      It’s so hard…I struggle with this so much! I know it affects other aspects of my life as well. I definitely have an imbalance of focus on what I haven’t accomplished compared to what I have. It’s so hard to celebrate yourself.

    Loved the weekly reset! I realized that i’ve been doing this without putting a name to it for awhile now and it really makes you feel so accomplished to set your home back to “factory settings”. 😂 I’m currently also decluttering and it’s been refreshing to have open space in areas normally jam packed.

    Thank you for being that real relatable human, it is SO motivating. Much more than shiny homes with immaculate decoration.

    YES so true about the 40 hour work week! There just aren't enough hours in the day to get it all done. Those people you see on YT that have super clean and organized houses have to spend at LEAST 2 hours per day cleaning it....I for sure don't have time for that, lol! Just do what you can do and that is enough. I also have issues with not having places to store things and not putting things away so I am working on that as well. Have a wonderful week Carla!

    Yes, your appartement looks great even when not have it all cleaned up by now. BTW: one thing that helped me with the bedding is folding the blanket part, one of the pillow cases and put it in the remaining pillow case. That way I have all the matching pieces in one space and it saves some space

    We quit using fitted sheets.
    We use flat sheets for the matress just fold under at the corners. It is amazing!
    No more frustration with trying to fold fitted sheets and making them fit in the drawer.

    I love this weekly reset. It just shows that small, simple efforts can add up to something big. Your point about the 40 hour work week is spot on. Single mom here trying to fit everything in and always feeling like there's never enough time. You've reminded me that it's OK to feel overwhelmed sometimes. Just doing what we can is enough sometimes.

    Honestly your vlog is my far the most inspirational personally. Something about watching you on your journey that really clicked with me and inspired me to purge a considerable amount of stuff and I did more today (months later). I am selling all of the dresses I never wore or wore once on a friend’s site and donated the rest of the clothing I was ready to let go. Now I am letting go or more decorations and anything else I can! So liberating! 🌈your bathroom video was really helpful because I always felt like I had too much stuff in the bathroom but didn’t know how to handle it. I was always envious of people who had 5 items in their bathroom. I definitely need more than that haha but was wishing I could simplify.

    Have you ever heard of or used the "Furminator"? It is a brush for animals to comb their fur and takes out loose hair highly efficiently. My parents had a long haired shepherd dog and my mom used to brush the dog around every other day and there was rarely found any dog hair in the house. Maybe that helps with your Samson as well :)

    I've finally decided that I am not ever going to be a minimalist. I've made progress and I still have some to go but I like my stuff. I love gallery walls and beautiful and interesting things. And that's ok. Walls with nothing on them, flat surfaces and shelves that are bare feel cold and sterile. So I won't ever be on that path. However what I have learned is to let go of anything that I don't love, or doesn't bring me joy. And I have learned to stop buying anything that doesn't make me happy. Too many years of focusing on quantity rather than quality. Now I spend the money to get what I love rather than thinking I need to get the most bang for my buck.

    • @TheCarlaProject
      @TheCarlaProject  2 роки тому +1

      girl that's me you just said my philosophy to a tee. i love design decor and pretty things AND i love simplicity functionality and having nothing more than what i deem beautiful and needed.

    • @ourtubesocks
      @ourtubesocks 2 роки тому +1

      There’s also a difference between minimalist design (what you’re describing, often bare and modern looking) and minimalist mindset (only bringing things into your home that you use and love, having a small enough collection of items so you can spend your time doing things you enjoy instead of taking care of stuff).

    I struggle with the same thing ( putting things back ). My problem is I hate to put things away I use all day long. But on top of that I have other things I should be better about. Mostly leaving clothes laying around. Have you ever tried putting pepper on cantaloupe.. It's so good and I put salt on watermelon? It's definitely hard just keeping the house up let alone people with jobs and or kids. I don't know how some people do it. You are making such good progress. Samson looked so happy getting his bath. She does have an extra layer on, probably to probably to keep her duvet clean with the dog. Top sheet is used between the bottom sheet and the bed cover. most people don't wash their bed cover as often as sheets. I use a duvet, but to wash a duvet cover and get it back on the king size duvet is too hard for me. Got any tips?

      too many damn layers haha i don't know why we do fitted and flat sheets but on top of that i have my duvet in a cover and then a quilt 😄

    Random Thoughts on the video
    1. Hello Fresh may have a mini heart attack over your sponsor :-D (no criticism, get those coins Carla, I just found it funny)
    2. The ice roller moment is such a mood and I love it!
    3. The 40h thing makes so much sense
    4. Love the peacock sheets!
    5. Those last items are somehow so hard to get rid off? Kind of like when you start a diet and it goes great but the last 2 pounds takes 6months to lose.

    Love the peacock sheets. Fitted sheets are the worst. There's a UA-cam video on it. Just a matter of folding the fitted corners into each other on the first 2 folds. Good luck. Putting things away, just get a cat. You'll learn fast to put things away.
