Automatic shift handle removal - Saturn & Others

Simple demonstration of removing the automatic shift handle from your Saturn s-series car. All you need is a flat head screwdriver to remove a small clip. Removing this handle will make removing the center console very easy.
Tools Required:
-Phillips screwdriver.
Procedure:
1. Move the shifter all the way back to allow easier access.
2. Insert screwdriver into slot on back and pry out the retaining clip
3. Remove shift handle by pulling up.

thank you this was a huge help to me when I changed my shifter knob oh and a heads up this is also how you remove a shifter knob on a 1997 Pontiac firebird ( or at least my firebird)

Turn on your car, apply the emergency break and keep the brakes applied. Then..
Move the shifter all the way back while keeping the brakes applied.

Great video. I have a 2002 Oldsmobile alero with the same clip technology in the shifter but I'm not able to get it out. I ended up breaking my flathead I was pressing so hard.
