Not that I agree with the father and his stance on this but I think a lot of people misunderstood what he was saying. He has mentioned his sons mother being his life when he was younger and then said he raised his son since he was 8… what he was trying to say was that he raised his son by himself (without the bio mother) since he was 8. Meaning before he was 8, his mother and father raised him but from 8 years old the father was the only one to raise him.

What I've learned over the years is to trust your gut. Between the son saying his dad was a pedophile, the son having drug problems and constant fights with his dad, and the dad's comments on women.....yeah, there's a little alarm bell going off for me. I can only imagine how it is for the mom. Sure, it's good for your child to be loved, but it's awful to expose them to danger when you have a feeling something is wrong. I'm a little surprised that the judge even brought up visits; the pedo thing mentioned...it just smelled off. They couldn't pinpoint where the "rumor" started or why the son would say that and then used "my niece comes over and it hasn't been a problem!" as evidence.

It seems super bizarre to me that a grown son would tell the mother of his child that his father was a pedophile and wouldn’t allow his daughter around him if there wasn’t some truth there he knew about. A son who was raised by this man as he claims would not listen to rumors and just believe or share the lies. I think the mom has every right
to not want her daughter around him. They could maybe work out a supervised visit schedule so mom can feel safe and the child gets loving grandparents in her corner. It’s definitely a touchy situation and if ever there is doubt, go the safe route. Spoken as someone who was sexually assaulted as well as my siblings and my mother claimed she didn’t believe us, that we just wanted attention, then kept us in the same home.

The judge was being careful on what she was saying to the plaintiff by saying really to use her judgment. If he is a pedophile and he may be more likely than not, she should not allow her to be with him. I think it's why she said he may not see her until she is 18. Usually the judge would flat out say, "What proof do you have?" in regards to what the person is accused of being, but she didn't. The plaintiff didn't say anything about the rumors of pedophilia, the wife did. So I think the judge may feel strongly that he is, indeed, some sort of abuser.
Supervised visits are best in this situation.

It floors me when parents try to pull the "I raised him since-" statement- like, are they thinking they should be admired for parenting? And in this specific case, to add to the statement "since he was 8"- well, where were you those first 8 years when you weren't raising him? Those are the most formative years! I believe the Plaintiff handled this much better than the father; she tried to keep the personal stuff out (like how Victor passed away) clearly out of respect while the dad just threw it out there like he was so damn proud to be spilling the tea on his son. Disgusting father.

When the judge said wouldn't it be better to be a part of the granddaughter's life now I burst out laughing because the guy wasn't involved in his own son's life until he was 8 years old why would she think he wants anything to do with a child that's under 8 years old apparently they don't need to be taken care of until being that he said that he raised the kid on his own from 8 until now and that the birth mother did nothing but what about those other 8 years

Plaintiff needs to do exactly what she is doing and keep her daughter far away from those people. They are not going to add anything to her life

Maybe if dad got along with his son he wouldn’t have to steal from his granddaughter so he can “get to know” his son after he’s gone. How pathetic. Why would a son call his father a pedophile? There’s more to this story. If he ever sees granddaughter it should only be with supervision.

Inheritance goes down to kids first, parents then siblings. Assuming no will. Defendant has zero claim as the plaintiff's daughter inherits the estate.
Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate. Since she didn't authorize the removal of the laptop and even repeatedly requested it back.
Defendant just wanted a free laptop. (Oh it's a macbook pro, yeah, defendant just wanted a free mac)
The defendant's insistence to gatekeeper his son's memory. Every memory is on the phone & laptop, and he refuses to hand if over to gatekeep the memory. The kid is gonna grow up without any connection to her father.

But he had left her. She was the ex girlfriend. They must have divided their property when he moved out. He had moved in with a new girlfriend. Why did she not say anything about the laptop then? How long was she willing to be without it before she had a claim on it? He could have lived for years and years until the daughter was grown up. If it really was about the sentimental value why did she not get a hard drive and copy everything before he left? Why was it only these items she was interested in? I feel she wanted them for the monetary value.

The mom is only protecting her daughter & watching out for her daughters best interest. Rumors like that are spread, if their true or not, a mom needs to do everything in her control to protect her children. Any half way decent grandparent would understand that, rather the rumor was true or not. It’s not about the mother or the grandfather, it’s about the well interest in the child, ALWAYS.
ALSO if he “raised” his son from the age for 8- adulthood (which is weird bc my dad raised me from birth to adult hood, I raid my children from birth to adulthood, my husband raises our children from birth to adulthood & if he expects the mother to bring the child to him to get to know her own father, then why did he say he needed/wanted to keep the items so he could “get to know” his son?! Like that’s so dumb.
