They’re never going to forget the Soviet Union is falling and Monsters of Rock in Moscow, 1991 This Soviet Union edition of the Monsters of Rock festival had an estimated 1.6 million attendees
yes, youngin it really happened. 1.6 million people…It was part of a huge festival called monsters of rock with Pantera AC/DC and Black crows…Young Russians staged a coup and in order to calm things down the government said what do you want to stop this coup? They said American rock and roll 😂😂❤🤘🏾They also played Antarctica in 2013. Just because they could😂😂😂😂
Pre phone times and concerts were it .... please all the young ones ,please go back to old school style music and bands . Bring back the raw and real music. . Rock on. 🎼🎸🤙🥁🇦🇺🍻
The Warning... The Warning is the first band of the Z generation that I have seen that really embody the real deal rock attitude and live performance ability.
Check out the history of this event! There was a hell of a lot more respect between people in those days compared to the here and now. Nobody cares about their fellow man anymore. *Sigh* But one heck of a show, that’s for sure!😎✌🏻
the concert was held at an abandoned air field. probably was the last time you'll see an american flag being waved in russia. 52 people died. my first thought was the bathroom
This has to have been one of the epic nightmares for the sound techs. Blending this into intelligible music across those distances must be insanely difficult.
This performance had the most energy, it was crazy. This was insane. I don't listen to them much but I know some songs so I knew this song already but when I watched this years back, I was like wow. Insane. Russia. Gold
Paul McCartney and Wings did a concert in Red Square. Dont remember the year. After fall of the wall. Packed. Kids on shoulders. Even cops sang to the songs.
This was a 3 day festival and Russia opened the doors to Rock N Roll. So of course people were very exited about the event. There were many great bands and Metallica was just one. The helicopters flew over to keep the crowd cooled down.
When Metallica played in Mobile, sort'a well-known by then, me and the band I was in went to the concert, and Lars was running around in the parking lot and shoving pieces of paper with his autograph on them in people's hands, ran up to our lead player and screamed something, shoved one in his shirt pocket...and Greg punched him in the eye, not knowing who he was. When they came on, and we saw Lars get behind the drums, Greg pulled out the paper...I KNOW he still has it! 😆
monsters of rock 1991 moscow (tushino airfield) AC/DC Metallica Panthera Black crows E.S.T. 1.6 mil is highly debatable... ...still it is 1+ mil 11,000 troops deployed there
One video you should really look into would be Pantera "Domination" from the same concert. God, do those boys put on a show. I'm not a big '80s heavy metal guy, but Pantera has a few song that just bang like nothing else. My favorite has to be "Cowboys From Hell." Check out the original music video. It's a freaking war dance.
Now back in the 90s the US was not like it is today, all the guard rails that everybody has up nowadays I didn’t grow up with that. And in 1991 they were celebrating the fall of communism, the iron curtain, the Berlin wall.
Two reasons. One, to drive engagement in the video comments. Congrats, you helped do that. Second, because young people have been deprived of this reality with the lack of silence to build an imagination, with the glow of phones intercepting their attention and distracting from the world.
QUEEN LIVE AID REACTION OUT NOW!
I finally got home last week. The traffic was terrible! 😎

This was badass, now imagine the wall of death when everyone does it around the stage
Yes sounded great live that’s called talent
1.6 million people. Dwarfed by Rod Stewart concert... 3.5 million people. Rumor has it that people are still trying to leave both these concerts.
1.6 million metal audience > 3.5 million Rod Stewart audience.
the history behind this makes it even more amazing!!!
It was after the Wall fell. Free concert in Moscow. 1.6 million. Pantera, Domination started the crowd going. Ozzy played too, if I'm correct?

The helicopters were trying to force air down so the crowd wouldn't overheat
What ? another fool lol. Never have I heard such BS.
Are you just trying to funny or just stupid ?

The Sars concert in toronto Canada. Had 490,000 had 3 helicopters circle the concert. They could direct the ambulance people or police to help

выглядит конечно грандиозно, нет слов...просто люди тогда ещё не понимали,что они потеряли, а что взамен получили...
It's %100 real

Enter Sandman is (arguably) the #1 heavy metal song. Metallica is still touring BTW
it was real mate they were the first to go to Russia!
Need to look at some of the crazy outside concerts that have happened in America in the last 55 years……
INXS had a great live concert video.
AC/DC, Pantera and the Black Crowes were there as well.
What ? Fool you're as clueless.
This was in Moscow, Russia that’s why the helicopters were flying overhead to keep the audience in line
Queen live aid, Robbie Williams "angels" at Knebworth, Herbert Grönemeyer "Mensch". m. Jackson at Bukarest.
I just put out a Queen Live Aid reaction, check it out!
Check out "Creeping Death" from this same show (Metallica).
They were so loud that people actually lost their hearing!
Check out Panteras set. Same Concert
Lo mejor de ver de tu reacción,fue la camiseta de Messi 💪🇦🇷, saludos de Argentina ❤
It is not weird at all to contemplate getting out of a crowd like that.
