Only 275 humans have ever climbed to the top of all 50 US states. I am honored to be one of this group of crazy people! Next up: Everest. I leave for Nepal on March 31, 2025.
Just sat next to Nick on a plane back from Boise. A grandma was bragging about her grandson meeting Tim Tebow, not knowing she was sitting next to an Olympian. He never said a word about himself. Shows what a humble guy he is! But I am glad he was only joking to me about being out of the UA-cam game hahaha
As someone who has been in a few of your events. I am extremely happy to see you back!!! You've managed to conquer one of the hardest feats humanly possible on this planet. Seriously, climbing denali is no joke. The highest I've currently climbed is Mount Adam's which I did at 11 years old while sick. (Still the hardest thing I've done in my life.) I haven't hiked in a pretty long time though unfortunately, but I would still really like to mountains like: hood, south sister, middle sister, Saint Helens, maybe even killimanjaro when I'm a bit older! Anyway. I'm glad to see you back on UA-cam. I've missed you a lot over the past 9 months. And I wish you the best of luck on Mount Everest!
23:40 when the guy ahead drops to his knees, I felt that. Also, Nick, I spent over half my life trying to break 16 minutes in the track 5K. I finally did it this year, at the age of 29. I had the exact same emotions. Couldn’t stop crying, not because I was excited that it was done, but almost devastated that the goal was gone. It was like an old friend. At the same time, it was like something that had held me captive, trapped me. And I was free. There’s just some thing about those goals that you fight with for over a decade.
Nick! I am so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I watched you in the Olympics, I’ve watched your UA-cam channel, I completed your 1 more Lap challenge, and now this huge accomplishment. I had no idea how tasking this trek was, but you did it!!!
hey Nick my fifth grade class did a wax museum and decided to be you so I dressed up like you and i wrote paragraphs about you I just think you're an awesome person I been fan since I was 7 now I am 12 but I just wanted to say keep being you. Thanks for coming back . From ben ❤
My heart rate got to 165 on the Assault bike regularly and I felt like I wanted to pass out. I couldn’t imagine being on a mountain having my heart stay at that rate. Congratulations Nick. I got emotional watching him get emotional because you could only imagine the joy reaching the summit.
This is why we stay subscribed during the quiet time. A great video with an awesome accomplishment. Proud of you and hyped for you. Thank you for sharing this with us. Stay Rad
So glad you're back on UA-cam Nick, and what a return this video was!! Absolutely awesome video, super inspiring and fascinating to watch. Thanks for sharing this awesome journey with us! Can't wait to see future videos from you, and Mt. Everest next year!!! Let's go!
i can't believe my eyes... The famous olympian we all know and love is back and he came back so strong with climbing mountains. We love you Nick and Welcome back to UA-cam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not uploading for years only to come back outta nowhere and climb mt Denali then casually tell us he is going to on an everest expedition and summit everest, this gotta be some of the most badass shit I've seen in a while
It's nowhere near Denali but I did the Salkantay Trek in Peru in April (15,000 ft) and watching Nick's altitude acclimation and the oxygen readouts really brought me back. Super important to take time to acclimate, hydrate, deep breaths, and some caffeine. The headaches in the morning and after naps were rough for me at first. Your body doesn't know to breath faster/deeper while asleep. I imagine people with severe sleep apnea experience similar oxygen deprivation at night. Not a good feeling, but the body is resilient and adapts to the altitude with time. Grateful that I didn't get too sick and had an unforgettable experience
I summited the same day Nick did, he was in another team but we had chatted along the way. It's super interesting to hear a professional sports influencer take on this mountain. I'll tell you, it felt easier listening to him! It was hard! But he is an olympian.... Things he didn't mention - earlier in the season, there was a 50% of climbers had frostbite. Two people on our team had frostbite. I've climbed Denali twice and both times we've had a serious and deadly medical emergency. It's the single most beautiful place I've ever been. The ridge lines are quite steep on both sides and it doesn't look so bad in the video. Like Nick mentioned, he couldn't film on the most dangerous bits, which then always hard to show people. Most of the "no fall" zones are areas that are steep and right over crevasses. Depending on the conditions, if it's icy or not, then there is no possibility to self arrest. Getting that big snow fall at 11,000 feet made the conditions much safer in Squirrel Hill and Windy Corner, for example. Denali was a 12 year goal for me. Gorgeous mountain. Best wishes, Nick, next year on Everest!
I've been waiting for your return. Your videos helped me through a hard time from July of 2023 until now. I was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer last July and underwent 7 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, plus the recovery. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I am doing so much better than I had gotten to. Your videos gave me some real joy during some of the harder times, and I was sorry to reach your pause. I am stoked to see you back and really look forward to seeing your future endeavors.
Incredible! I took a plane tour around Denali last May 2023 and saw climbers and the pilot lot gave some info. So incredible! What a majestic place too. Glad to see you back!
Beautiful coverage of your journey Nick! Especially, the updates on your health and mental state, as well as all the little details most of us lower-peak amateurs never have to think about (but aspire to!). You're an inspiration man 🙏
Glad I was finally able to sit down and watch the whole thing through. Great video, and congratulations on accomplishing one more huge goal on your list of life achievements Nick. Way to keep living like a main character and inspiring others to do the same!
Me. I believe he deceived us by saying he’s back. It’s literally been over 4 months since he’s last posted. I kind of lost my respect for him since he’s not being transparent about why he’s been gone for so long. It’s kind of like he ghosted us. Of course, I will still support him when he climbs Mt. Everest. I totally respect him for training to climb Mt. Everest.
Congrats Nick!! The 50 US Highpoints is a once in a lifetime achievement! Last year I was a part of team that set the Guinness World Record for the fastest to climb all 50 states and your video brought back a lot of great memories 🙌
My man's back and he's back with a banger! Amazing video Nick, had me hooked in the entire time. I wish you the very best for your training and climb for the Everest. Godspeed, mate.
Congratulations on your accomplishment. Excellent videography Nick, I wish you the best on your future adventures, thanks for taking us along your journey.
Gotta say, this was just beautiful! Congratulations on your success and I hope you conquer Mnt Everest aswell! I'll be here to watch. I can't wait. Welcome back.
you're an inspiration to me i swear . like dude seriously your videos and mentality hats off dude hats fucking offff !!! i cried when you cried reaching the top of the summit , i know that feeling and sooo wanna enjoy that feeling of accomplishment , the feeling of beating my emotions and my own inner negative voices down and getting something so incredible done , we people are like on a mission to give our bodies our minds the extremes and demanding from them to go above the threshold and do the things . i love your videos and the mentality of never stopping never stooping down on the past and just wish i could go back , i wanna live like you on my own journey . SUCH AN INSPIRATION !! love you Nick Symmonds and am truly honored to have subscribed to your channel , thankyou so much for just being who you are !!
