There are 5,500 Domino's in the US, which rely on their own manufacturing centers for fresh dough. In the Connecticut center alone, over 125,000 dough balls are sent to stores in the northeast each day!

Back when I use to work for dominos, I had a manager who was an absolute pro at making pizzas and all his pizzas came out looking this good. He could prepare a pizza in seconds with all the topping and it always came out looking visually delicious and he knew when to take it out of the oven. Even if we were busy, he never made a bad pizza. Dude was truly a pro.
It's nice to see the higher-ups actually be able to do things than just corporate guy

I work at Dominos in Australia, and we manually make the dough in the store instead of delivered from a factory
Yeah, I was just going to say, in Australia they look nothing like that, much more smaller, unless you get the 15" NYC style pizza, 3 different flavours but still look nothing like that, way more fillings on those U.S. pizzas, but I still really enjoy a cheesy crust base.
Work at dominos too in Australia, since we make it ourselves I think there's a lot less 'chemicals' that go into our dough

I will say, after working at my wife’s Pizza Hut, and knowing dominos, they use the same process and machines. I worked for my wife out of boredom, to help her store and I’m an ex PMC/Contractor Operator and military contract sales executive. Those ovens are still amazingly awesome to me. It may be simple, but man they’re timed perfectly with the right crew.

these guys have come a longggg way since the early 2000's!! i remember being a literal 6 year old and all of my friends agreeing that dominos was horrible. if a child says a pizza is bad you know its gotta be true cause children love pizza lol. fast forward to me in high school and dominos becoming my favorite after school food spot! this company definitely listens to their customers!
that's because somewhere in the late 00s or early 10s they realized that hey, people don't like their pizza! so they figured out that they needed a better sauce or something and that's how their pizza got so much better since, and I myself thought dominos just tasted of cardboard with cheese the first time I tried it

As someone who used to work there I can say in Australia we made the dough in the stores and it takes ages and then you individually make each base. Plus each ingredient on the pizza is measured and you don't get as much on your pizza as in this video.

Ive been inside one of the center and am a manager at a store. This is pretty accurate. The one thing I would say is that the deliveries are only 2 times a week not 3. And that the stores are not that clean nor are the ingredients that fresh and bright.

And considering how it taste now (verse the old cardboard crap they use to have) this process is about right, so much better then it was years ago and a huge step up from Little Caesars (who now tastes like cardboard and is over processed).

“Handmade” when referring to pizza dough means the act of cutting the dough, rolling it into dough balls and stretching it. This is correct and honest. No pizza business can hand-knead 100’s of pizza’s worth of dough a day and expect to turn a profit. The gluten is always developed in a mixer, even at your local mom and pop place in Italy.
The difference is, real pizza dough does not contain oil in the dough itself (and I promise, they’re not using extra virgin olive oil) and a “goodie bag,” which is slang for preservatives and “dough conditioners” to prevent the dough from taking on negative qualities as it is shipped across the country.
Real pizza dough contains no oil, but it is baked with a thin layer of extra virgin olive oil spread on top of the dough between the dough and tomato sauce. The oil layer prevents the moisture of the sauce from penetrating the dough and making a “gum layer” in the crust. This is the secret for crisp pizza crust.
This is a good take. Ppl always try to discredit Domino's by comparing it to pizzas from mom and pop shops. Give mom and pop 15,000 stores to supply and see how "authentic" their pies are then. At the end of the day, its carbs with melted cheese on top delivered to your door, what more can a person ask for out of life?
oil in the dough adds a lot of flavor during baking, that's one. you'll notice big chain pizzas have a lot more flavor in the dough, they taste like french fries or something, compared to neapolitan 'classic' pizza shops where the flavor is from the toppings
and second, the goodie bag must contain some other things, like MSG, maybe garlic powder, a little ascorbic acid and who knows what else, im actually curious, you dont need to put in preservatives when its 2 or 3 day dough at most

I went to my favourite Domino's pizza place and it had changed a lot. The workers were totally different than before. I ended up barfing my cheese bread. Never went back.

In my 30 years, I have never had a dominos pizza look that good

I mean don't get me wrong, I love Dominos pizza, it's always pretty tasty and I always could go for a slice or two, but the best Domino's pizza was when my grandpa worked at Domino's during 2015-2017. He made the best pizzas. The crust was so soft and buttery, perfect amount of sauce and covered in cheese and pepperoni. We would always bring his pizzas to family get-togethers.

It depends on the pizza maker: I usually get my pizza delivered, and sometimes the same product looks really good, but sometimes I am not satisfied that much. Considering it may cost as a decent dinner at a restaurant, I wish they put more quality into their products. Just sharing my experience..
