I remember my Dad came into our lives quietly providing never disciplining at first. We kind of grew into it being disciplined. I never heard my Dad and Mom arguing or being mad with each other. I will never ever call him a stepdad because he was my Dad and he was the best Father anyone could have asked for.

    How to blend a family
    1. Focus on the marriage first- united front, be the example. Strong foundation.
    2. Create a disciplined/punishment system together. Use shared values as rules.
    3. Give each child individual attention
    4.communicate openly- expections, boundaries,
    5. Be patient-give time for adjustment-patience looks like we try different ways

She’s absolutely correct. It’s fear. You don’t want your children to feel left out, pushed aside. It’s a hard balance that has to be navigated carefully.

Thank you for this conversation. This opened my mind up to dating again as a single mother. I definitly still have healing/growing up to do/occur. Nonetheless, I'm encouraged and blessed by the fulness of this message.

When my husband and I started dating my/our daughter was 6months, and I can say I wish I had the knowledge of those 5 things 20 years ago. It was a JOYUS/ROUGH 20 years but it was definitely mostly MY FAULT. I came to the realization when she was 15. It was hard getting her in line. But we just celebrated her college graduation and she’s now going on to pharmacy school. I’m so proud of how they reconciled and life is GREAT. I scream this to ALL my friends dealing with a blended family, to help transition. Now for this friend situation I’m pay for a hotel room. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

This is good insight and advise but be 10,000% sure of the man you are trusting with your kids because we know how this turns out for many children.

Thank you for wonderful show and views. Both of you wonderfully complimented each other in opinions like puzzle added to the puzzle. But key points are need to establish rules once you decide to move together (no matter you are going to 'I do ' or not), my boundaries/your boundaries but always bear in mind that you and partner are equal then build up rest... And Equality is hugely important on both sides especially if you have children. Otherwise that 'feeling' that partner putting children in front of you it is because they don't see you as leader, protector and provider. Can see you one or two of these but not often full package. Usually women don't see her men as capable leader and in that case they putting children in front as every leader needs protection, so children are her followers and supporters, safe zone. My compliments to the Mrs Ken 🙌 who is extremely wise women and managed to recognise all of this in you, Coach Ken, and in this particular 'kids'.case please consider yourself very lucky man. No all women have that ability and strength but certainly you have lots of other quality that she hugely appreciates 🙏

My mom husband entered our lives with childhood trauma and should have never been around children. He wanted my mom all to himself. He constantly reminded us that we were NOT his children. I met him while they were in bed together at our home. Ladies never be like my mom. Be intentional when you blend your family.

I love this because I have learned in my family the women don’t understand the importance of the voice of the male so that’s why they don’t understand authority in their relationship the male voice is imperative that it be heard in your home (my opinion)and the earlier the better

Hey coach what the.......How are you so unappropriate at the end after I sent that video to my son thinking that he's a good coach and your wife are you really gonna continue allowing him to advise your daughters when you're not present after he was saying what he said at the end of the video! What kind of coach is that ? We are not supposed to waist seeds? That is against the most high YAHUAH! Are you aware of that?
