So blessed to have found John in 1999 due to meeting my husband who had been a fan for a few years. We love folk and since John Prine passed away John is our favorite. Thanks for posting❤
John Gorka has always been one of my favorite singer songwriters. I only had the pleasure of seeing him one time in Collingswood, NJ. It was John, Patty Larken, Cliff Eberhart & Cheryl Wheeler. It was one of the best shows of singer songwriters I'd ever seen. I just Love his deep resinous voices I think his tone is Amazing. I Saw a Stranger w/you're hair is one if not my favorite of, in my opinion, one of the best singer & songwriters.
I'm embarrassed to say that this is the first time I'm hearing of this artist. I very much enjoyed his singing and guitar playing. I've discovered that Mr Gorka will be performing nearby next month - my wife and I will certainly be taking in his show. Thanks for posting this very nice video.
Don't be embarrassed Sonnito; there are so many gifted artists that go unheard by most of us. I just consider it a gift when someone like this crosses my path and adds another half dozen songs to an ever expanding repertoire of music. Some other relatively recent discoveries for me have been Lynn Miles, Annie Bethancourt, Otis Taylor, Ray LaMontagne and don't LAUGH, Bruce Cockburn, I must have been living under a rock to miss him. Enjoy the journey... it will never cease to amaze you.
Beautiful performance and production. I have had two of the three songs on albums for years but there is a heartfelt performance that is close to "being live'. Outstanding.
I'm a big fan John and not just because I grew up in North Plainfield and Green Brook just off route 22. Perhaps you've met a friend of mine in your career, Randy Blain, who's another immensely gifted artist and Jersey boy. Just wanted to say "hello" and wish you much joy and love in your travels. Perhaps one day I'll be able to play one of your tunes back to you and share some of mine as well. LP&H
That's interesting. I'm also from Green Brook (GBHS Class of '78), but your name isn't familiar so I'm guessing we lived there at different times. John and his buddy Richard Shindell are two great Jersey born artists not to be missed when they land nearby. Seen John twice and he always gives a great show. Gifted writer, nimble guitar player and wonderful singer. Favorite song? "Where the Bottles Break". :-)
Good morning Wayne, I actually graduated from NP in 71 and bought my home in Green Brook a few years before you graduated. My ex and daughter are still in that home but I have been in VT for the past 15 years. Miss the music scene down there, it was very rich. Check out the local "meetup.com" music groups. If I was still there I would definitely be playing with as many people as would put up with me! :) Thanks for saying hello and we'll both keep an ear out for new songs from John.
First Heard John at the Minstrel Coffee in NJ back around 1998ish when I was working the sound board as a volunteer, Also love his voice and guitar style ..

I love your heart and your beautiful talent, John Gorka. Met you briefly in Fishers, IN back in the early 2000s and haven't looked back.

Top shelf production values...what a treat! Dank u wel JGV.
I adore this song so very very much. First heard you sing it live in San Diego, long before you recorded this.

I love Sinatra, I prefer your version John. Happy to say it.
I applaud you had the chance. I wrote Mr. Gorka to come to Texas and he was cordial but not in this area. Wish I could see him live.
