Developed by Trek engineers over three years, the Supercaliber made its first stealth-like appearance in 2019 at the Nove Mesto UCI World Cup race with top riders Jolanda Neff and Emily Batty pushing the design of the bike to its limits. While spectators watched
that weekend’s race, the design was still under development and literally covered up on the frames that the riders were testing. At the time, it left viewers asking, “Is it a hardtail? Wait, is there a shock under the cover?” The cat has since been let out of the bag to reveal Trek’s latest suspension design known as the IsoStrut shock. Fast-forward to the present, and the Supercaliber is no longer exclusive to World Cup athletes.

Only thing that would make it perfect. Shimano xtr instead of sram. Xtr is hands down the best drivetrain you can get on a mountain bike in my opinion 👍

100% agree. My 2020 Supercaliber came with XTR.

I have a 9.8 and compared to my previous Spark the Supercaliber gets a lot of pedal strikes.. but its fast as shit though.. 🚀

@@darthstormy8588 my Supercaliber is super fast, but its a hard ride. Spark had more travel but not as fast .
Had my frame replaced after about a year because decals came off . This week the bike went in for a warranty repair on a squeaky isostrut . The supercaliber is very capable but at 52yrs old I think its more that I can handle... It wants more from you.. more than most riders can give .

It's insane that bikes can cost 10k+. I can buy a brand new dirt bike(with motor) for that money and at least you can put those on payment plans. It blows my mind that bike companies get away with these prices. That bike should be 5k tops which is still expensive.

So you don’t want bike manufacturers to make a profit? Once you look at the cost of research and development, engineering, carbon frame manufacturing and the individual components then it doesn’t take much to get up there in price. Not to mention there’s shipping, installation, follow up tune ups and warranty. If you don’t like the price and know what you’re doing then buy a bike frame and do your own build, you’ll likely save a couple of grand.
