My son was able to get season ticket seats at RFK from his boss. He got them to celebrate my birthday. This was the first ever LIVE game I had ever seen(I was 43). When I climbed those steps to the entrance and saw that field under the lights it took my breath away. We were in the middle of Redskins fans (about 15 seats up on the 40). They booed us and smiled because we were decked out in Broncos gear. There was no animosity. A LOT of teasing but no anger. The memories will stay with me for many moons.
I remember watching this game and being disappointed that my childhood hero John Elway couldn't play. As a lifelong Broncos fan, I still can't believe the Redskins are no more. Thank you for posting this video.
My best friend growing up & even today is a HUGE Broncos fan. We were too young for the Super Bowl. We have had some great games throughout the years, and a lot of links when it comes to players. Always respect BRONCOS NATION.
They will be again I believe it I receive it ....we native Americans are pushing for a name change...they admit because of a bunch of blm crap...and covid caused it but it has come into consideration...it will happen
Been waiting to see this again for a long time. I never forgot this game because of the beating Denver’s DB’s laid on “The Posse” here. …In fact, because of it I thought the Broncos would be a *lot* more competitive in SB 24 than proved the case. (In fact SF said they noticed, and took advantage of the fact, that Atwater and Smith were guilty of being too focused on delivering a blow and not making a tackle.)
Wow, I've been looking for this game for YEARS. Watched it as a kid and I remember Atwater and Smith crushing the Redskins receivers and intimidating them.
@@brockgeorge777haha. Nice. I think they edited out too much from this video though. I recall Dan Dierdorf and Frank Gifford saying they've never seen the Redskins receivers drop so many passes but that commentary is not included here unless I missed it.
Washington DC was a house of horrors for John Elway in his career - the Broncos played there 3 times while he was their QB and he missed two of the games (this one and the 1998 game) and the only one he played in was a wretched 34-3 defeat on MNF in 1992 where he was intercepted 3 times and I think had a 0.0 QB rating.

@@BKNY84 watch the mid-late second half. Not only were there a lot of hits, the “commentators” finally start to comment on it.

I remember these same two teams playing at RfK with things blowing onto the field, like posters, banners, etc. Thought this was it
so did I. been looking for that game
Thanks
Elway has said he cannot eat chipped beef to this day. That is what they served them at the white house visit and what made him sick.
Awesome
Revenge
43:20 that was a fumble...
