Of course he’s the marketing team. This is a very entertaining and fun advertisement. Totally support it!!
ikr these videos are basically just ads but I still like it
On shoes are good as hell anyway, I seriously recommend
@@taylorandersen7216 yes they are good but they are expensive and they are not good if you run on any Rock surface
@@taylorandersen7216 yup
I also liked this video but isn't that illegal? This is clearly an advertisment without it being marked as such.

You could with _Run Gum!_
You wanna know something crazy. When I was 15 my best friend killed him self and I got really depressed and within 3 months I went from a physical fit 180 to out of shape and over weight 270. It wasn’t until by random chance I was at the gym my sister worked at waiting for her to get off I was bored and saw a running magazine that looked interesting. The magazine was doing a special on Nick Symmonds and it went into detail on his workout routine and training habits etc… What interested me most about the magazine was how he had a 1 month workout schedule that he made super easy to follow along. The great thing about the program was that he focused on a a lot of pool exercises so being over weight it was much easier for my body to get used to that. After following that for a month I noticed a great change in my body and become fully committed to the fitness lifestyle. Within 3 months I was back down to 190 and in the best shape of my life.
Now I am 21 still into fitness and I have to say thank you Nick, you unintentionally helped me change my life around when I was in my lowest point in my life.
Recently I just watched your “running a mile every hour for 24 hours” and it wasn’t until after the video that it clicked in my head that you were the dude on the magazine I read 6 years ago!
Thanks for everything you do you’re a great inspiration. I’m glad I was able to express how great full I am for what you did to my life I hope you get the chance to read this.
I can appreciate your story, but it's hard for me to believe you put on a pound per day, and then took it off just as quick. Was the timeline perhaps a little longer than 3 months?
@@10willybilly Good job. While knowing your workout plan would be interesting, what's more interesting to me is the mindset it would take to turn it around. I've gone through that in my life, it's like a switch turning on, but I wonder about the spiritual change, the paradigm shift, the mindset it takes to do that. There are always other factors going on--if we could really explain that we'd have something.
@@10willybilly I am currently 6’2 at 280 lbs and I’ve been having trouble losing weight. I’d like to know your workout plan and diet. I have been seeing some improvement at the gym but it’s mostly in strength and not weight loss
*everybody liked this*
@@crowszer8566 I’m not him but I think your not in a calorie deficit, try eating 300ish less calories for a month and see how it goes? Goodluck!
That throat slit on the 200 was brutal

I always wondered if olympians held bad blood over competition, good to know that these two, at least, are still good friends
Competitors are just friends that push you to be better
Great spirit on display in this video. 👍
While I was never an Olympian I remember running track in middle school and highschool and there was a kid from a rival school who ran the same events as me and we always ended up in the same heat and had several back and forth wins. We became friends due to the close competition
@@wesleyowens4089 nice:)
Andrew wheating working at ON explains how Oregon colors sneak into On’s lineup. Thanks both for the video
Hahaha
I honestly thought Nick would let him win that mile and the subsequent 2-mile just so it could be a best-of-seven. I underestimated his desire to NOT run 2-plus miles 🤣.
He was kind, not to go 4-0:)
He doesn't even let little children beat him, no way he'd let a good friend win haha
The fact the you two were neck and neck until the very end is everything.. great job Nick!
I love Andrew Wheating! It’s cool to see another really tall distance guy, you did him dirty by not putting his 1500 PR in there it’s crazy fast

Nick has reached a point were most of us don’t follow him only for how an amazing athlete he is, but is still nice to see that he’s still got it!
Greetings from Spain Nick! Thanks for keeping us motivated towards this amazing sport!
I only run when forced but really enjoy your channel. And as a 39-year-old man who is still a fairly formidable powerlifter, but feeling the aches a little bit while pushing towards some pretty aggressive goals for my 40th, it's good to see that even ex Olympians are human beings when not 21 and in peak shape
That eye contact, neck slicing and kick with 50m to go in that 200m was sick. Super fun to watch. Great content!
That brings back so many memories. I grew up in Eugene, in a time when the only summer programs for preteens were at South Eugene and the nearby YMCA. I raced on the South track for two years in high school, being soundly beaten by the McChesney's, of course. Keep up the great videos, Nick.
Andy looks so smooth out there. Like he's not even trying!
Nick Symmonds: the best event in track and field is the 800m
Spectators: have you never seen the women's pole vault?
Fellow man of culture
Nick definitely jogged the 400 just to make the video longer
Don't worry Nick, I'm old enough to remember the '08 Olympic Trials race. Probably one of the all time great Hayward Field moments. That crowd was on FIRE!!!
something about seeing you with your old olympian buddy is just so wholesome, i loved this
You guys are amazing, the competitiveness is very motivating! Retired Olympians doesn't mean the hunger to compete is completely gone.
Thank you for all of your running performances Andrew. Good to see you again.
Nick, love your attitude and your spirit. I've been cheering for you since the early 2000's. Keep up the great work!
This is great content. 37 year old former track athlete here in Hong Kong... running every week and hoping I still got it too!!
I am more and more in love with Nick's attitude and way of living ! You are an inspiration ! Please never lose this energy ! 😅
I run in the On Clouds as well, I'm not fast but they're still great for me. Enough ankle support and some cushion while still being able to "feel" the ground. Rocks do get directly in between the outer soles halves sometimes but not as bad as the original Nike Freerun.
Awesome flashback...you should do more races like this!
Loved that. The way you put yourself out there Nick is special
Love these 1v1 video's!
Would be amazing to see you go against another old team mate like Asthon Eaton or Jeremy Wariner.
I love to see someone who matches Nick’s energy
Crazy how Andrew is 8in taller, and ONLY 5 POUNDS HEAVIER! Andrew is a beast, but Nick is on a whole other level, plus Nick is 4 years older!
Its so weird watching guys that at one point were olympians capable of running 1:44 or faster and now are just goofing around
They were in the olympics 13 years ago… people move on with their lives.
It's amazing how quickly your physical conditioning drops after you stop competing. Your physical conditioning dropped a lot since Olympic days even though you still run regularly.
Father time is undefeated. Great to see two Olympians who still have a true love of the sport, and can compete for fun and bragging rights now.
@@draconianoz6602 i never said i was surprised just weird to see them
These videos are the best thank you for making awesome content
Awesome as always, love from Brazil!
We need more events like that.
I actually enjoyed this. Once a athlete always an athlete
Only in your mind
Wow! This just motivates me more to keep on running.
havent watched but an already tell this will be a legendary video
Let's go guys 💪👊👍
So motivating and fun 😁😎
Love your running videos guys

Ive been in Brooks runners for years but those OC look awesome, might have to check them out never heard of them before
Such a fun video! Cool looking shoes!
I love this because you dont give up, wins, you try your 100% best thats nice to see
nick the content is getting better & better bro :)
Amazing ! Real athletes !
The 200m race slit and win was hilarious!!😅😅
I love these videos , so much ads mixed in with it but its for products that actually help and are actually good
What an insane video idea!!!
You 2 did great! Good job guys
On's are great shoes. I'm a big fan of the Cloudflyer!
Great battle, Greetings from germany!
Let's go the vid we've all been waiting for
Loved it great vid excited to see the new content that's coming soon
Former competitive runner here and that was a cool video. You guys still run much? If not what do you guys do to stay in shape? I turned to cycling fo4 a couple of years but like running, it was hard on my knees. I’ve been training jiu jitsu for the last 25 years. I have about 20 years on you guys and do a short run here and there-mainly hill sprints. I miss those long runs though.
You guys killed it. I just moved to beaverton. I'll have to run that trail sometime soon, It looks nice!
Great content!! Great quality!!! 👏🏾
Impressive and inspiring gentlemen!
Wow crazy! I just ordered On Cloudswift shoes right before this video dropped! 😂 I used to rock the Adidas, but hit 500+ miles and want to try something different. 💪
Andy! So cool to see him after many years, 2008 was surreal I remember wondering who is this kid who's a head taller than everybody else was. Sweet video
How do you guys make a blistering pace look so easy and relaxed? Amazing! We’ll done!
It's slow
@@jazzle6944no it’s not, for 40 year old men who have ran hard for large part of their life. Who have so not been training for this exact day. It’s quick.
Impressive! That was great competition!
Ugh! I remember doing that back in my running days as an interval workout. 400-800-1200-1600-1200-800-400-200-200-200-200. That multiple string of 200s would be with very little rest (maybe 20 seconds). Great conditioning, but it was a b!tch doing it.
Ons are crazy comfortable and have great design, but I’d do some crazy things for ANY shoe company to develop a PROPER sprint trainer (ie 60m-400m) that keeps traction and facilitates a dorsiflexed strike without having to spike up. 🙈 If On makes one, I’m preordering today. 😂
Have you tried Nike Streak LT? I know most of the sprinters at my alma mater use them for their workouts.
@@karsonkevin2 fit was great and feltI actually have, but had to send them back after about 5 wears. The materials just didn’t hold up. 😔
Look for something with zero drop
1:52 sounded like he was rapping 😂😂
Great running!
Just Loved it, Nick
Clever idea. That was fun to watch. Insane Bolt instead of that other Bolt
I love the clouds but I noticed after 3 miles my foot was killing me. Whats a good insert for extra comfort?
The Bison versus the Giraffe just for the laughs! Great challenge! The Bison’s still got a knockout like Tyson!
Fun vid- found the channel randomly a few weeks ago and it’s great - such positive stuff
They should do it again in another 10 years time to celebrate their 20th olympic anniversary. 💪💪
This seems like so much fun!
I'll never forget the 2008 trials - Oregon sweep. That was better than a Paris Hilton appearance!
Your my inspiration Nick
Just got my first box of run gum. Excited you try it for my first meet!!
I'd have asked to start at 12.5 meters. But I guess that's why you guys are the Olympians!
I honestly don't know how this man is not at 1 million subs already
legends
I love the fact you didn't thrown the mile to make the video more suspenseful or give Andrew a pity point. great content as always.
12:52 "COOL, drip factors are high right now, did I say that right?" XDDD he seems like such a dad
At the 800m finish I heard "high knee kick" I'm think that was more of a memory then an in race reality. :) Go gett'em bison.
This is a creative challenge. This is my first time seeing anything like this, it's pretty cool!
Coolest video so far. Two legends going at it. This was really special.
Less go🔥🔥🔥
Love it! And I’m definitely buying some ONs!
Do more of these
I enjoyed watching this😄😄... I was also comparing my times to yours
I wonder if those two old folks out for their walk on the track know that it's two Olympians that just blew by them 😂😂😂
Omg this video concept is really cool
Good job guys!
I highly doubt it'd actually happen but it would be cool to see this video idea with David Rudisha
@@tomheyworth6020 He never did! No offence I am sure he would agree!
Imagine driving then looking right and seeing two Olympic athletes running together
I remember the 08 trials because I got a text from my college teammate that he was sitting behind you Nick haha.
When nick said ouch I felt that
Awesome vid!
Amazing
God damn Nick is a beast!
I wonder how much recovery time between races.
Nick teaching us how the 800 works feels like khan academy
Somewhere I have a photo from about 1974 with me and Steve Prefontaine. Thinking it was at the LA Forum. Possibly the LA Sports Arena. It was not a posed shot. A very good friend of mine snapped it.
You gotta get a 2 mile race with a bunch of people, that would be sweet!
Hey Nick, I don’t know if you’ve ever covered this on your channel, but do you intentionally strike the ground with the outside of your foot when racing? I vaguely remember seeing you in a video on an another channel as an example of a runner doing this for speed.
@@nicksymmonds Thanks for the response! I’ll definitely look into it more. Seems like you were born to run
@@David-pv4su wait what was his response?
yeah wtf he deleted it?
@@kyllianvanleeuwen8835 I don’t want to get into everything as he might’ve deleted it for a reason. The most important piece he gave was that landing on the outside of the foot is called pronation. I’ve found the video where I first heard ab it: ua-cam.com/video/MVNo4EoVkXM/v-deo.html
@@David-pv4su Okay, thanks!
Andy seems like a nice guy and great sport
