Another "fun" tidbit that I will rant about for hours on end:
In Cupcakes, Pinkie was _not_ Pinkamena. In Cupcakes, Pinkie's hair is described as curly, not flat. The earliest Cupcakes fanarts, including the first one shown, have Pinkie with her curly hair as well.
I have no idea where the connection between Cupcakes!Pinkie and Pinkamena were drawn (possibly due to Party of One), but they are often confused for each other by most people in the fandom. Which is pretty sad, since in the show Pinkie usually goes into her Pinkamena state when she is extremely upset, and only lashed out at her friends in Party of One because she thought they didn't want anything to do with her anymore.
I had no idea this little flash game was part of an ARG. When I was young and big into the fandom, I played practically every mlp sprite flash game out there and never knew this one had a story behind it.
Yup, it's pretty interesting how things like this can go unnoticed by a lot of people
OMG, what a blast from the past. I was a brony back in 2011 and was suuuuper into the "creepy" stuff, Cupcakes, Luna Game, Story of the Blanks, and all that, when I saw the title I thought "What MLP ARG could I have possibly forgotten?" And WOW, I really did forget this one! I never did any digging myself so I have no unique stories to really add, but I remember being really fascinated with Level 0 and Level J and playing around a bunch with the Pinkie Jump password system, so crazy nostalgic to remember now... Glad you didn't let this one stay forgotten; like you said, it's a major time capsule for the sorta stuff the early MLP fandom was up to!

@@palecaptainwolfkayls8499 Luna Game and Story of the Blanks were both popular creepypasta MLP fan games back in the day! Luna Game was more jumpscare/shock value heavy, the original one was literally just a jumpscare prank where you play as Luna in a platforming sequence for a couple of seconds and then a scary pony picture popped up on the screen and froze your computer (though more were made with more substance later on). Story of the Blanks was a muuuuch more high effort little horror game about a mysterious pony village hidden in the Everfree Forest and their dark secrets ;) You should check them out! Neat little relics of their time.
That "You will see such pretty things" I think is from a screenshot of a hijacked TV station! I forgot what it was called, but I think it was the one with human faces looking sinister

Sidenote: also, in super pinkie world 1, If you were to click on a certain area on the game over screen, it would take you to a black screen with the word "NO" on it in white font

I assume that this early ARG was too niche to have much of a staying power… or it was overshadowed by Ben Drowned?
Thanks for watching! I believe that this ARG didn't really get too popular or well known because like you said, it was simply too niche, and was overshadowed by more popular ARGs/Webseries' at the time. It being overall incredibly short and ending quite fast also helped in it becoming quite obscure lol.
I remember a similar game, platformer, but on the Google Play store. Each of the main 6 had a level of their own, where they collect their cutiemarks while a song played in the background. I remember Rainbow Dash had dubstep, and Pinkie Pie had "Pinkie's Brew" playing. I cannot find the game anymore nor any gameplay.
Hmm, sounds pretty interesting. It's a shame it can't be found anymore though. The Google Play store in general tends to have a lot of stuff like that that can go missing quite easily.
@@TobbyMLP oh, i almost forgot, the enemies were paraspites (flying things that duplicate when they eat stuff, you'd have to jump over them/manouver around. The game's icon was the main 6 in a circle, but it was all gray coloured.

@@Mystic_Warriors i remember the game quite fondly. Rarity had a lvl where she sang sth in the background while you control Rarity on the platformer, collecting the 3 Diamonds cutiemarks while evading the paraspites... I miss those days

The closest thing that comes to mind was Kanye Quest where a throwaway account (presumably owned by the developer) commented years later on the game's download website about inputting a secret code.
This reminds me of that lost/unfinished ARG based on Luna Game. You should cover that too. It'd be a short video likely, but it'd be neat.
I actually came across that ARG when originally researching this video. The problem is that so much of it seems to be lost that there might not be much to talk about if you get what I mean. I'm definitely still considering making a video about it though.

Although this isn't a game. I had a really weird dream probably inspired by this game. It was also a platformer game where you play
As fluttershy (although the fluttershy design was my friends version of G1 posey) it was where u get chased by pinkamena. Though almost at the end of the "game" Pinkamena catches her and offers to help "flutters" at the end "flutters" accepted it. After the "game" ends with a party because to celebrate you won the game? pinkamena grabs a cupcake and a voice says grab the cupcake or pick it. There were 2 tries the first try was "Flutters" attempting to escape the party the voice still going on then the voice ends with it screaming pick it. Then. There was a black screen. The second try was "Flutters" accepting the cupcake but then getting poisoned followed by I think was supposed to be a jumpscare but it was a close up of my other friend"s pinkie version.
Honestly my sub concussions is really good at making mlp "horror" "games"

Yeah it actually is. I didn't realize it until late into the process of editing the video, but it wasn't that important of a detail so I left it out.

I think some brony still has the files, but even if they did it most likely doesn’t work anymore. I wasn’t old enough to understand video games back when this game was trending ig so I never got a chance to see any of this myself…
If someone still has the old audio files and .swf files on an old harddrive or something, then it should still be working assuming that the drive itself is still functional.

In the Pinkie Jump description theres a code called "cupcakes". If you input the code in the password box you play as Pinkie Pie but you cant move. The only platform you have is a black rectangle that slowly descends
No, wait, I'm pretty sure some of these lines such as "YOU ARE ILL" or "YOU WILL SEE SUCH PRETTY THINGS" were taken from the Wyoming Incident, a supposed television broadcast hijacking (which, from what I've gathered from a random Fandom wiki, was believed to serve several smaller communities in the county of Niobrara) that featured a video featuring multiple disembodied human heads, often interrupted by lines of text such as, well, just refer to the quotes I said earlier.
Yeah I became aware of this a while ago, I would've mentioned it in the video but it wasn't too relevant I think. Thanks though.
The Wyoming Incident was also an ARG that was originally hosted a video website that was not UA-cam because it was before UA-cam which makes it one of the oldest ARGs! Nightmind covered it buttttt unfortunately I don’t think that it was ever finished at least Nightmind hasn’t given us an update in years so I dont think that it was finished :(

Oh I remember watching a youtuber who used to be my favorite CaptainTape I believe was his name and I used to watch him play these little Creepypasta mlp games I just love creepy stuff back then (still do) it brings back a lot of memories

I found an audio recording that plays when you right click and press forward when emulating the game in ruffle. might have been the one you spoke about in the video but couldnt provide audio for. it was a female robot voice (you press forward after reaching the loud tone). and when you get to the stage where you walk into your pony friends and turn them into you, if you right click and press forward right away it takes you to a red image of a man standing in a hallway.

I remember this game I’m pretty sure or a game similar to it. Little me loved playing this kind of stuff on Deviant Art back then.
Great video! I actually had never heard of this ARG, before, but as creepypasta and the brony fandom were two of my biggest obsessions during my early teens around that time, this ends up feeling a bit nostalgic regardless! As you mentioned, this is one falls for the most typical ARG cliches, but the cheesiness just adds to the nostalgic charm as a time capsule. You can tell the author was trying to put together something fun and very unique for the time, which makes it very cool that you documented it. It's like immortalizing an ephemeron that may be unremarkable in the grand scheme of things, but is charming to look back on as a curiosity of its time! Definitely love ARGs and would be fascinated to learn more of the ones from the fandom.

i actually remember, that when i was way younger i used to mess a lot with right clicking in flash games to advance frames, and i actually ended finding these secret levels (and the red hallway image a few other people have pointed out), but i had no idea this was supposed to be an arg haha, i also thought of it as some kind of easter egg. oddly i remember this game having backgrounds, but it may just be my memory failing..

i think i played a similar game as a child, back in 2011-2012?? it was in a pink blogspot site i think, which had other flash games
i can barely remember a thing lol it's very blurry but basically it was like this super pinkie world but probably simpler. i only remember it started nicely, y'know like a grass land level with a blue sky. and then something would happen and the sky would turn pitch black, i don't remember well if the mane six were also in that "dark" level (probably) just standing there, but then you would reach the end (there was nothing else to do but walk, i think) and it'd show a jumpscare, which didn't scare me that much for some reason LMAO but it was like an image of pinkamena smiling with dark eyes and blood. y'know now that i think of it it sounds like sonic.exe 😭
thing is, the more time passes the less i remember, and I kinda wanted to find that game 😭 but i have no idea how to look for it

Oh! I remember that! I played this as a child, it was posted on a children's website with games (all sorts of dress-up games, puzzles and so on, you know). I remember being intrigued by this level 0. I just have one question for you, why didn't you pay attention to the fact that it says "Password: hill" on the screen after losing? Isn't that part of the story? Has anyone tried to enter this password?

oh wow, you are missing so much! i was really into this arg when i was a silly 13 year old into creepy stuff and mlp, and let me tell you, theres a TON more of stuff that was released about this arg, in fact i remember referring specifically to a google docs write up that would document every bit of the puzzle that was found, and even theorize on the supposed storyline here.
there is a secret youtube channel with weird cryptic videos containing hints, several other creepy images that were used as hints, and further additions that would flesh out the storyline, such as the fact fluttershy was the last to be killed and speculation that this may have been because pinkie had a romantic interest on her... and more i am forgetting, probably!
i do not know where this document is as it was something i would only revisit over 10 years ago, on old computers that are gone by now... but hopefully it isnt entirely lost to time! this arg in fact was my first ever introduction to args, and it sure did leave a lasting impact. sure, its got a ton of cliches, but back then, that was the first arg i ever knew, so it was all very novel and impressive to me!
it is nice to see someone acknowledge it existed though... even if i view it as somewhat cringe and too edgy nowadays, it did still shape me in some way, and i am glad to see it get talked about!

There was a Super Pinkie World 3 and another game called Twilight’s Library Defense that continued the story but I don’t think the ARG was ever completed… if you’d like to look into it, I can share the links with you! I have fond memories of following this ARG back when it first came out :)

It was an unofficial piece of bootleg merch found somewhere in Malaysia. Your best bet at getting it would maybe be looking for it on something like Aliexpress, it's very obscure though so all I can say is good luck.
