Thank you for mentioning that the best Therapist is the most intuitive. My clients complement me on my intuitiveness frequently.
I’m a Hypnotherapist and I always wish that I had a degree and could be a “real therapist”.
But, in terms of client results a talk therapy degree wouldn’t change anything.
    Thank you! ❤

Ekkkkkk, as usual - he just totally understands EVERYTHING!
I am a HCNC and I hoard plastic bags to reuse just like he mentioned..... on top of everything else.
I'm not a ridiculous hoarder but I have a LOT of difficulty getting rid of "things" and I absolutely HATE that I'm a messy person....
DDL is just amazing! Absolutely LOVE every single one of your interviews with him. I pick up something everytime without fail!
    Happy 1200th show AJ! You're a champion!

I saw report about 3 years ago detailing why so many young adults don't drive these days. There were many variables such as those Dr. Lisle mentioned but, the biggest factor (according to the report and which hadn't crossed my mind) is that the newer generations have grown up with social media including video calls, chats, etc. They don't have to drive to see people! Who would've thought? So interesting. Always appreciate Dr. Lisle and Chef AJ. Thank you for all the presentations.

I have a couple of friends whose adult children have asbergers and it seems there’s too much stimulation for them to learn (or something like that). Or maybe intense fear of failure???

1:25:10 the fundamental tenet of Lisle counseling : change your environment (as much as you can) because you cannot modify yourself....1:26:45 accept, respect and honor who we are .......acknowledge that our "personalities" are us, and any attempt to change the personality will prove frustrating and wasteful. Aside comment: who we are , what [environment] our personality need to be happy, enjoy optimum weight merits the attention rather than the dead end of wishing we had genes that resulted in a different personality. We must resist the social pressures that urge us to take the route of "change" --promising that we can arrive at that new personality thru route "psychotherapy." Or willpower. We cannot tweak or tune our personalities. Rather we accept, embrace, honor who we are. For a different more satisfying life outcome, we tweak/tune the environment.

My area has become so populated, the streets so crowded, and the drivers so aggressive that it's become extremely dangerous for kids to learn to drive. My 16 yo just got her license and teaching her to drive was much more intense than teaching my son just 10 years ago.

I appreciate this interview as a contribution to my overall view on many things such as driving and why some would choose not to do so. As stated the world has changed a lot and public transportation has greatly improved in many areas so many feel it to unnecessary, economical, beneficial and wise. I've met some folks who know how to drive and hold a license but choose not to own a car or vehicle in order to save money, avoid high insurance rates, accidents, tickets, court costs and harassment from law-enforcement, etc., I once worked with a young man who revealed to me that he chose not to own a car and dressed down in less expensive attire than his peers because it worked for him. He said he got to avoid aggressive females and gold digger's in general who might seek him out because he is very attractive and gay. He said it was easier to protect his privacy at work and in social situations because most person's simply passed over him, thinking he is goofy or insane somehow. I got a good chuckle over It and we became buddies at work, Christmas parties, company gatherings and such! It made sense at the time, it was another era and in the nature of our work he was very skilled and sought after which might not had been the case were it known he was homosexual.
. People are different and have their reasons for being as they are which may never make sense to most of us so we must accept their choices when it does no harm in the world or to anyone else. I like listening to and learning from Dr. Doug Lisle, ty Chef AJ for another great interview!

Same issue with my being a “throw it away” person while my husband constantly accumulates and has problems getting rid of stuff. We bought a good size storage shed with me hoping that we could finally clean up the main living area in our basement, which he had turned into another storage room. So what happened? He just accumulated enough to also fill the storage shed with nothing noticeably missing from the room I was hoping to get cleaned up in our basement! Dr. Lisle is right…it is a difficult problem.

My husband and I are both that way to some extent. But when he makes the decision to get rid of things, it's all or nothing. I like to pick and choose, and, yes, I consider myself to be a very conscientious person. Glad I am not alone.

I relate fully! My husband is wonderful ( and very conscientious), but appears to get great comfort from extreme clutter. He literally will not throw anything away. I like organization, beauty and open space. We’ve had a good marriage for 39 years, despite it. But, it feels even more frustrating lately.

Semiglutide is a GLP-1 agonist. This class of drug has been around since 2005 and evolving into more potent forms. The latest one is Tirzepetide which is a GLP-1 and GIP agonist. It does work. It's always a great idea to combine pharmacology along with a WFPB diet under the supervision of someone who is board certified in obesity medicine and lifestyle medicine.

This is why I have major trust issues with medical doctors. My MIL listened to the docs about cancer care and the first drug shut down her thyroid, and the rest slowly killed her. I wasn't even convinced she had cancer bc they never biopsied before telling her she had cancer. She would have lived longer with "cancer".

I also very much appreciate it the questions at the end of your show today, as Doug started to be going deeper and deeper about systemic corruption/incentives and also the great personalities of the PBASED Doctors whom also change my life here in Europe!

I think also, lots of young men are spending countless hours gaming. Somehow it seems to hit all the dopamine centers necessary, including leaving girls out of the equation. And no drivers license necessary to get to your basement or bedroom.

My son 22 doesn’t drive and doesn’t want to because it’s cheaper not to have a car and catch Ubers and public transport when they need to and share the cost. They’re allowed to “make out” at home these days so sadly it’s not when I was growing up. My younger son doesn’t want to drive either. Most just can’t afford a car and if you really work it out it is much cheaper not to have one and also better on the environment. 👋 from Australia.

I started to watch later and was disappointed at Dr. Lisle's response to older children living at home and choosing not to drive. I know these are different times but I think it is cost-effective, environmentally beneficial, helps keep families together, and reduces fossil fuel emission. I love the idea that kids are with parents, and able to assist with siblings. And that reason that males need to drive to go on dates to find dark places to make out? Seriously? Where's your head at Dr. Lisle?

I also know many teenagers who have no interest in getting a drivers license. Their Moms drive them everywhere!!! Also I know women who have children in their 30s and 40s who still live at home with no drivers license and their Mom drives them for their summer vacations. Weird..I dont know what they will do when Mom dies or gets to old to drive.

If you examine the basic financial statistics of most working families it’s easy to see why young people don’t have cars or live at home. The average person doesn’t have $400 in the bank. Also young people do t go by the guy picking up a girl for a date. Young people - men and women see themselves as equals, women have equal “drives” sexually and kids see each other totally differently than us old farts did. Kids are going into massive debt to go to college. My son chose to use public transportation while in undergrad to save money and not take loans. He had a live in girlfriend who also used the campus bus and Amtrack. M😢 kid did not get a car until it was truly necessary. Sorry but I feel this analysis is dated. Wake up and see how far backward the middle and working class has slipped in the last 40 years.

I know why kids don't want to drive ... Times have changed on so many levels. Public transport has improved greatly or their folks drive them everywhere and now families have liberal views about boyfriends or girlfriends sleeping over so need to make out in cars ... The cost factor and then they pull the environmental card 🤷‍♀️
