I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with this amazing band. They are honest and genuine humans. Everyone should give them the love they deserve!
I got to see C.O.C. open for Metallica on the Load tour which was the Wiseblood tour also. Total kick ass . James came out for Man or Ash. This band is in my top favorite bands. I’m more into the Pepper years but appreciate where they came from. Thanks for spotlighting them.

First of all, thank you for doing this ranking today. C.O.C. are one of my favorite bands of all-time, and sadly one of the most underappreciated bands ever. I've been a fan since junior high, and was actually lucky enough to see them open for Metallica on April 20, 1997 with my Uncle Jack. Okay, now, I'll rank... 10. Eye for an Eye 9. I wouldn't listen to the Pepper fronted version of the band because of the direction they went in on Blind. There were so many bands attempting to go "alternative" at the time that I wasn't having it from COC. When Down II came out I was bowled over by the classic rock/metal vibe. A lot of people hate that record, but it was just the right sound at the right time for me. To this day it's a record I put on when I get burned out on everything else. I started checking out the bands of the other members of Down and that was when I realized Deliverance was about as far from grunge as you can get. All the Pepper albums soon became some of my favorites of all time. I'm not sure I could even pick a favorite. The two records they did while Pepper was away from the band are damn good albums, but Pepper always brings the Fiyaaa.( pun definitely intended) Hearing Pepper had returned was like hearing the news that original members of Sabbath were reuniting back in the 90s or that Lynyrd Skynyrd was back in the eighties. I didn't pull those two bands out of a hat. I have always described COC as a cross between Sabbath and Skynyrd. Being a southern boy who loves his Skynyrd, and also worships at the altar of Black Sabbath, COC worship might've been delayed because of my own snobbish attitude, but inevitable once I decided to have a listen. Losing Reed Mullins was a bummer that begin toI can't express in words, but at least we get Stanton Moore for another go around. His playing on In The Arms of God was nothing less than genius. No Cross No Crown was like a modern take on Deliverance. That is to say, better than even I dreamed it could be. A "brutal sounding" folow up is the works. Initial reports claimed we would get it this year. The year is almost over and I'd think it releasing this year is ulikely. Ah well... at least we can rest assured that we'll get at least one good album in 2025.
Down II was great, I still remember buying it the day it came out in late March 2002, I had almost gave up hope that there was gonna be a follow up to 1995s NOLA. Down II is a very dark album & Phil was in a bad place at the time, but man I loved it & thought it was a great follow up, I didn't want a carbon copy of NOLA & I think they nailed it.
Bought Blind when it came out! Masterpiece! RIP Reed! I have a C.O.C. tattoo on my right forearm and years ago, I was shopping at NEX Mayport and the security dude came up to me and asked, "is that a COC tattoo?" I said yeah. He said, "I went to high school with Reed". Which I thought was pretty cool.

When I was in high school during the early-mid 90’s I was totally into all that Stoner Southern sound. COC / Kyuss / Crowbar / Down. Couldn’t get enough of it. Deliverance would be my favourite album of 94 if a little band named Soundgarden hadn’t released Superunknown. It was a great era to be a young metal head.
For me, it’s all about Eye for an Eye, Animosity and the Technocracy EP… sometimes Blind. That’s it. I don’t care for anything after, but to each their own. Great ranking, Mr. Pete. 💪🏻👌🏻
Love Blind!! I got it when it first came out. In 1995 it was remastered with 3 bonus tracks. Is it worth it to buy? I already have Condition A/B on the Vote with a bullet promo cd but I don’t have Jim Beam & No Future. Thoughts??

For me, Blind definitely feels like the odd one out in their discography, not quite settled as the following albums would be. For some, this might be a point in its favour, and maybe for me, it would be with another band, but, I admit I'm not that crazy about it. Feels like they are jumping on the early 90s bandwagon a bit; strangely I don't get that feeling from an album like Wiseblood, which I really like a lot. No mention at all of "Technocracy", Pete? I know it's an EP, but, anyway... # 2 for me: "Blind", the late Reed Mullin at the top of his game. Cheers from Brazil.
I absolutely love this band!!! I love everything they've ever done however the one time I met Pepper he was a complete dick to me and I did nothing to deserve it. I won't let that get in the way of how much I love the music though. Maybe he was having a bad night because the turn out was small and just coming out of covid. I still love me some Pepper though even though Woody was always my favorite.

America's volume dealer Has Warren Haynes On one track stare too long
As an original C.O.C fan from *WAY* back in the day, There's Eye For an Eye...then there's everything else. I actually bailed with Animosity. The more I listened to it the less I liked it. Maybe it was the production...The songs were great live, but when the record came out it just turned me off. It sounded too much like heavy metal.
It's odd how much I like Technocracy and how much I dislike Animosity, maybe it is the difference in production.
The Guilford College Radio Station played Technocracy often and offcourse Dance Of The Dead got on MTV,but the gaps really harmed their success.
I'm quite surprised, America's Volume Dealer is one of my favorite by them.
