Hi I have gone crazy making pouches! My grandson grabbed the first one because it was blue( he’s 9) then my granddaughter wanted one. And I decided to make some for Christmas. And now my husband’s family are coming for a reunion. I have 5 sister in-laws so I made more. I love that they turn out so pretty and I haven’t bought anything but needles. I think that I’ve completed 10. I used a paper grocery bag to make the circle patterns and wrote the directions on the large circle. I have about six more cut out. My sewing hand has gotten very strong. I live in Oregon.
I love the rain especially if you have a tin roof. Sorry I'm slow watching this COVID is kicking my butt, week 4 and even with meds I feel worse. Todays Quote: " A kind word is like a spring Day." - Russian Proverb. Huge hugs. Namesta 🐞🐞🐞
Hey Jeri from an early early morning in South Africa! Love love this little pouch in simplicity. I hope you are doing well and the rain is a soother for me too! Will be giving this pouch a whirl, so cute. Much love and take care❣️
You made a beautiful bag, I like the colors! I have 2 different directions for these. In one, a round piece of fabric is basted along the edge, pull basting slightly to encourage the fabric into a seam allowance, finger press the edge. Start hand sewing around. Before closing it up, some fiberfill can be stuffed in. Finish the sewing, and you have a pincushion. Instructions also said to sew the circles completely. Mark the center, then pull the 2 fabrics away from each other and carefully snip. Cut the snip just enough to have about 1 1/2 inches, turn, press, and loosely sew shut. Do the small circle the same. Then continue to finish as you did. The mended side on each circle will be facing the piece of plastic! These make great jewelry holders for travel also. When all finished, a folded over ribbon can be tacked in the middle of the smaller circle, thread the ends thru the middle area of a plastic canvas circle (I think they are still around?) And tie a bow. Earring studs can be stored on it.
Thank you for this cute and fun bag project. I bought one years ago in an Amish market and my daughter has asked me to make some. Your method is clear & looks easy to follow.
Oh how cute. I like how it has pockets on the inside. Took me a minute to figure out how the ropes worked till you showed it lol. That's my fault brain fog today😂😂
I used a large piece of paper, I happen to have a piece of parchment bigger than 14 inches. I folded it into quarters, (it's a square now) then I folded that square in half on the diagonal (it's now a triangle) Then I measure the fold to 7 inches and the short end of the triangle to 7 inches, then I used a plate or some sort of soft curve. The whole thing was kinda crazy but it worked and when I opened it up I had a 14 inch circle. It doesn't have to be perfect. I should have done it on camera. I'm sorry. are you in the FB group? I could do a quick demo for you tomorrow.
