This dudes lifestory is enough to fill numerous volumes. If you're not aware of how insanely busy this man keeps himself with a very wide range of travels and talents, look into him, a modern renaissance man in our midst.
Wrote him a letter from rehab once and he was kind enough to write a quick reply back that really gave me some strength for awhile there. Words mean things. Acid's a hell of a drug :)
My first exposure to him was as Zaheer in Legends if Korra. Come to find out he was the frontman of one of the most prolifically violent bands ever yet also an incredibly intelligent and funny man. I also ended up watching that movie as i started aquainting myself with his works, pretty good, boring in some parts, but he did good in his role.
IF you asked him, he would say he's not funny enough to be a comedian. He just has a funny life and he tells the stories. He does 'spoken word' where some of it is funny, some of it is emotional, some of it is supposed to make you think/understand a different perspective. Been a rollins fan for 20 years. He has pretty extreme depths.
Anyone first aquainting themselves with Henrys work should also check out his spoken word bit "Eric the Pilot" and the songs "Get Some Go Again" and "Rise Above"
Truly!! My 1st time on mushrooms included a beach outing on a full moon night when the water was filled with bioluminescence... Those IRL images & waves of feelings are etched into the very core of my being now.

I've seen Henry on a few occasions doing spoken word in the Netherlands. His first encounter with LSD differs from mine. I had LSD once, with a former girlfriend, weirdest sex ever. ...and I'm still an *******... 😂
This is a good story! As much as a jerkk Greg Ginn is/was, Henry recognizes his brilliance and the platform that was given to him through Black Flag. I would love to here Henry do another record, maybe something a little stripped down. Joe Lally collaboration?
Just like everyone else, dealing with the pandemic. He hasn't been able to do the travelling and activities he's used to for the last couple of years, so he's going back over some of the older stories until he has something new to talk about it. We saw him live a couple of weeks ago and he does have a great story about the stalker who broke into his home.
@@kiwi_crushSick! I wanna see him again. Yeah that story is CRAZY you can find a short version around here on YT somewhere. He is consistently so damned fun to watch!🤘
@BeauMedas it's just dirty how comedy central did Ari (although yes Roy is the man). They pushed him out of his very own show that was his brainchild, over some petty crap and continued to profit off of his model of the show. Legally viable, but still dirty and lazy. CC stinks
Someone who pushes you to take another one and another. Those are not those who you want to trip with. Especially a stranger you don't know well. Don't drive under the influence either.
I remember thinking this guy was anti establishment. Then once I lived long enough to absorb what the establishments message was, I realize Henry was the establishment.
Don't know much about Rollins, but I like to think that considering yourself anti-establishment is already part of the establishment itself. There are some double bottoms to the psyche of modern and postmodern man... "The more things change, the more they stay the same."
"after a minute it goes away" lol. like paper money made out of good ol levis jeans made for apalachian miners who aren't allowed to have cash in hand at any time lol
Where's the bit about going to the supermarket & eating raw meat?! Is this the gay version of the story? Cuz I remember the original bit, was much longer 🤔
I don't know. Many trip reports sound incredible, don't they? But I can hardly imagine that a person experienced with acid would take 4 tabs in a row. Doing 2 in a row is already a beginner mistake.
@@MattHadder yeah in the description after I already clicked on it, they shouldn't just repost something they posted before. hoping for something new. some people would consider this clickbait
It's crazy, before the Internet people would just DO drugs. I always researched everything in depth before I did it and I was born in the 90s. I can't comprehend fully blasting off for your FIRST trip let alone with someone like the lady in the story but people used to do it all the time and probably still do. Awe inspiring.
I hope they make a movie about him. This guy is essentially the punk forrest gump.
He is really interesting. If you haven't read his books, you should check them out. He is also surprisingly easy to contact.
That’s beyond an accurate description of his life
Punk Forrest Gump?
Yep, I agree he's special.

Wow, I had no idea Henry did standup comedy and, more importantly, that he's funny as heck!
Hes done spoken word tours for the last 30 years. I wouldnt call it stand up, as hes not strictly going got laughs... but he can be funny.
You have a whole awesome world to explore now
Absolutely love Henry Rollins 🌟
My childhood icon 🖤
He stars in a movie called He Never Died. Highly recommend watching!
Yes! That's an intense and trippy movie. It's VERY good!
He was good in Johnny Mnemonic and The Chase (1994).
