LOL I was about to comment on the same thing, it's even more funny considering Changfen is a southern style food and nobody calls it changfen'er where it actually came from.
Changfren, bbq goose and bbq pork are signature dishes but there are many more in Guangzhou. Wonton noodles, dim sum, Liwan congee, stir fried beef vermicelli, clay pot rice, etc...
Respect to this amateur food vlogger who had tried his best to food tour. Chengdu and Guangzhou have a similar vibe, which is the local would pay more attention to focus on their own lives and amazing food. Maybe that is the reason you name both of them on the top list of your favourite Chinese cities. Let's see what to expect more for this running man in the next video.
if and when China reopens again, I plan to spend one-month traveling through Guangdong province. i was born there, it is time for me to really know this wonderful province. love from canada.
Cantonese are famous in whole China for their diverse food sources. People outside Canton say: " Cantonese eats anything flies in the sky except airplane, anything with 4 legs except chairs."
10 videos of Guangzhou is still not close to enough for this magical place, Cantonese food alone would take up as many episodes. I strongly suggest youguys pick Guangzhou.
OMG, that roast goose is a crime! I know it's tasty just by the look of it and how thoughtful the put veg fried in goose fat with it. I'd pay anything to eat it but it's only 16 RMB - it's the food heaven.
That chang fen was utterly delicious. IT is my favorite. Good choice to ask it plain and simple with green onions. IT is such a Cantonese delight. You can find it at Chinese restaurants around the globe serving Dim Sum.
Glad to see my hometown in the video! Jack, that pagoda is the tower of "Liurong Temple" (六榕寺). Unlike most people, Jack seems to enjoy more of the traditional old town side of Guangzhou than the modern area of it :)
Thanks for the 2nd part of this video about Guangzhou! I learned a lot about this City! Great food, history and culture. Thanks again, Nico and Jack! 😊
Loving Jack's solo tour, he really did capture the "vibe" well! I grew up in Hong Kong, I have to say, this reminds me so much of old school HK. The goose had me drooling 🤤
Thank you for sharing the history on Qilou buildings in Guangzhou. I had no idea that they were so unique and part of China's colonial history. You can also find them in the Hong Kong New Territories like Sheung Shui.
The giant mushroom is expensive. The specific applications and attributed health benefits of lingzhi include control of blood glucose levels, modulation of the immune system, hepatoprotection, bacteriostasis, and more. Lingzhi, Ganoderma lingzhi, also known as reishi, is a polypore fungus belonging to the genus Ganoderma. Its reddish brown varnished kidney-shaped cap with bands and peripherally inserted stem gives it a distinct fan-like appearance. When fresh, the lingzhi is soft, cork-like, and flat
Hey, I love the style of this video(and the last vid of course) i feel bad you guys are temporarily separated but I appreciate this vid so much I can definitely feel the heat and sweat from Jack. Top notch👍
Summer is hot and humid in Guangzhou, southern China, not the best time to visit the city. It's more pleasant to visit the city during the months of Oct to Apr where average temperature is below 25'C. During the winter months, temperature can drop below 10'C.
I'm just watching a video about familiar streets those I walk everyday. YES I live here. Welcome to Guangzhou. 🙂I spend my every Sunday morning in the Chang Fen restaurant.(琪琪小食店) 😂
Seriously everyone like and subscribe. Nico and Jack are so dedicated to putting out great content and production for us to see about their adventures in China. Love it!
The free drink has a taste of winter melon. BTW, those without a head is usually duck, not goose. Have you tried wanton noodle (雲吞麵) and boat congee (艇仔粥)in Guangzhou?
Haha...Jack is doing better now, unlike the previous grumbling, grumbling misadventure hehe😂😂 At least he now managed to score one. The roasted duck epic and the chang fen! Bravo!
This was an intimate view of the city, you get the idea how it would be. Well done. I have a respect for the older generations who engage in Tai Chi. I've participated once myself in Canada after a good workout along with my friend who was Chinese born. We both looked a bit out of place, but I enjoyed the smooth, flowing motions. It seems in the West we go out and dance when we are in our youthful prime, in China they do so in their Golden Years, which really makes most sense.
If you want to learn Chinese medicine, you need to learn basic knowledge of TCM, You can read the book “ 黄帝内经”,that’s the foundation book of TCM, the first ancient book about TCM. It’s really interesting, you will find human body has connection with the Universe, disease is affected by thoughts and emotions, everything in the Universe has Yin & Yang aspects including our body, our health conditions affected by the time of the day and season. And more!
I lived in Guangzhou about almost 10 years, if use a word to description Guangzhou.it’s absolutely ‘dramatic(positive)’. Traditional culture and modern style are well integrated. Thanks nico share this city. If you want trip in china . Guangzhou must be the place you want to come. Believe me .
changfen in Cantonese pronunciation is “Cheung fun”, one of my favourite dishes in the world, as well as the roasted goose 🤤 *Jack should found a better restaurant for the goose..
Glad that this channel doesn't shy away from colonial history! A refreshing and honest take. Glad to never repeat that history
Agree!👍🏻
Agreed. Should learn from history and not live in it.
It's just hilarious to hear Jack utter the word 'Chang Fen' in Mandarin with a distinct Beijing accent. Good work, thanks for sharing.😄
Fenrrrr 🤣

Fantastic video!!
Wish i knew before you were here and could have shown you a few places 👍🏻
I visited Guangzhou in 2017 and the food was very good. After the trip, I understand why people always say Guangzhou has the best food.
Thanks!
Aww thank you so much for this it really means a lot! 😍

jack : You have a fantastic plan ! And i never follow it ! 🤣🤣

I agree again, Chinese herb is so pleasantly aromatic. Glad you said it for most people think I am strange when I say that, thank you!
That was a nice little interesting vid. Keep adding to Jack's itinerary, Nico.

Jack, you were doing great! Keep it up.
OMG I wonder what that barber was saying when he was yelling at Jack oh no and LOL
Both of you are living the dream for those of us who don't get to travel and do the same.
It's a crime not to subscribe to your channel after I witness this masterpiece

That's a lovely Church. Looks as if it is still functioning. All the European buildings beautifully persevered. Film set stuff.
Shamian was the old "embassy district" in the 90s. I remember from my childhood that that old US embassy was in Shamian.

I’m not the most familiar person with Chinese cultures, but I reckon dim sum is the most popular delicacy in Guangzhou
roughly translate, dim is pick, sum is heart. you pick your snack/food at your heart's delight.

There are much better geese but 16 RMB for a lunch like that is almost unrivaled. It's at least double in my city.
