Pro tip, if you hold the button you want to come after the quick step it will activate as soon as possible. That’s how you see his quick step cancel in a lot of combos. Edit: another tip, if you have “button release input” on, you can easily link the medium kick into one of his supers by doing this: K+K -> hold medium K -> down forward + down forward -> release kick after you hit the medium kick out of the quick step.
@@Pkredx yessir, but it needs to be pressed and held after the quick dash (k+k). This will make the stop as fast and efficient as possible. If you do it too soon it will not activate, and if you do it too late he will run farther than the fastest stop you can make. Edit: same goes for drive rush too. If you want the attack to come out in the fastest frame possible, all you need to do is hold the command you want to come out after you’ve activated drive rush. Ideally, this works best at close range because having your drive rush normal come out on the fastest frame will drastically shorten the running range. I learned this from Tokido.
very good explanation! i was having a super hard time quick stepping on stick until i realized that the 2x kicks can be pressed whilst holding forward or backwards which will easily lead into DP better than from neutral
Thanks for the video. I'm having issue in the combo with dr cHP -> quick step cancel -> sMP ->sHP -> quick step -> ender. Any tips to improve the timing of quick step cancel extension?
Just making sure before attempting it; The combo in question begins with a drive rush and the opponent's on the ground, right? Could you land this combo already? If so, which of those quick steps was harder to perform?
@@reckless_x can begin after drive rush cHP hits or cHP punish counter hits. It's difficult for me to perform after the cHP, the quick step cancel into target combo
Hey Reckless can you please tell how to pull off the crouching medium kick into the od dragonlash. I’m having difficulty on this specific trial you did. I don’t know the best way to set up my run buttons
1- You can press down medium kick then go for the dragonlash 2- input down/forward medium and do a hadoken-like motion 3- down/forward medium kick followed by down forward + Double kick. It's a trick, because when down/forward is done twice it counts as if you had inputted a shoryuken motion
Hey man good vid, but I do have a question. Is a regular keyboard viable for this? When I watch combo videos and the like I'm always dumbfounded at how difficult these are to perform. Then again, it might also be that I've only been playing the game for three days. Anyway, thanks in advance
It is! I've seen guys doing crazy stuff on keyboard It's all a matter of adaptation At first it's kind of complicated to pull combos or any specials/supers off, but you'll get the hang of it The more you use it, the better you'll get those I've always played dualshock. I bought an arcade stick a few years ago, but I don’t use it as much as my pad, which means I don't have the same execution, nor do I find it as simple as using my pad But if I put enough practice into it, pretty sure I'd be able to take it into a similar level as if I played on pad Just like your case; practice a lot and you'll find those combos easier throughout the process
Mate thanks alot, it's one of the few videos I got alot out off. I'm I right in saying try forward forward into tatsu and into dp and I'll connect more if the charachter is out off range a bit. Thanks pal stay and well and I'm subscribing to you know..
Mate just one more thing if I do kens run wht should I put to cut it short or cancel it, I'm playing sf since the arcades but the whole drive rush and all that system has my head spun.. So basically I watched you run in your vid as Ken but I can't seem to stop what do I need to press, when you have time pal if you can let me know I'd really appreciate it..
@@markpoland5748 you can't cancel the drive rush animation Each character has a pre-set length to run for You can do any moves, grabs or just stand still after it You can use that drive rush by inputting dash after some of his moves
I absolutely love doing chin buster, quick step, Dragon lash into level three super, but I find that I'm very limited in using a lot of moves because my opponents are usually blocking low, or simply blocking, meaning my setups are blocked. Jinrai gets stuffed, Dragon lash tends to get stuffed(sometimes I can get a few crouching jabs after, but most of the time, I get thrown). Would you have any tips for these situations?
His light and medium dragon lash are punishable, the reliable one should be your heavy dragon lash. But I think might interrupt it if they keep mashing, and some skilled people might parry it And if I'm not mistaken, his jinrai kick string has an overhead follow-up Try to always what you do, somethings do a full string, sometimes don't, go for grabs in certain moments, and in exact same moments do something other than the grab I'll give you an example: I've been playing manon and she has this move that gets her opponent close to her Sometimes I'll grab after it, or go for a light combo or even do nothing and wait for my opponent's reaction Try to create this kind of feeling in your opponent "oh, I don't know exactly what he's gonna do" make them always guess
Hey I’m a silver Ken player and I know how to do all of his moves. I’ve recently found out I’m playing ken wrong. The combo trial teaches you to ex Dragon lash after chin buster combo. Which burns meter a lot of pro players however are using the run mid combo off of chin buster. I can do the run from chin buster tatsu but I drop the combo a lot. So your saying after clicking the run button immediately click input for dp or tatsu depending on which one I’m going for??
Same timing for both of them! Takes some practice, but it's totally worth it As you've mentioned, burning a lot of meter might not be the best option But it's the same as the shoryuken follow-up version
