As a cellist, I have to disagree. The cello has a lot more depth and bass to it. Is that not what people want in speakers? Yes, it is. And there is a reason (it sounds better). so unless your playing on a strad, violins rarely get as much projection and/or a rich sound as a cello.
@@3am_humor actually violins are acoustically more ideal than cellos, so they project better into a hall than violin. The bodies of cellos and violas are not big enough to be acoustically ideal for the frequencies they produce, so they often struggle to project, especially as a solo instrument over an orchestra. It's a famous problem for composers to balance viola and cello concertos

I really love the combination, even if it's not played on violin.
There's more depth to it on cello i think.
That's always the case if something is played on cello
