- How to Change/Fix NAT type on PS4. In this video, I go over what NAT type means on PS4. I also go over PS4 NAT type 1, PS4 NAT type 2, PS4 NAT type 3, and how to change/fix PS4 NAT Type.

Sorry this is 4 years late.. this is for any new viewers with the same question, and also just in case you never found out.
The default -from the factory- username and password is what is printed on the sticker of a router, modem, etc. If it has been changed, you can factory reset the device in order for the password on the sticker to be accurate again.. look up the method for the model of your device if this doesn't work, but generally you would get a paperclip and hold in the small reset button on the back of the device, likely near the power switch and ethernet ports, and hold it for approximately 30 seconds as you power the device on.. only do this if you are the one in charge of the device for your household, and be prepared to set up the WiFi network and all settings again from scratch. Checking the security type (WPA2, or WPA/WPA2 are different!) before you reset it can help with this, but match the SSID(network name), password, and security type of the WiFi network after you reset it, and all of your devices that previously auto-connected should reconnect automatically like they did before.@@azracaliskan8190

Im on NAT TYPE 3 ... I have 2 PS4s in my house . My kid has his own . He plays on nat type 2 which works perfectly fine . I got my own PS4 couple weeks ago and I had started on NAT TYPE 3 and had to call my internet . They did fix the solution . But couple days later it switched back to nat type 3. It’s already been 4 times it’s gone back till this day . I’m frustrated and every time I call my internet is like they don’t wanna help . My ports are open . I even tried hooking it up on lan cable and it’s still nat type 3 ... I’m so frustrated

yes just buy an ethernet cable and you plug one end into the router and the other into the back of the ps4
Yes, what Armando said is right. You just get an ethernet cable and plug it in. You'll also want to change the setting on your PS4 from WiFi to wired.

The Nat type is a fake ,what they really what is ,your router security system open to know all your privacy . Because when you open IPV6 in your router page you enable it for all the devices in your home ,not only for your PS4 and they have access to your privacy.
So instead of adding a port I have four options. Port mapping, Port Trigger, Multi-NAT and ALG. What should I do?

I have this weird internet that ever since I got it, it won't allow my computer to connect through wifi only through ethernet, and now I'm having an issue that I'm not sure about, I wanted to load up Apex Legends after the update but it just says no servers found? And tested the connection on my ps4 and it shows up as NAT Type 3 and at the bottom it says this type restricts network features? Help please, thankyou
The WiFi/wireless on your modem could be turned off. I would log into it and check if the box that enables wireless has a check mark/says the word on. If it's on and you still don't see it when you search for your WiFi from other devices then it's possible that the modem could be faulty. It wouldn't hurt to call your internet company and let them know you aren't getting WiFi. If it is faulty, they would usually end up replacing the box for free. As for changing the NAT Type, what I went over in the video should still change it. Did you try doing it and it still shows up as NAT type 3?

New sub bro but why when testing internet connection everything is successful except NAT Type. It says checking that's it. But after so long it says cannot connect to server within time limit. There mkggr have been a problem in connecting to the network, or playstation network or the server of the service provider might be temporarily busy.
I wouldn't really pay attention to what it says if it's not giving you any issues when playing online, but even if it's not giving you trouble now, you never know if or when it might. There are some basic things you could try to fix it, are you connected through Wi-Fi? I would wire it and see if the same thing happens. Something similar can sometimes cause type 3 as well. Did you also already try what I did in the video? Doing it could still possibly fix it. If it's still the same then try turning on Universal Plug & Play (UPnP) if your router has an option for it, then test it again. I've been meaning to make another video on this topic with an different fix for this issue, but I had completely forgotten about it.

Oh, you're using more than one console. That explains it. The reason for that is they basically try to use the same ports on your router. It shouldn't bother you too much but you might occasionally have issues with voice chat when playing online games (usually if both of you are trying to play the same game at the same time) and stuff like that. The video I was meaning to make is actually something that can fix that issue as well. 😄

If it says people have different nat type and that doesn’t allow u to speak with anyone. All u gotta do is leave and keep joining till it allows u. That won’t always work with specific people on ur ps4

It's slightly restricted. After doing what I did in the video, do a search for that specific game- search for the port that it uses. Once you find out what it is, enter it in just like I showed you in the video.

Literally just unplug your router or gateway and plug it back in fixed the nat type and got faster speeds

It would be from closed/restricted to open. NAT type 1, 2, and 3 is currently all they list it as in the PS4's menu. It affects who you can connect to, which could in turn affect your connection quality, but it will not magically make your ping way better.
