 I think I can handle it after watching this video.
in thinking about the order of final torquing/tightening, I think I will do the set screws last. That way everything will truly not be in a bind. Make sense?
So did this part eliminate the sloppy steering or not? I was thinking about this and a Bilstein on my 2011 Outdoorsman 2500. It has new tires, ball joints, fresh alignment and isn't terrible but it does wander a bit. I just don't want to waste the money if it's not going to help.
tuneman59 I don't think it does it will mine doesn't feel like it does. it does help allot though. I would look up speed wobble dodge brace. I forget the website but this guy created a brace for dodges and apparently it supports very well.
Nice video. I was stunned about the relaxation of the joint to the extent that you could remove it by hand! PLEASE turn down the sound of the air tools when editing! It's a huge no-no, and you've got too much going for your videos to ignore that mistake. Have a great day!
I noticed my stering was a little loose after 580 k miles. But my truck is a 2wd. I only use it for the hot shot business. It's completely stock and is a total grandpa truck. Never been fd with. Totally like Clint Eastwood Grand Torino in the movie " Grand Torino "... anyways because it's a 2wd this part is not going to retrofit onto my truck. Because I don't have all that country lifted hillbilly jacked up cowboy pimped toothless farmer mud bugging twerkin overpriced imported tires w a Lubuc Texas boom box and speakers stolen from a Garth Brooks /Biden inauguration party.... I don't think. Would anyone know if I'm right on the subject?

The only suggestion I would have made is to maybe throw a little locktite on the set screws keep them from potentially backing out.

Thanks for the video - I just installed the dodge steering stabilizer like yours on my 98 dodge 4X4 on Saturday .👍🏼
Once again, you outdid yourself. Thank you. Saving headaches one viewer at a time.
I try, thanks for posting
I put one of these on my Ram 3500, it's a great improvement!
Thanks for this and your other videos of the Ram stuff. I just acquired an 06 Dodge Ram 2500HD.
NitroStar You got some work ahead of you. The 2006 is a great truck. How ever they all need love. Thanks for the kind words.
Great tutorial my brother, thank you for it, it helped me greatly in my aftermarket install.
anytime thanks for posting brother
Thanks for the video. I just ordered this brand because of this video!
Great video and no I never recheck my torques but I do use blue thread lock
I'm glad I bought this brace 100% guaranteed as long as I own it American-made I love it
glad you liked it. thanks for posting
8.8 is a metric version of grade 5. 10.9 is equivalent to grade 8.

Outstanding Video and explanation!
thankyou
Thank you for great information and video!!!
this is the same set up I got. its nice. it sucks to remove though when you gotta replace the steering gear box or pitman!
thanks for posting
Thanks buddy! I appreciate the video, just bought one
anytime thanks for posting

steering link? what part are you talking about?
Nice. Should upgrade the steering to the 08.5+ -
I've had one for years. By supporting the bottom of the gear it seems to keep the lower bushing form wearing and the seal form leaking.

Ah, that sounds like a fun experience. Apparently you survived that but that could make for a wild ride at 70 mph.
Did this help u a lot???
Nice video. Did you ever post a review of this after the test drive? What did you think of the upgrade?
Do you retork the new pitman arm nut at 500 miles still?? With the stabilizer installed? Thanks
Loved your video
What was the torque on the bearing block assembly and also on the mounting bolts / sway bar bracket? Thanks,
Great video.
So how is this unit holding up?? I'm looking to buy it and looking for a review after its been on for awhile thanks!!
Great vid, bro. Put one my ‘06 3/4 and one my ‘15 1ton
thankyou

How is it holding up and is there a great improvement on front end?

Thanks well presented!
I just my 2nd one from them for my newest 3rd gen. :)
what kind of shocks u have on
this is some good info. thanks
thanks for posting
Anyone know what size socket you need for that? Looks big
What size socket is that
How to remove bearing to change pitman arm? Having problem getting bearing off?
What about for a 01 2wd 1500?
did you ever do a test drive review?
I missed where the pitman arm actually attached and how?
What size socket?
So how’s it doing after all these years?
8.8 metric bolts are Not grade 8. Steering / suspension components should use 9.8 or 10.9 bolts! 8.8 is about a grade 5...
got 10.9 with my cheap kit n square tube with out welds
How is it?
Are you supposed to tighten those Allen screws? My instructions say not to.
Thank you 👍🏽
anytime brother

tuneman59 also your steering gear box might be done for.
8.8 is metric and about grade 5 btw. its not the same as a grade 8.
Is this 4x4 only?
Did it make a big difference ???? I never saw a follow up after the test drive ???
Thanks for the quick response ..... Please hold while I fuck my own ass .....

thank you. I will have a discussion with my air tools on behaving.
Definitely it quarter. That’s 3/16” all day
185 is not enough for that nut. At least 225 ft lbs. I go 250+, it's like a 3/4" thread on those suckers.
I looked it up that web site is no longer exists any other site with the same one you know of
Website work fine now. dodgeramsteeringstabilizer.com/
I installed this to my Ram 2018 and stil death wobble
"...an ex-wife came by and did it." Haha good stuff. Great vid as well!
thanks for posting
Thats because the torque is 250lbs
ya make me laugh bro...I had to do the same as well on my cummins.
+Chey Dducloseille still not happy with the front end...
Yes man this unit is awesome, big difference in the steering..control ability, ultimately stability.
Lmao I'm buying one this is old ass post but the guy still sells it
Looks exactly like the rough country
🤣🤣 The ex wife.. lmao!
Definitely not 1/4” that’s 3/16” all day
Prahblee an x wife.😂

I'm guessing x wife
Pitman arm bolt is 200 ft lbs of torque.
