I like everything except the fact that windows don’t open. You need to add windows that open. Just for that reason alone I have to cross it off the list of B’s I’d consider.
The main thing this video shows is how tight the quarters are - two people constantly getting in each other's way. I can't imagine a vehicle meant for living on the land not being able to open the windows.
Thank you Hank for the good review. I appreciate that you offer excellent suggestions on how the van could be made with improvements in such a way that the manufacturer listens to you. Several things i saw that would do well ( I currently have a Coachmen Beyond, my third Class B, so I have some experience). I agree with you that Lithionics WITH a generator would be awesome. The smart plug should be moved forward because it looks like you might not be able to open the back door all the way if it was plugged in. Max Fans with remotes are better (my opinion). He didn't mention if the air conditioner would come on automatically if there was a pet left in the van. I noticed that their insulation wrap did not cover the exposed metal over the wheel well. I agree that there should be a bigger fridge - glad to hear they will make that change. What's with the window's not opening? That doesn't make sense. And how about max tracs on the floor to accommodate bikes, etc. that he mentioned could fit in the van. Currently, I am looking for another van and this one is a serious consideration when/if changes are made. I like the way they did the bathroom/shower. Not so sure about the sofa though, could be hard to get out of in the middle of the night (I'm older so that is necessary :-) Again, good review.
Great interview. The love seat is the only bed🤔 and you can’t be in the kitchen if someone is sleeping. Also, the toilet would be awkward to use if you have guest.
Would be very helpful to have kickplate drawers underneath the cabinetry. A lot of space is lost there. Is there an option to have a composting toilet that would store inside the shower cabinet...and then build out the space now used for the toilet? I definitely agree with the installation of a power-tower. Looking at this for full time. Also definitely needs a separation curtain for privacy to the back of the van.
When you have an exhaust fan you need a place for the replacement air to enter the van. None of your windows open, so how does the air get in? Does the A/C operate from the lithium batteries when you don't have a generator, or do you need to be connected to shore power?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHANNEL! I really enjoy how you take the tours with all the different reps. from all the RV lines. You do a great job at keeping them at ease when they are a tad nervous. Skills. :-) I really loved this layout. That’s for mentioning a free things most consumers would also be concerned about. I wonder how much these will run retail? Hmmm.... Outstanding job! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. You & wife make a wonderful team. Ty again. Greeting from Texas.
If Hank was available, I'd have Him go over my RV prior to buying it...he knows his stuff! Love the disappearing toilet and in time I'm sure Ford will iron out the areas that need it.
Well, I honestly wish these guys luck ...but all appearances suggest a significant uphill climb to gain market share. The long-neglected website now features new change to the Bayside floorplan. (Thankfully, that bizarre 'toilet cabinet' is gone, and dual opposing sofa beds replace the one seen in the video). The bare metal wheel well revealed behind the opened cabinet door, was not confidence-inspiring (especially, given the boasts of their company's superior application of 'hush mat' sound insulation by the tour guide). The inelegant design and rough quality depicted in the photos and video ...honestly suggest a shoe string budget endeavor ...by a small group of RV industry veterans, whom lack corporate quality media/product promotion skills. In time, perhaps Chinook can legitimately compete, and quality will be driven up and volume production will allow prices to move downwards.
Tough interview. I felt for you. It felt like you were pulling teeth. haha Low energy and it wasnt the interviewer! I guess I am spoiled with you and Nick!
Chinook is not ready for prime time with that rig. No opening windows, no table to eat from, the bed is too narrow. The top cabinets are too narrow at the bottom, going to need those strong latches. They said CozieWrap everywhere but when you opened the lower cabinet the wheel well was bare, which will be noisy. No from me.
I like this model; yes need to be able to open windows. I’d like to have a porta-potty option to store in the shower when not in use. Then use the toilet space for more storage.
Gotta , gotta, gotta have windows that open. Need option for LP 2 burner stove, with oven. Cassette or composting toilet and get rid of the black tank.
You don't miss a thing. The 30 amp plug with built in surge protection is great. They did a great job on this design. But they have to put in windows that open. I think the toilet takes too much space sliding to the side. Overall I am impressed.
Love all the windows! Hopefully they’ll make them open. Love the extra counter space. Not a fan of the toilet outside the shower but maybe if I tried the shower without a toilet in it I’d prefer it. Love you can add a lithium package! Love the bed. Definitely hope they make a floor plan with a bigger fridge! I wonder if the integrated sink can support a fitted cover as it doesn’t have a smooth edge.
I need one built with large Frig, some tie downs, 1000 amps lithium & solar, separate sleeping areas for 2. Like the slide over the toilet if a 6 foot person can sleep above that area. Story of my life. DC air, plus chassis factory rear air. Counter height office work space. Pop up outlets elec, usb, and dc ports. Smart plug with built in ac cord, well insulated. Hide exterior hooks. At least rhino guard all the black plastic bumpers etc, kitchen water hose long enough to spray out side the van side door. Seat belts in coach sitting.
It bothers me that the windows don't open...no cross ventilation. I also prefer the stove and sink be recessed and covered to provide more counter space. The AWD is an awesome option so I will consider the Beyonds by Coachman to be better suited for my needs.
@@strangerpalooza Hey hank, I’m looking for a 4x4 on the transit chassis…true 4wd….do you think your buddy in Florida can help, I checked out the Rebel, too small for us…TY
I don't want to be too negative in my comment. This is a Ford Transit with stock seats, power door, non opening widows and no overhead storage over the cab. I don't know the exact price but I think it's over $15,000.
The only thing that I can see that is like the original version of shnook is the coke bottle opener, unfortunately it is almost impossible to find any bottles other than beer or something like that, lol. But I prefer the wet bath version and the original version of shnook, sometimes if they aren't broken don't fix them, and as for the people who love the original version of shnook they are just got to be disappointed with this version. I do understand that other people might like that model but I prefer the original version, and if they could get a wider body of the sprinter vans or maybe a wider body full size van and use the original version floor plan would be perfect.
interesting ! Chinook was known for quality, I believe the new owners have more to do to come up to the previous standards. Not enough plugs, no lagun table attachment for dining. I would add an optional extended shower curtain to give addn'l shoulder space. I do like the separate bath and shower, however the privacy for the commode is a must. THANK YOU for sharing.
need a focus group before you do anything more.....Whoa for that MSP it is lacking a lot. sorry...climbing over a bed rediculous.....kthe all wheel drive is the only feature so far
I think this guy mentioned 3 times how Chinook is the only manufacturer that uses Hushmatt on all sides of the van. Yet when he open the cabinet there was no Hushmatt or anything on the wheelwell. Probably the most important area to have Hushmatt.
I appreciate you bringing in a Chinook rep to interview, but you’re not giving him a chance to talk! You’re doing most of the talking, when he can tell us more about their product. Give your guests a chance to talk, bro!
Is it me or is this Chinook rep not into the interview? his responses are short and not technical like a well versed individual excited to talk about a product he represents.
- totally agree. Ridiculous for a representative of a company trying to sell a product. I’d FIRE him. Leave your personal BS at home and do your job. He seems like a racist or hateful individual; if not that he’s certainly preoccupied.
Not sure about size oof bed and don’t like bed blocking entire width. Also, the lack of toilet privacy is a deal breaker. Finally, for this kind of money, give me a macerated.
Your limited on your air conditioning usage if you don’t have a generator 600 amp hours isn’t enough to park very long pleasure way gives you both in a ford with a generator
I really wanted to see this review of this RV but your camerawork actually made me sick to my stomach. Please try to stop moving the camera so erratically. Will look for another review because I think I may like this coach.
That power door is too slow, power step gimmicky, nothing done to improve oem front seats, hate the way the awnings stick out on the Transits. I do love the clean exterior look. Where are the screens for slider and rear door? thats a big fail. The cabinetry doesn't appear to be dovetailed, shower needs a small soap shelf, noticed no insulation or sound mat on wheel arches. I wouldn't be so proud to be aligning with Coca-Cola who is a woke company that supports domestic terrorism. Poor Chinook guy acting like he's giving a deposition...lol
Thumbs down bc there’s something wrong with this salesman. He doesn’t believe in this product himself or he’s got some personal issues. The interviewer had to do much of the demonstration himself. One word answers, he had to prodded about. Sucks!
KEY MOMENTS TIMELINE IN VIDEO DESCRIPTION. Thank You For Watching🙏🏾
I like everything except the fact that windows don’t open. You need to add windows that open. Just for that reason alone I have to cross it off the list of B’s I’d consider.
That was the first thing I noticed. No abilitiy for cross ventilation
The guy did mention this is just a production model. It is not a finished model.
@@jasoncrandall73 pre-production model
That and all the stuff outside needs to be waist high like other brands are doing now so old folks like me dont have to crouch down to reach them.
The main thing this video shows is how tight the quarters are - two people constantly getting in each other's way. I can't imagine a vehicle meant for living on the land not being able to open the windows.
It’s a show model y’all slow
I really like the way you ask questions. You don't get anyone's back up but you get the answers. Execellent.
I LOVE the toilet cabinet. I would want a cassette toilet so there’s no black tank to mess around with.
I like the shower and toilet in the back . If just a little smaller and can easy to drive in the city,it would be perfect
Thank you Hank for the good review. I appreciate that you offer excellent suggestions on how the van could be made with improvements in such a way that the manufacturer listens to you. I had a 2001 Chinook Concourse LE. The finest coach ever made. Find the mold….and recreate. You would sell a ton of em.
I agree! This RV is a TransVan, not a real Chinook. Not even close enough to call it a Chinook. They should call it something else!
That generator looks like it would rip off the bottom in a bottom out situation
Great interview. The love seat is the only bed🤔 and you can’t be in the kitchen if someone is sleeping. Also, the toilet would be awkward to use if you have guest.
I had no idea that Chinook was back either. Thanks for sharing.

I guarantee you anywhere in any car or van is not airtight and air will get in…!!
The fact none of the windows open is a big issue !
Yep. It makes zero sense.

Did you show the sleeping area?
Great, but I’d like windows that open and ability to do lithium batteries and keep generator
I did not know they made these! This is my favorite floor plan of all the B vans.
They missed the mark on the toilet. Chinook needs to stick with the B-plus motorhomes. That's their specialty.
If Hank was available, I'd have Him go over my RV prior to buying it...he knows his stuff! Love the disappearing toilet and in time I'm sure Ford will iron out the areas that need it.

I always like your reviews. You actually test everything in them….very informative
Soooooooo nice to see such a different Floorplan, a couch wow
Thanks Debbie
noticed that the seat back cushions were not attached and ready to fly off on corners or rough roads

So when will I be able to get a lithium package that can be charged by solar, engine alternator and the growing number of EV electric access points?
I like this model; yes need to be able to open windows. I’d like to have a porta-potty option to store in the shower when not in use. Then use the toilet space for more storage.
Gotta , gotta, gotta have windows that open. Need option for LP 2 burner stove, with oven. Cassette or composting toilet and get rid of the black tank.
No sound or weather insulation over wheel covers. At this price?
Thank you so much we love your style.
Really love that shower!!
I like the electric doors and bed but I definitely need a real freezer separate from the fridge. Thanks for the overview.
You don't miss a thing. The 30 amp plug with built in surge protection is great. They did a great job on this design. But they have to put in windows that open. I think the toilet takes too much space sliding to the side. Overall I am impressed.

I would pass on this class B, really no opening windows other than the front two windows. . They should have had a complete van to show….
Like your Casio GShock 2100 ! And… common man, Never wear a Coachmen hat when workin with the Chinook man!?!!? Ha Ha

I like it just wondering if a pull down Murphy bed with or without walk around capability. Both my husband and I are disable
I like the older chinook design. Why would anyone want to use the bathroom in the open? The shower should be the one you lift up not the toilet!
Area for tp? and shower stall needs some trays for soap/shampoo but do love it.
A lot of things in this van are impractical! The sofa bed is beautiful though! Having an RV with no opening windows is completely ludicrous!😒🇺🇸
luv ur show
Suggestion; maybe let the rep do a walk-thru and present their own product before interrupting with comments and questions.
interesting ! Chinook was known for quality, I believe the new owners have more to do to come up to the previous standards.

The headlight OPTION is still a halogen instead of the HID/led 2022 transit lighting OPTION!
I have had LED lites. They suck, way too dim, for driving country roads.
Do you have this one on 19foot long?
So where is a website in Florida to view them?
Nice
“Yep, uh-huh, yeah.” -salesman
are there airbags ?

That’s better then a wet bath .

I think the floorplan changed for 2023.
Wished it has the acrylic duel pane windows. Nice dry bathroom. Nice layout change.
That bottle opener is a deal Maker 😅😅🙄
What about a furnace?
Price? Did I miss it?
Yes you did. It was $169,000!

you guys are great the chinook is poorly designed!
I think the dialogues should have been the other way round.
The size of the refrigerator sad and many one can add a bottle opener In many van. No open window at all.
Did he not notice your hat? That toilet idea needs work.
Oh I want to cry that the Chinook name is put on this camper van. It is nice but a long way from the Chinook. The build is not like Chinook
A stinky design though. They should've just made a new Chinook based off the old versions with today's conveniences
No insulation on the wheel well tells me; POOR INSULATION.
I don't like the toilet location. It should be totally enclosed.
Ground.clearance.could.be.an.issue
I don't want windows to dangerous in bear country
Feel like it's way over priced not digging this one but xouguys!
seem to have lost their way from the original chinook with the rear entry and kitchen

Who would be stupid enough to pay that much money for some particle, board cabinets mounted in a delivery van. Lol
