Hope you are ok? And what a good boy he is for just standing there with his bridle off on the floor. Money can't buy a temperament like that and no one could have helped what happened. It's just one of those things. Well ridden up to that point. It also looks like a professional fall, have you had lessons on how to roll before because it looks quite smooth. Xx
Younger riders watching- Let go of the reins when you fall!!!! So important! Sometimes things happen so quick we cant do it- but you gotta try! I like how he just stood there 🧡
And if your out in a large area with lots of things they can hurt themselves or get caught on, please try *hold* the reins so your horse doesn’t go hurt itself
Urgh every equestrian falls off, and yes most of the times it's the riders fault but you can't freaking blame her for anything she did. I could go into detail about everyone falls here but that's just crazy. She fell, and i'm glad she is alright. And so is the horse! of course something even worse could have happend but IT DIDNT! so just zip your mouths and be nice.
My horse is to fat to go around the corner at 29 mph he would roll away before he got to turn XD Edit: he is not obese he is just fat he is a lesson pony and he isn't really all that bigger then what he is suppose to be but we just like to make jokes but I do love griffin
Great tuck and role, the worst is that millisecond when you realize that you are going to fall and you just get your shoulder in underneath you. Good job showing a little first-hand experience of what it looks like.
One of my worse falls was almost exactly like this. I took a 10 year old OOTB on a 1/4 mile track in my friends back yard and it was his first time back on a track. My friend was up ahead of me and we wanted just a canter she goes off and then my horse takes off full gallop. (I’m thinking his competitive side came in and he wanted to race) boy did I fall hard. It was 110% my fault but reminded me of this. Hope your okay as well!
mistakes happen. i thought you handled the fall perfectly. it’s better to roll off to the side than in front of the horse as it could cause all sorts of minor damage to his face and neck (depending how heavy you are). not sure why everyone’s getting triggered in the comments tho. mistakes happen and it’s about making the situation as good as it can possibly get that’s important and causing no excess damage x
Probably, when she'd fallen the pressure moved to behind his ears for a short time, because after that it slipped off over his ears which doesn't hurt too much and he probably saw it coming and if he did he opened his mouth for the bit. It might've scraped over his teeth or behind his ears but horses are tough animals, they can play roughly and not be hurt so don't worry :)
ormonde1111 it looks like he started to get worried about the white fencing to either side of the track. Look at his ears a head carriage and his ears, specially with how she said he‘d slowed down a bit.
Best feeling ever is coming out of a turn and onto the straight. “LUDICROUS SPEED - GO!!!” No idea why but I always thought the rider was a guy. Never occurred to me until you came off and made a distinctly female “urggh!”
he didn’t spook he tripped . if he was spooked he would have darted to a different direction. like to his left side, he simply tripped. i train horses and this, was not a spook.
As a non horse rider (❤horses) can explain what happen? Did you lose you balance leaning forward? Did he slowdown before you were ready? I'm amazed you didn't break your wrist or arm. I imagine a horse is like a boat... 35 mph is fast to the senses.
Kind of looks like the rails spooked him a little. My horse does that sometimes if i set up a new jump for her, the horse probably wasn’t familiar with the track and so it didn’t expect the rails.
Wowza, that's actually a really nice fall? That sounds weird ack, but the roll was nice considering there was little to no preparation for it. I'm glad everyone is okay, or that's what I'm taking from the comments. Great horse, amazing temperament, awesome speed! My horse is fat and lazy so I could never get her to go over 10 mph haha someday!
he went faster before he fell, he was actually at a slow pace (for a racehorse) when he stopped. He probably tripped himself by spooking at the white rails.
Ksenija Maksimora he just stopped. He had mental issues which made him do stuff like that. He was the most sure footed horse at speed you could hope for. Of you watch the approach to the rails he actually slows, ears forward, goes a little choppy then stops for no other reason than he was a bit of a nutter.
I've also fallen off a horse. When I was little I went to riding school and there was a sertain horse that just hates me. For no reason. First day I was going to ride her and she bit me(not so hard though). But she was super kind to others, and when I was riding her she turned so she could bit my leg (tried) causing me to flinch to the other side and fell.. yeah.. that was the last time I got to ride her..luckely next I got to ride a horse that became my favorite. And i loved happily ever after THE END
OMG so glad to see someone has experienced this! I still ride at a riding school and the other week was put on a horse who bit me on the leg. I was so shocked, but instead of falling I shoved her head away and switched horses lol. In 10 years of riding I never once considered that was possible.
I’ve done that before except I fell on rocks. It’s not fun at all! I was so mad at my horse because the thing that spooked him was a pole that had been laying in the same spot forever and he had seen it a million times.
Ellie Grace Mobley haha, kermit, the horse in this vid, would spook at things that were no longer there. We took him on a hack once where we walked past a parked car on a lane which was gone when we came back and we couldn’t get him past the point where it was parked. Quite funny in hind-site but really annoying at the time

Guy Finnegan So it’s ok to blame your horse on a situation you put them in? It’s a horses natural instinct to be spooked, no one should be mad at their horse. It’s not about individual differences as most equestrians use as a pathetic defence so it’s never their fault. Also, I was replying to the first guys comment
Yeah, after the first 15 seconds I figured that this wouldn't end well... did he just stumble or shy at the fences, maybe get a rock stuck in a shoe? Did seem like he was favoring one of his front legs slightly at the end...
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE COMMENT! I AM NOT TRYING TO THROW HATE! Are the horses mouth and teeth okay? I was worried since I saw that you were holding the rains while falling and that way took the whole bridle off so i thought you might have yanked at the bit and damaged his mouth and especially teeth. I also saw at the beginning of the video that Kermit was jerking his head so I thought that you might have been pulling on the rains too much which could also damage the horses mouth. He's a good boy after you fell he stood there and waited
Wonderful
damn that horse is faster than my scooter... time to get a horse then

Anonym scooters are cheaper to feed tho lol
Me personally, I never rode this horse because as you say, years of experience and even then this horse was very challenging to ride.

Kermit wanted to show you how he can stop from 30+ mph. He's like, hey, I'm fast. I also have brakes.
Great tuck and role, the worst is that millisecond when you realize that you are going to fall and you just get your shoulder in underneath you. Good job showing a little first-hand experience of what it looks like.
Yeah my first fall felt different though, I was just in the air, on the ground, and then I realized what happened, but I couldn’t believe it
And he's so good for just staying there and waiting for you!
Very useful tutorial, I was struggling with this issue.
Amazing that the horse stopped right after fall, even as bridle is dangling. Not bad for a T-bred!
One of my worse falls was almost exactly like this. I took a 10 year old OOTB on a 1/4 mile track in my friends back yard and it was his first time back on a track. Roisin Vincent, It’s a primary reflex to hold onto something. Horses have strong mouths and I’m sure the horse was okay.
Aly Marschall it’s slipped forward so the bit was good it seems

Right, so how do I fall off a racehorse?.
well first go to an indoor arena when its windy, have bad balance, and the horse will spook at the door moving.
then you will fall
If you're me? Have "just one more canter" after he starts showing signs of overexcitement.
Hope you’re ok 👌 think he might have been testing his brakes 😂 xx
Oh I see. He was going so fast that he tripped and made you fall. That happens alot on the track it could kill the horses.
+WeAreTheFallen No, he didn't trip, he just stopped, very quickly, possibly because of the approaching white rails.
