I've gotten to the last lap with both potions, sometimes full health, multiple times. But every time the blades catch up to me.
This seems poorly designed. I've beaten Rolling Thunder, it didn't have this kind of nonsense.

I do dome skipping at 1:13 and 1:20 to shave up some time... try that to see if it works for you.
