I do remember that there was animosity between the French people and the English one, so, is it possible that that's where some of his anger came from, and why he stabbed her? I dunno, Alberta can get pretty violent because there's a ton of casual and not so casual racism. Lots of angry people there, lots of suicides, lots of fights. If you don't get involved in the oil industry in some capacity (including construction, which is tied to the oil industry workers), you don't really have a ton of opportunities to really support yourself. Of course, that's just how it feels. Everything's cheaper there, and you can make a ton of money doing pretty much any job there. It's just that, no matter how much you make, you'll never make as much as the oil industry workers, which can be very demoralizing. Plus, losing your job in the oil industry, which actually happens a lot, is extremely devastating. Tons of homeless people and drug addicts because of that.

Tumblr had a HUGE CP issue a few years back. It’s the reason why all visual NSFW content was banned (written work is still allowed). It was so bad that the app was removed from Apple’s App Store and the google play store as the website itself was deemed to in appropriate to have the app on there anymore. This lasted for a few days until tumblr staff decided to ban all visual NSFW content instead of taking care of the CP itself which many users had been reporting for YEARS trying to get it removed, but it was ignored up until that point it was removed from multiple app stores. Most of these accounts posting such content were bots rather than actual people. But it’s so much more disturbing to be able to put real faces to those who consumed, produced, and posted such content.

The case of the film students was incredibly frustrating and sad, those poor men were kidnapped and tortured for no reason, and even once the gang had realized their mistake, rather than reacting like they had any soul whatsoever they treated them like trash that could be disposed of, disgusting, and depressing just how many situations likes this happen at the hands of these cartels.

RE: Dylan My younger cousin was pretty close to him in their early teens, he was one of my Cousin's first friends after moving to Leduc. They used to smoke weed together but apparently they started to drift apart after Dylan started getting into harder drugs and other stuff but man it really hit my cousin hard when he heard what happened on the news. I was never friends with him but I had seen him around and we had mutuals but he never struck me as such a self-destructive person. Didn't know the kid had a presence online so it's sort of surreal seeing the story on UA-cam.

Personally, I believe that if you've been accused of a wrongdoing toward a child and you work closely with children on a regular basis, the parents of those children deserve to be notified. It's a very serious accusation that shouldn't be taken lightly. Even if the charges are dropped, there's a chance it was still true. Parents have a right to make educated decisions regarding the care of their child, and that includes knowing of any investigations or charges against a caregiver, ongoing or otherwise.
I think Thomas Vinterberg's film The Hunt does a great job of explaining why this isn't the greatest idea. Now, just to start with - I 100% agree with your logic and reasoning and see exactly where you're coming from. Now, assuming you haven't watched it - you may have, I don't know - the film is essentially about a man who works at a play-school/kindergarten. He's got a best friend who's young daughter he's very close to. She develops a sort of young girl crush on him, and he tells her it's inappropriate after she draws a picture of them holding hands with a love heart. The headmaster of the kindergarten finds the picture, and then questions the young girl about it. Being young, and upset about the rejection, as well as not really understanding what she's being asked - she paints the idea that he's been molesting her. The rest of the film follows him as his life absolutely falls apart. He leaves his girlfriend as she questions him about it, the town turns on him. Even after the young girl - in the last act - admits to her father she made it up and it wasn't true, he's never really accepted back into society again. The film ends with him hanging out with his 'friends', but it's awkward and tense, and the last shot is somebody firing a shot at him, missing, and running away. This is exactly why people are protected in these situations. It may seem unfair to the potential victim, but the damage to their lives once the case is public - even if found not guilty - is so detrimental you just can't release that sort of information until you are 100% sure it happened.
@@pinealdreams1064 While I do agree that accusations do not and should not equate guilt, it is perfectly acceptable for a parent to be proactive and call references for each worker at their child's daycare. All they have to do is ask for them. Employers cannot by law lie on references, so if you ask, "Has this person ever been accused of misconduct towards a child?" they must answer truthfully, regardless of the outcome of that accusation. If a worker has ever had that happen, the worker might simply not list that employer as a reference, but then that would lead to a lapse in employment that might raise suspicions. There is also the possibility of fake references being used, but it's still worth a try. Long story short, accusations are powerful and need to be both made and taken with all seriousness. However, the laws currently exist to protect potential victims more so than they exist to protect the accused. This is because the destruction that a false accusation can do to a life is monstrous, but the destruction one predator whose accusations are ignored can do to many lives is worse. Given what Jerry Sandusky, Larry Nasser, the entire Roman Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America, and countless others were able and are still able to get away with, can you really be surprised? Just as an aside, The Hunt (2012) is not based on a true story. It only claims to be loosely inspired by them. You would do well to list real life examples rather than Hollywood fiction.

I am an ex smoker. Man oh man do I ever love smoking. In the end I was smoking 2 packs a day sometimes dipping into a third pack. (Canadian cigarettes have 25 per pack). To this day I still crave them, i loved EVERYTHING about them, the taste, the ritual the whole act of doing it. Starting is one of my only regrets in life. Don't ever start smoking y'all, they'll hurt you up real bad .

Please, if you smoke. Try and find a way to quit. I watched my uncle slowly die of lung cancer and it DEFINITELY is not something anybody should want for themselves. Every breath he took was agony for him, and it wasn’t a quick death. It dragged on for about 2 weeks. Dying from lung cancer is a slow and painful death I wouldn’t wish against my worse enemy.

As someone who has grown up around smokers and had numerous family members die of smoking related illnesses, including cancer, this really freaks me out. Ironically I was raised by the only non smoker in the family and I never had any desire to smoke or ruin my body that way. This makes me even more grateful. People are very, very strange.

Parenting isn't easy and sometimes kids can push away so far that you can't hold onto them without making things worse. Psych practices and trends change so quickly that you'll be told to do one thing at one point and then the next thing you know you're being told that the treatment you agreed to made everything worse and was no longer accepted. It's like when parents were drugging their kids based off recommendations from doctors and psychiatrists and then they found out the meds weren't supposed to be taken by children and teenagers. I know some parents are just negligent but most truly want to help but are at a loss. In our case, our son is Austistic with ADHD, depression and anxiety but counseling isn't working at all and we're paying $87 for each one hour session. We have looked into Buddhist life mentoring group programs bc of the results but idk. I know my parents tried too and I was just angry. I turned out okay but I'm still a bit leary of psychologists bc of what happened while in their care. Despite my own misgivings about my parents, I believe in showing sympathy and love to the families caring for people with severe mental issues. It's not easy for anyone.
I would not always blame the parents. There are times that parents did their absolute best to stop actions, while I would not blame the kids the responsibility is not always on the parents. The health of a child is also a responsible of the child itself (woah shocking right?), so to always blame the parents for this actions NEEDS to have some context to the actual situation. You and I dont know them personally so we shouldn't act like a judge to blame a party just because that is what we believe.

The amount of corruption that happens in Mexico always breaks my heart. As much as I am happy being Mexican; I am so glad that my parents had me born and raised in the USA. So many people talk shit about the USA but they don't know how ignorant they are to realize that Mexico and so many other countries will harm you if you talk about the crimes and awful things with politicians.
True we have a better privilege of being able to speak our mind better here in the US. I’m glad I grew up well in a house daycare that wasn’t intended to be bad towards kids. I am a lucky kid and I wish those other kids who weren’t so lucky to one day find their sunlight that will make them be better and strive in the near future for what they have been through.

Regarding the last story, sadly that's a pattern found in pretty much most Latin American countries. I can testify to this as I am Latin American. Reporters who dedicate they're lives to speak up against corruption and political fraud, which is very common here, are targets of violence, and either end up killed or silenced. Enviromental activists also face the same issue here, people in power aren't content with them and deal with them in the most horrible ways. The worst part about it is they get away with it.

so, not to defend her, but her original “i was on tumblr and it popped up” wasn’t like...too far fetched for the time. i was on tumblr from 2011-2015 (age 15-19) and can tell you that, at that time, there was a chance that, every once in a while, you would be scrolling through an innocent tag and it would pop up and you’d have to report it and keep scrolling. I think at one point i had seen it on tags for tv shows, cat tags, youtube tags, etc. verizon buying out tumblr really helped dispel a bunch of it but it honestly was all too common back in the day.

Fun fact, warning labels on cigarette packs using real images of those suffering from lung and oral cancer actually seemed to increase smoking following their implementation. Though I doubt such was generally as sexual as it was in Dylan's case, it's evident he wasn't alone in being attracted to such imagery.
My Dad was a heavy and long-term smoker, and sadly quit too late to save himself from dying of lung cancer. I remember whenever we saw an anti-smoking ad on tv he would say that they were ineffective to most active smokers. Smokers generally know what cigarettes are doing to them. He did concede that the ads might have a better effect on people being tempted to smoke. I'm not sure if he knew about the fetish surrounding it (I don't think he would have discussed it with his kids even if he did) but I remember him saying the ads might spur smokers to continue or even smoke more in response.

The instructor knew a couple people were late for smoking a cigarette, and nothing happened.) That's why flavored alcohol isn't being hit at all. I dunno, Alberta can get pretty violent because there's a ton of casual and not so casual racism. Lots of angry people there, lots of suicides, lots of fights. If you don't get involved in the oil industry in some capacity (including construction, which is tied to the oil industry workers), you don't really have a ton of opportunities to really support yourself.
Of course, that's just how it feels. Everything's cheaper there, and you can make a ton of money doing pretty much any job there. It's just that, no matter how much you make, you'll never make as much as the oil industry workers, which can be very demoralizing.
Plus, losing your job in the oil industry, which actually happens a lot, is extremely devastating. Tons of homeless people and drug addicts because of that.

Tumblr had a HUGE CP issue a few years back. It’s the reason why all visual NSFW content was banned (written work is still allowed). It was so bad that the app was removed from Apple’s App Store and the google play store as the website itself was deemed to in appropriate to have the app on there anymore. This lasted for a few days until tumblr staff decided to ban all visual NSFW content instead of taking care of the CP itself which many users had been reporting for YEARS trying to get it removed, but it was ignored up until that point it was removed from multiple app stores. Most of these accounts posting such content were bots rather than actual people. But it’s so much more disturbing to be able to put real faces to those who consumed, produced, and posted such content.

My younger cousin was pretty close to him in their early teens, he was one of my Cousin's first friends after moving to Leduc. They used to smoke weed together but apparently they started to drift apart after Dylan started getting into harder drugs and other stuff but man it really hit my cousin hard when he heard what happened on the news. Personally, I believe that if you've been accused of a wrongdoing toward a child and you work closely with children on a regular basis, the parents of those children deserve to be notified. It's a very serious accusation that shouldn't be taken lightly. Even if the charges are dropped, there's a chance it was still true. Parents have a right to make educated decisions regarding the care of their child, and that includes knowing of any investigations or charges against a caregiver, ongoing or otherwise.
I think Thomas Vinterberg's film The Hunt does a great job of explaining why this isn't the greatest idea. Now, just to start with - I 100% agree with your logic and reasoning and see exactly where you're coming from.
Now, assuming you haven't watched it - you may have, I don't know - the film is essentially about a man who works at a play-school/kindergarten. He's got a best friend who's young daughter he's very close to. She develops a sort of young girl crush on him, and he tells her it's inappropriate after she draws a picture of them holding hands with a love heart.
The headmaster of the kindergarten finds the picture, and then questions the young girl about it. Being young, and upset about the rejection, as well as not really understanding what she's being asked - she paints the idea that he's been molesting her.
The rest of the film follows him as his life absolutely falls apart. He leaves his girlfriend as she questions him about it, the town turns on him. Even after the young girl - in the last act - admits to her father she made it up and it wasn't true, he's never really accepted back into society again. The film ends with him hanging out with his 'friends', but it's awkward and tense, and the last shot is somebody firing a shot at him, missing, and running away.
This is exactly why people are protected in these situations. It may seem unfair to the potential victim, but the damage to their lives once the case is public - even if found not guilty - is so detrimental you just can't release that sort of information until you are 100% sure it happened.
@@pinealdreams1064 While I do agree that accusations do not and should not equate guilt, it is perfectly acceptable for a parent to be proactive and call references for each worker at their child's daycare. All they have to do is ask for them. Employers cannot by law lie on references, so if you ask, "Has this person ever been accused of misconduct towards a child?" they must answer truthfully, regardless of the outcome of that accusation.
If a worker has ever had that happen, the worker might simply not list that employer as a reference, but then that would lead to a lapse in employment that might raise suspicions. There is also the possibility of fake references being used, but it's still worth a try.
Long story short, accusations are powerful and need to be both made and taken with all seriousness. However, the laws currently exist to protect potential victims more so than they exist to protect the accused. This is because the destruction that a false accusation can do to a life is monstrous, but the destruction one predator whose accusations are ignored can do to many lives is worse. Given what Jerry Sandusky, Larry Nasser, the entire Roman Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America, and countless others were able and are still able to get away with, can you really be surprised?
Just as an aside, The Hunt (2012) is not based on a true story. It only claims to be loosely inspired by them. You would do well to list real life examples rather than Hollywood fiction.

I am an ex smoker. Man oh man do I ever love smoking. In the end I was smoking 2 packs a day sometimes dipping into a third pack. (Canadian cigarettes have 25 per pack). To this day I still crave them, i loved EVERYTHING about them, the taste, the ritual the whole act of doing it. Starting is one of my only regrets in life. Watching leather smoking man frightened the hell out of me. I spent a really rough night obsessively trying to calculate how long I had left to live (if he deteriorated so fast in five years, smoking an average of etc etc etc). So bad, I've now set a date for giving up.
As someone who has grown up around smokers and had numerous family members die of smoking related illnesses, including cancer, this really freaks me out. Ironically I was raised by the only non smoker in the family and I never had any desire to smoke or ruin my body that way. This makes me even more grateful. People are very, very strange.
I feel sorry for the FBI agents and police officers that have to view the CP. Imagine waking up in the morning with your family knowing you might have to review CP later. I feel even worse for the children of course.
It’s some peoples jobs to go through each tape and watch it fully to make sure the reports were certain. It seems like an absolutely horrible duty.
I remember watching a video on youtube about the google reviewers who had to watch these videos and others that are reported. It broke her and her colleagues, and I just wanted to hug them

Psych practices and trends change so quickly that you'll be told to do one thing at one point and then the next thing you know you're being told that the treatment you agreed to made everything worse and was no longer accepted. It's like when parents were drugging their kids based off recommendations from doctors and psychiatrists and then they found out the meds weren't supposed to be taken by children and teenagers.
I know some parents are just negligent but most truly want to help but are at a loss. In our case, our son is Austistic with ADHD, depression and anxiety but counseling isn't working at all and we're paying $87 for each one hour session. We have looked into Buddhist life mentoring group programs bc of the results but idk.
I know my parents tried too and I was just angry. I turned out okay but I'm still a bit leary of psychologists bc of what happened while in their care.
Despite my own misgivings about my parents, I believe in showing sympathy and love to the families caring for people with severe mental issues. It's not easy for anyone.
I would not always blame the parents.
There are times that parents did their absolute best to stop actions, while I would not blame the kids the responsibility is not always on the parents. The health of a child is also a responsible of the child itself (woah shocking right?), so to always blame the parents for this actions NEEDS to have some context to the actual situation. You and I dont know them personally so we shouldn't act like a judge to blame a party just because that is what we believe.

The amount of corruption that happens in Mexico always breaks my heart. As much as I am happy being Mexican; I am so glad that my parents had me born and raised in the USA. So many people talk shit about the USA but they don't know how ignorant they are to realize that Mexico and so many other countries will harm you if you talk about the crimes and awful things with politicians.

Regarding the last story, sadly that's a pattern found in pretty much most Latin American countries. I can testify to this as I am Latin American. Reporters who dedicate they're lives to speak up against corruption and political fraud, which is very common here, are targets of violence, and either end up killed or silenced. Enviromental activists also face the same issue here, people in power aren't content with them and deal with them in the most horrible ways. The worst part about it is they get away with it.

so, not to defend her, but her original “i was on tumblr and it popped up” wasn’t like...too far fetched for the time. i was on tumblr from 2011-2015 (age 15-19) and can tell you that, at that time, there was a chance that, every once in a while, you would be scrolling through an innocent tag and it would pop up and you’d have to report it and keep scrolling. I think at one point i had seen it on tags for tv shows, cat tags, youtube tags, etc. verizon buying out tumblr really helped dispel a bunch of it but it honestly was all too common back in the day.

My Dad was a heavy and long-term smoker, and sadly quit too late to save himself from dying of lung cancer. I remember whenever we saw an anti-smoking ad on tv he would say that they were ineffective to most active smokers. Smokers generally know what cigarettes are doing to them. He did concede that the ads might have a better effect on people being tempted to smoke. Unfortunately that does seem to be the case for some people; I've got smokers in my family, and despite cancer scares and knowing what it can do, they can't or won't stop.
My mother is one of the few who successfully quit decades ago, when she learned she was going to be a mom.

I admit I was a heavy smoker myself 40 a day sometimes even 60 at the age of 33 , I am smoke free now but one thing I will never ever understand is the fetish around it finding it "sexy" is one thing but fetishing cancer is a whole nother ball game and it creeps me out bad.
Seeing Leathersmokemi decay made me quit smoking. It was horrific to see him go through that. At least I finally can breath without pain now.
I smoked 1/2-1 pack a day, then quit back in 2010. Stupid me, picked it up again and been smoking x almost 2 years...I had no issues, other than getting pretty bitchy 5-6 weeks after putting them down, long ago, but dang, it's difficult now...I know how gross it is, because when I quit the 1st time, I smelled better, felt better..etc..and wallet much fatter...now, I just get frustrated...I don't want to replace FOOD with smoking either...patches make me nauseous...gotta quit...

I don't understand how vaping can be worse than cigarettes, but I have done it before and it's "different " I'll say that. Bought this disposable one recently, PurVapor, but anytime I try to take a puff, and I'm not chiefin' it either, it makes me cough...maybe it's too strong..idk..but would like to make transition to it, taper down..etc..plus, it doesn't stink! Stayed a non-smoker for over 8 years, then, BAM, got me again...ugh, what a dumb move...🤷♀️...
@@calebp8257 Let's be real, it's the tobacco company causing this. Some states are even cracking down basically making it to where legit companies won't ship to them at all anymore. (And trust me getting smokes as a minor is super easy in some places still. And the penalty where I live at least, was a fine for the parents or smoking classes for the underage smoker and no fee. The instructor knew a couple people were late for smoking a cigarette, and nothing happened.)
That's why flavored alcohol isn't being hit at all. There's some sickly sweet alcohol that tastes like candy for crying out loud.
