There is something indeed beautiful about assembling your own bike, tweaking it to perfection, training on it for racing then winning your races or at least do really well. It's a beautiful thing.

I never hear anyone say it, but Trek (IMHO) make some of the most beautiful machines, money can buy! My 2010 Elite 9.8 XC hardtail, STILL gets envious looks from people, even though it's near vintage, now! 🤣 (not a humble-brag, that really does happen!) The Supercaliber is undoubtedly my dream XC bike, now! NICE video!

I’d love to hear a review on this sick ride! I’ve been intrigued with it as I contemplate switching from my hard tail. Mainly ride XC type trails and am a lighter rider (145lbs)...not sure it’s necessary for me to have 100mm in rear. Please share your thoughts on the 60mm travel in rear and overall impressions of this amazing bike. Thanks!

Raivis Jansons fair enough. I have never been a fan of the stans tape because of it degrading over time. I will sacrifice the weight for the simplicity.

Great video, I'm lucky enough to have a 9.9 ssl hardtail, its 8.4kg race spec or 9.2kg reliability/xc marathon spec, what does that build weigh?

But is that a 29er? 9.9ssl was a 26inch bike. Procaliber’s and Superfly’s where only made 9.9sl

Never mind the build and the cost, why do people still build bikes without frame protection, it makes no sense not to protect your frame for when the inevitable happens.
I always out All Mountain frame protection on all my bikes as much as possible

Is it just me...or are some components used? Usually dream builds are "Everything" brand new.
I also noticed some components aren't new, like the shifters or the brakes maybe... Not a dealbreaker for me.
I would be more than happy to ride that bike😉

Some components where used from previous bike - can’t afford everything 🥵 Some parts will be changed when piggy bank will be full again. Some parts will stay the same - personal preferences.
dream? its only puts the original pieces in the frame, with a almost- gravel tyres and cheap brakes

nzspambot bike was built out of parts which I prefer to race on and which I find most comfortable and reliable. shimano doesn't make power meters and xtr brakes have disappointed me in past. Just personal preferences
A little surprised you didn’t go for a much cleaner AXS wireless setup. Droper, RD, rear lockout would have looked neater. Deore, XT, XTR, SLX brakes all the same to me, shimano cant be beaten when it comes to breaks.

personal preferences, had a lot problems with xtr m9000 so last season decided to use m8000 and had no issues.

Actually he did use a torgue wrench more than most of the dream builds - on seatpost and stem (red Bontrager T-handle is a pre-set torque tool).
Excellent video. But please don't put again that type of music. It was really unpleasant.

Sloppy build. Very robust treatment, for example sliding the brakes over the handlebar. Where is the finesse?
