I don't understand why all of these companies say only a few want their money back and they just don't give it to them. It's called good customer service.
I love how the plaintiff and the judge pointed out the crass hypocrisy of many of our elected officials during the lockdown. Rules for thee but not for me.
Here in the UK, we had the police issuing fines for people who were breaking lockdown rules, yet politicians were actively having parties and travelling up and down the country! For once we were glad of our press and newspapers that published articles and film clips exposing them. One rule for one and one for another!
She lied right off the start, by claiming that 99% rescheduled, she means she kept 99% of her clients money and forced them to reschedule, so she gets to keep their money without knowing when the pandemic would be over. She's just plain despicable. I hope all her other clients decide to sue her too...
My child had a class trip booked for Washington DC and NYC for April 2020. This was 50+ kids who booked the trip. The travel company refused to give refunds to us even though we had all already paid in full in January (to the tune of $3k EACH). The travel company would only offer "vouchers" for future travel. It wasn't until all of us got onto their social media and YELP page did they finally back down and give the students their $$ back - minus a $250 'convenience fee' for refunding us the money. I hope that company has gone out of business.
These cases are beginning to become pretty cut and dry. If there are any business people out there watching, and you're having the same kind of dispute, just give the person their money back. We knew that you're hurting, but a deal is a deal. And if the government says you can't perform your deal, give them their money back.
I thought Defendant said if cancelled within 45 days full refund. Yet was offered to reschedule and he took that and when it didn’t work no refund was granted-
COVID wrecked havoc & chaos on the entertainment industry. Most of these companies with the "No Refund" policies have had to give refunds b/c they technically can't perform the duty that they were paid to do (thru no fault of their own). Basically the judge has to "un-do" the contract.

“Sucks all the fun out of life” my condolences to all those who lost family members and friends. I’m sorry for all those who missed weddings and graduations and family gatherings. Those memories you can never recreate. But let’s not forget, some people lost loved ones, whose death might have been prevented if we all had been more concerned with curtailing spread rather than our own personal freedoms and rights over lives.
These are the kinds of small businesses the government should have been helping during COVID, not all those multibillion dollar corporations that got so many millions of COVID assistance.
I agree with the plaintiff, but I also love the mature way the defendant handled the verdict. You can tell her company isn't shady...just going through a tough time with the pandemic.
Her policy is asinine. I wanna see evidence of her calling ppl who have ever requested a refund from her she acyually called them and said HEY we were able to rent the car u requested a refund for so we are gonna process your refund. Girl bye im sure she's never made those calls
The pandemic actually exposed alot of things and people in society for who and what they are. So to me it was a good and bad thing. Nonetheless the plantiff is deserving of a full refund because the party bus didn't take place.
I just said that there were bad things if you can read. The very sad and unfortunate deaths were a part of the bad things not to mention businesses closing. Read before comments Thom. I can't do that for you also.
@Adrian Prince Actually it is YOUR reading comprehension that is off. Go back and read what you posted. You said nothing about the deaths that occurred during that pandemic. What you said is that the pandemic exposed people for who they were, good and bad. Thom was right.
Plus there were no restaurants open. So, no food or drinks on the party bus AND there would not be any restaurants for them to go to. Money back. That is what business insurance is for. The company can recoup it that way.
Judge Milian - you really MUST pronounce that third 't' in "StatuTe of limitations.' So many of our people who do not read much think it's 'statue of limitations,' and it sounds like that is what you are saying.
Pay the man you know what you’re doing lady talking about 45 days cancelation you gave the man the option of rescheduling. He wants his money back he did nothing wrong no one can help what happened w covid restrictions and all that sorry b not sorry it’s a shame that he had to sue to get his money back. I’m glad the judge sided w the defendant 😩🙄
The plaintiff is seriously the nicest guy ever, give that man his damn money back, geez!!! (Speaking of government officials that didn't quarantine after they sent out the mandate.) The Senator of Texas flew his family to Mexico for Spring Break just as soon at the shutdown started, lmao!
How did u manage to completely miss the point of his comment lmao? Has nothing to do with the fact its a BLM rally. They were pointing out the fact that he went there with lots of people and without a mask. Your comment makes no sense because you're implying there's some sort of racism in his and the judges comments, when they literally weren't even going that route. Plz pull your head out of your ass. Thanks

99% rescheduled? Yeah right miss defendant...
I don't understand why all of these companies say only a few want their money back and they just don't give it to them. It's called good customer service.
Bingo
EXACTLY! If most of your clients rescheduled, it wouldn't hurt your pocket to refund the one or two people that would prefer to have their money back.
This pandemic have been going on for 3 years. He should be licking his chops and counting his marbles after receiving a refund.
Right, how you expect someone to book two years from now..
Plaintiff was a decent guy. I really liked the party idea 💡
Yes! He gave me an idea for a future party for my daughter.
She may not have had to give money back because those people don’t know any better. She knows she should give the money back. I hope they sue her.
LOL! Love the judges reaction to our hypocritical leaders. The plaintiff is a really nice guy!
haha, shes prob fully boosted
Yeasss finally!🎉

All these business owners refused to refund clients but was filing for PPP loans that was suppose to make up for that exact reason!
They both seemed like very decent people. I'm glad he got his money back and I hope her business was able to recover.
I love the plaintiff. He is a really great dad. He seems like a lot of fun.
The plaintiff sounds like he has an amazing personality . Great guy . Happy that he’s getting his money back .

Social Media and Yelp were actually helpful in "righting a wrong"! Bad PR can go a long way! Glad you got most of your money back!
The defendant knew she should have given it back
99% of people rescheduled? Yeah right girl
judge Milian is calling out Newsom and Garcetti 😂😂😂
Don't forget Gretchen Whitmer.😳
And Whitmer. She went and visited her father, on the taxpayer no less, mid Covid.
Yes! These governors are disgusting! They live like royalty while we peasants have to obey.
As if they care! The joke's on us
