Happened on my 02, my son accidentally snapped off the yellow stub that sticks out. Been using quarters and Penny's to push what's left of it down to shift gears🤣
So apparently the clip corrodes overtime from hand sweat, so after around 20 years the clip finally gives out and snaps whenever any type of force is put on it :/
