The best thing is that this was foreshadowed all through the game, like everything plays like an instrument, there are mechanics based on rhythm and there are even musicals during levels

I love how when occasionally Bowser just starts pumping up the crowd in the background I can't help but imagine him doing that to Pump Up The Jam by Technotronic lol
After years of having 2D Mario games being way too similar with each installment, I think this is something the 2D Mario genre DESPERATELY needed. The final result, being absolutely fantastic (but this final level is kinda hard. It took me like 20-30 minutes to beat lol) 👏

This Mario game was not challenging in any way I beat it within a week considering it takes me a while to beat any Mario game

Though I will say Wii's final boss theme went really hard and sounded super epic when it didn't have to be, and that segment running from Bowser was really epic and executed well. Though this one is definitely fresh, and unique for 2D mario....
Fun fact if you equip peach or the invisibility badge on the bowser fight bowser will say secret dialog like “MY BELOVED” or “I CAN SEE YOU” like that

Bowser jamming to the music in the background, having to jump at the right time to hit Bowser (and also his hands), the music is BANGING, and buildup to the fight is really well done with the crowd chanting before you arrive to the arena.
This boss is what we may not have expected, but it's a fun time, especially doing this with no badge and only small form (meaning you can't take a hit).

Bowser gave us a great show!! Greatest videogame villain ever. Beat him on my first try though. I was also expecting to fight the entire castle itself.
Well in order to destroy something huge like the entire castle, you gotta destroy the core.

I like how none of the final 5 levels have any lava. The final levels in every other 2D Mario have lava, so Nintendo's trying something new this time.

I agree with the comparison between two bosses.
"head and hands" bosses (such as tiki tong) have been around nintendo games for decades. didn't think mario wonder would join the trend
tbh y’all are complaining cuz you want a ‘fair’ challenge. If it’s too easy, you’ll complain. If it’s too hard, you’ll complain. There is NO middle apparently with it being medium as y’all always want a challenge. Yet the company produces an either too hard or easy challenge and again, more complaints. There is literally Special World if you want that challenge, even a secret final level for people who are very dedicated.
I do get that the floating hands, floating boss is somewhat unoriginal, but it’s a lot better than having no changes to the final boss like just Bowser on its own. Although the final boss can be underwhelming, you still have Special World and a few other levels in world that have a good challenge in them.
They havent done bowswr on his own in a while (talking axe bridge style) but every other nsmb bowser boss is better than this honestly. Head and hands boss was cool like 20 years ago. Doesnt even have to be difficult, all mario games are easy. But they couldve done better for a final boss, id be embarassed to make this

The shifting end stage reminded me a lot of the shifting final stage in R-Type Final 2, it’s rare to see one stage continuously change in such creative and unique ways.
By FAR the best music in the game. My jaw dropped upon hearing this, and it fits the atmosphere of the final area perfectly. Not to mention the levels themselves are some of the coolest in the whole game. This melody and instrumentation just goes way too hard man

This was the first game I ever played. I wish Wonder had original bosses like this game. This is the only thing that they messed up. They could have done something incredible with the wonder power, but they only used it on Bowser.Jr.

Jokes aside, yes the final boss is underwhelming, but besides that the e game is still amazing, and probably the best 2D Mario game ever.
Edit: Honestly the final boss has grown on me. Just wish there was something more because it felt way to easy.

The first half of this level goes weirdly well with You've Never Had Chocolate Like This from the Wonka soundtrack.
This is a major improvement over the last games! This final battle with Bowser is a music battle concert where the player(s) and Bowser go with the beat of the music and the player(s) hit Bowser’s weak point at the right beat, instead of dropping the bridge to cause Bowser to fall.
This game was great but lacked in boss fights they were too easy.
Both Bowser and Bowser Jr. had menacing voices when they had Wonder flower powers. Really hoped for a more challenging fight like how DS had when fighting both Bowser and Bowser Jr. at once. Shame Nintendo.

Gotta admit I love this Bowser version being a showrunner. I was expecting something really crazy because of the Wonder power, but this surprised me in a very good way.
For me, Wonder set up a very high standard for the next 2D Mario games in the future.

This fight glitched out for me, I had to wait a few minutes before Bowser moved on to the final phase
Never thought I would see the day where a Bowser battle has Bowser take the form of having only a head and hands similar to bosses like Andross from Star Fox, I had been imagining that for YEARS though it didn’t look quite like that in appearance obviously.

Thus morning, I have beat the final boss. It took a bit of trial and error on this level to get there, but I did it. Also, I"m not sure about you guys, but I found the final boss to be surprisingly easy. I beat it on the first try and without taking any damage I think. I haven't beat the game 100% yet, but will. But man, what a game this is. It does feel like a breath of fresh air for the franchise. Imaigne if Nintendo adapts this into a Mario movie sequel.
