This was such an enjoyable film. I liked the story and all the characters. Diane Cilento was absolutely a gem. I can’t think of anyone who can play an angel better than Diane. I love her ‘angelic’ wardrobe and her overall personality really made this movie such a true delight. It was also nice to see a young Alfie Bass here. I first saw him in the BBC series “Are You Being Served?” as Mr. Goldberg. 😃

I enjoyed the film, but Mrs. Trapp did remind me of several women from my childhood. Harpies like that, well, if the Angel is from Heaven, then they must be from "the other place." Even though it is "only an old movie" ir was so good to see Len read her "the Riot Act".
UTTERLY REFRESHING...GIVEN THE LACK OF INNOCENCE IN TODAY'S MOVIES...AND THE SCENE WITH THE AMBULANCE- CHASING FEMALE UNDERTAKER...WHEN JENNY MENTIONED SARCASTICALLY THAT HER MOTHER WAS STILL "TICKING OVER"...I THOUGHT UNDERTAKER'S REPLY PRICELESS IF YOU'VE GOT A FILM NOIR SENSE OF HUMOUR 🤣DIANE IS A BELOVED DAUGHTER OF WE AUSSIES...BOTH HER PARENTS WERE WELL-KNOWN DOCTORS AND DIANE'S MUM WAS ALSO A MEDICAL JOURNALIST...DIANE SPENT HER LATTER YEARS TEACHING ACTING IN NORTHERN QUEENSLAND ON AN AMAZING PROPERTY THAT SHE OWNED...UP AND COMING ACTORS LIVED A COMMUNAL LIFESTYLE HONING THEIR CRAFT WITH DIANE HOLDING COURT AS GRAND DAME AND PROTECTIVE MOTHER LIONESS...A BEAUTIFUL LADY TO THE END 💋💖
The book was about a million times better. I found a battered old copy at a book sale in Radford, VA. I think I paid twenty-five cents for it. Best purchase I ever made. ❤😊
A truly charming film. Perfectly cast all round. But special mention must go to miss Cilento. She was just heavenly. And to Felix Aylmer. He was gesture perfect. One thing though,- he wouldn't be allowed to do that full on Jewish accent today.
_Aww, my Sweet Helen! Don't you worry! CCC is showing almost everyday two versions from the same movie...one in its original B&W and another one in a colorized version...so, now we can have two choices tô watch the same movie at the very same time in B&W or só in color...I always like much more the colorized version! I hope you choose one of them and enjoy very much this só Lovelly movie with us...I left comments for you on the colorized version too...! God bless you always, my dearest Helen!_ 🤩🤩🤗🤗
I think that every time I see one of these old films. The London of my childhood, just after this film was made , was a wonderful place full of characters. Now ruined by immigration where you hardly hear a London accent. Disgraceful really. It's the 25th of December today so Merry Christmas.
Diane Cilento married Sean Connery on 29 November 1962 - only 7 weeks after her divorce from assistant director Andrea Volpe was finalized. She and Connery had one son, Jason Connery. They divorced on 9 August 1974, after a little less than 12 years of marriage. (On 27 January 1985, Diane Cilento married playwright and screenwriter Anthony Shaffer. They remained married "until death do us part" - in this case, Shaffer's death on 6 November 2001.) (By the way: Diane Cilento was only 22 years old when she made "The Angel Who Pawned Her Harp.")
A movie which is so enchanting and heavenly. ❤
Great movie! Don't find too many movies like this one, thanks for the upload CCC!

Wonderful and sweet! A truly lovely little film...oh, thank you for making me smile today!
A delightful movie!
Loved it. So sweet and innocent and uplifting.
Agreed! And so refreshingly different from American flicks of the era. Nice soundtrack, too - little touches of pseudo Vaughan Williams etc.
This film is like a sign for me thank you

Love these old movies
A little gem of a film ❤
This was so delightful. Much enjoyed it.
Absolutely delightful! Thanks ever so much.
A dear, darling movie. If only they made them like this today. But that would take idealism, spirituality, heart, joy..........
I enjoyed this movie so much. I surprised me wonderfully I didn't know what was going to happen next. I give it 10 stars!
TRULY a RARE GEM 💎

Such an absolutely bloody, delightfully fun movie!😊
Delightful, charming, and moves at a good, steady pace. Well shot in b/w with many actors that would go on to stellar careers. Thank you, CC.
Thank you so very much for making this beautiful film available. Waited so many years in the hope of seeing it again.

Oh lovely
If I were a true artist,, I could never duplicate this beautiful woman. Would be an insult to her creation.

Buy the book! It's also charming and there's more of the story.
Delightful 😇😇😇
Adorable supernatural kitchen sink drama, if such a genre can be imagined. Utterly charming.

How lovely to see a London that was home to actual native Londoners.

@@andrewhoward7200Andrew, thank you for your reply. Happy New Year.
It beats "One Touch of Venus".
A DO RA BLE MOVIE , THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
una diane cilento molto carina, ecco perche' piaceva a sean connery.
From a purely theological standpoint, an angel crossing her fingers is rather amusing.
Traduza em português o título, grato.
❤❤❤

A lovely bit of fluff.
Diane Cilento, ex-wife of Sean Connery, mother of Jason Connery. Trivia.
It is a sad thing that NONE of the supporting cast has a memorable name.
Alfie Bass Felix Aylmer not memorable?
Tres belle histoire mai s très mal traduite
Was Diane married to Sean Connery at one point?
Diane Cilento married Sean Connery on 29 November 1962 - only 7 weeks after her divorce from assistant director Andrea Volpe was finalized. She and Connery had one son, Jason Connery. They divorced on 9 August 1974, after a little less than 12 years of marriage.

❤❤💌😆
Why was the angel pawing that girls harp?
It was her harp. She needed the money.
