TREK SUPERCALIBER RIDE REVIEW

I was Lucky enough to have the Trek Super Caliber for 2 weeks to test on the trails of the Western Cape that the Cape Epic uses. Disclaimer this video was edited before the announcement go the TREK PIRELLI Teams absence at the ABSA Cape Epic.

At last a good review, riding in different conditions. I’m changing from giant anthem and yesterday ordered 2 trek bikes remedy 9.8 2021 and supercaliber 9.8 GX 2022, the only bummer is they are arriving until March 2022.

Would like to see some videos on how to adjust the rear suspension. Also, would be nice to see how you added your shim to the rear suspension. Very nice bike. I'm getting mine Saturday!!! I've been riding a hardtail for 20+ years so the rear suspension is new territory for me.

Start off with bike fit, then move on to shock pressure as indicted by the supplied charts with reference to your weight, sag and shock rebounds.
It's really easy but most people just ride without taking the time to attend to this.

I'm 80 kilos and about to take delivery of a supercaliber what pressure will I need to set the rear shock at for my weight, and will I need to use the spaces?

Hi there, I dont have the chart with me sorry but use the suspension chart.
Check the sag and depending on the terrain you ride will determine what amount of spacers you need.

How was it for small bump compliance? (What I am looking for in an XC full suspension.) How does this frame compare to like a Specialize Epic or Giant Anthem? (If you've ridden those.)

Hi there, I haven't ridden those two only a Scalpel Si. I run lower tyre pressures round 20psi so really small vibrations are lapped up but the Supercaliber does have compliance on the small bumps too but needs impact from say rocks to really take advantage of the travel. If you can I would try grab one off their demo program for a weekend and test it. It's a very lively bike. What sold me is the geometry and power efficiency of pedals like a jack rabbit.
