In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Tilak Devasher, an author, and a retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India. He is currently serving as a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member and a consultant for Vivekanand International Foundation. He is the author of three widely known books based on Pakistan; ‘Pakistan: Courting the Abyss’ (December 2016), ‘Pakistan: At the Helm’ (July 2018), and ‘Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum’ (July 2019).
Today, Tilak Devasher decodes Pakistan’s current situation and also sheds light on what happened during the partition of India & Pakistan. He talks about the history of Pakistan, the real story behind the India & Pakistan Partitions, his honest opinion on present-day India, and what could have been different if the partition didn’t take place. He further dwells upon Muhammad Ali Jinnah and how he led to the partition. Along with that, Tilak sir talked about the present scenario of Pakistan and what is the situation of non-Muslims in Pakistan.
This was an in-depth conversation about the India and Pakistan partition and how it happened. We also talked about the geopolitical scenario of Pakistan. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and tell us your opinions in the comments!

Ranveer I have a content idea for you Please bring international youtubers once in a while like ksi, W2S and the sidemen they could be really inspiring for people and don't think that you wouldn't get views because the sidemen ksi and W2S have a very big fanbase like W2S has stopped doing UA-cam but still his channel gets views you can also do Logan Paul and Jake Paul (That may become controversial maybe) and you can also bring pewdiepie or Mrbeast 😁. Ranveer, not only elite people came but commoners too. My Grandfather came from Karachi along with my grandmother, they both were very young at the time of partition. They were threatened by their neighbours and friends whom they considered family to leave the property and run to save there life and dignity. My grandmother never recovered from PTSD of this life changing event.

Being a pashtun from Quetta Balochistan, I agree with everything said regarding the pashtun culture, the Durandline history, but have been enlightened and chilled with the real history of two nation theory, especially the point where Jinahh wanted to go back and live in bombay after partition. It was joyful to understand the real history which was already in place by instinct in every pakistani’s mind. Kudos to you sir Tilak!

Technically, podcasts aren't even about telling what is a lie or a truth, it's just about discussing different things and opinions about everything. So, he did his job well. His job was to just put the opinion of the person in front of everyone, whether the opinion is good or bad, it's not his problem. And, especially in a country like India, you need to be diplomatic. Podcast is about the guest. If you like the guest, then watch the episode and if not, don't watch the episode.

When used before the name, it becomes a title. Eg: Sir Don Bradman. Anyone in India who studied in a decent school would NEVER make that mistake. The keyword being decent school.

Jinnah and Muslim League accepted that confederation plan. It was Nehru who stated in his press conference after that meeting that once the Britishers leave and a united Indian government forms, we can amend the constitution as per our will. This angered Jinnah and made him concerned even more for the rights, representation of Muslims in the government. This led to Jinnah calling for the Direct Action Day.
Throwback to that one time when Mr Jinnah was done playing games.
    Context:
"We do not want war. If you want war we accept your offer unhesitatingly. We will either have a divided India or a destroyed India."
-Mr Jinnah on 16th August, 1946 aka Direct Action Day.

I identify as a Muslim, a Pashtoon, and a Pakistani, and I approach matters of nationality, ethnicity, and religion with an open mind. Eager to broaden my understanding and explore diverse perspectives, my anticipation for Mr. Tilak's discourse rested on the expectation of well-informed and fact-based insights. Regrettably, my experience left me disillusioned, as it became evident that he was essentially echoing the viewpoints of the Indian Foreign Office.
Rather than offering a nuanced perspective, Mr. Tilak staunchly defended the actions of the Modi government and India's approach to the Kashmir issue. His dismissive stance on the challenges faced by minorities in India, backed by purported surveys but lacking an exploration of the intricate realities on the ground, was disheartening. The overall impression was of an individual closely aligned with Indian state-sponsored narratives.
What struck me even more profoundly was his apparent lack of awareness or willingness to delve into the reasons behind the Indian National Congress's betrayal of Abdul Ghafar Khan during the critical moments of partition. As a Pashtoon, this betrayal holds deep significance for me, and the omission of such a crucial historical aspect left me questioning the credibility of the discourse.
Upon reflection, I find that Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad, a Pakistani professor based in Stockholm, provides a more critical and logical approach to the examination of Pakistan's past and present. His scholarly contributions offer a potentially more insightful and balanced perspective for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of the region.

As a pakistani thank you for your unapologetic expressions! You speak with your expressions! As far as the episode goes, thank you for asking the unbiased difficult question. I truly appreciate them. Cant wait to see the 2nd part. But i do want to know when was the last time your prestige guest saw the “qaida” and the textbooks being taught in pakistani public schools!? 🤔
