That is true, but there have been plenty of other virtuoso violinists who wrote exciting violin music: Wieniawski, Sarasate, Vieuxtemps etc. There are also wonderful pieces such as Saint-Saens Rondo & Capriccio, Ravel Tzigane, and many others.
