    Learn how to play You Shook Me All Night Long as performed by AC/DC from their legendary Back in Black album from 1980. The lesson focuses on Angus' parts covering the intro and solo. The rhythm chords have some nuance to how they were played and I encourage you to visit Andre Heiji Kozuma's video where he covers that part of the arrangement perfectly - check it out • How Angus and Malcolm ... .
    Got a suggestion for a piece of a song to cover on an upcoming episode? Leave it in the comments, would love to hear ideas.

    You really are a great teacher…such attention to detail, and you pace your lessons perfectly (re: not too slow, not too fast). Well done, as always!

      Agree. If people don’t like teachers who talk, plenty of other options on YT, I like this one.

    Angus and Malcolm playing very different things.....this was very interesting and very informative...thanks man. I don't know why I'm like this but I really like to play exactly the way my heroes do!!! I'll forever play it like Angus actually did!!!

    That solo will never get old. I dont play acdc records everyday anymore but when i hear this one on the radio, i still turn it up. Its like many george harrisson solos, its a song within the song.. great job

    For a band that gets accused of playing "simple" music so often by the press, it's bloody ridiculous just how bad tablature books and guitar magazine transcriptions of their music is.
    I've never seen the riffs to "Let's Get It Up" "Shot Down In Flames" "Moneytalks" "Girls Got Rhythm" "Bad Boy Boogie" to name just a few; transcribed correctly anywhere (except by people like your goodself, 12 Foot Chain)
    I love what you're doing on your channel as I'm completely OCD about classic Rock!

      I've got lots more AC/DC in the future, can't believe it's taken me this long to start on those. I know what you mean about bad documentation out there. Erin go bragh!

    Ive been playing since i was in my 20s im 56 now and finally gotten serious enough to try to nail these leads and with teachers there are alot of techniques to teach the same exact notes but your timing and organization of the lead part and time you spend on each one is perfect , not to much not to little, im leaning teachers are like gloves they all keep your hands warm some just fit alot better than others

    did a great job with this.. and yes, Andre does a lot of research.. does a great job with ACDC.. I was hoping that was the bassman in the background you were using.. a suitable substitute for a Marshall of course.. great job.. nice pace..

    I have liked your lessons, ever thought about talking about getting good tones for these songs? I seem to spend too much time trying to get good sounds for cover songs....

    • @castleanthrax1833
      @castleanthrax1833 Рік тому

      A lot of it has to do with volume. Even in the studio they played loud, so it's difficult to reproduce their sound at lower volumes.

    Have recently found your channel and have subscribed as your content/ lessons are outstanding. Wondering how you are getting that awesome Angus tone . I have an SG, Fender Tonemaster and a variety of drive pedals, but can’t emulate your tone. Any tips for me?

      Hey Bill - when I did this video, I was running stereo out from my pedal board into 2 fender amps - a 64 super reverb and a 63 bassman. I used a Boss Blues driver for overdrive, and pretty sure drive was set to about 10-11 o'clock. What you hear on the video is a mix of what was picked up from those amps thru shure 57 mics, + what was pickedup on my lapel mic. Then all that gets crunched when you upload that onto UA-cam by whatever audio compression happens on their end. So its super tough to decipher what you hear on YT and match it up with your own stuff. I am always surprised how different this stuff sounds on TY vs what it sounds like to me in the room playing it. I am no audio engineer, but do the best I can to try to end up with a sound on YT that is close to whatever I'm demo'ing, but not skilled enough to really get it right. If you have a Deluxe Tone Master, I'd recommend getting a good amount of crunch coming from that, use the attenuator on back if you need to, then if you think you need a little more something, then try small amounts of overdrive (not distortion but overdrive) from one of your pedals to get it closer to what sounds right to you. And the trick is to not overdo it on the overdrive too much. thats my 2 cents. Thanks a ton for watching

      @@12footchain Wow, thank you for your detailed and much valued advice! I’ve got an SG as well and also a BD2, so I’m going to crank up my Tonemaster and see if I can get close to your tone, which was perfect for that song. Thanks again for your help. I’ll be catching up on your other videos as well!

    I hate to be "that guy" but you've left out a number of notes in the solo, particularly in section 1A, but also in 2B. I've spent the last couple of weeks doing this song with my tutor, playing along with the recording over and over, note for note so am particularly attuned to it right now!
