    I've had a number of Guzzi's over the years. Also tried other makes and after a few years I decided to get back to the Guzzi and ordered a TT in the same colour.
    I took out a demo a couple of weeks ago and didn't want to take it back! I traded in an Africa Twin which has no soul, but a great bike on its own.
    I still own a Sport Corsa 1100i since 1999. Nothing is like the soul of these machines.
    I like your vids!

      Thank you for your comments, I have to agree with, whilst so many bikes are technically brilliant they just lack something you can't quite put your finger on then suddenly it hits you "SOUL".

    I'm glad that I, you and a lot of other owners have similar feelings about V85. It is so nimble, effortless, comfortable allround bike with very good consumption. Open road, twisties, sun and big smile on your face. 😎🛣️

    Lovely Bike, I bought it as my first road bike, loving it so far. It's a bit heavy if everything before that was a 125cc crossmoto. But the weight disappears when you get rolling. Enjoy the miles

    I've always seen "adventure" bikes as a bit of a fad with everyone wanting to be associated with Long Way Down etc. but recently I've been out with quite a few medium sized "adventure bikes and I can see how they make a lot of sense as a "do it all" option. I'm sure they probably lack the high speed continental travel ability of the big dedicated tourers like the Norge but they can tour and when you get to your destination you have a bike that is pleasant to ride about in the towns or back roads. The only issue I have with them is being just under 5'8" with a 29" inside leg I don't fit on most of them and as for the big capacity ones I sat on the Africa Twin at the bike show and I'd need a step ladder to get on it and a parachute to get off again.

    • @oldguyinshed1703
      @oldguyinshed1703  2 роки тому +1

      I agree with you 100% on the fad status of adventure bikes, but light weight tourers leave a lot to be desired and naked street bikes are not that comfortable so the adventure style ticks quite a few boxes. I'm 5"11 and no idea of leg length, so all I can suggest is keep trying different makes and models until you find the right fit for you. I am quite surprised I actually went for this bike but I am glad I did.

      I would also add at 5’ 9” I have learned to always slide to one side or the other on stops. Let’s me ride anything I like when I am prepared and know my stopping plan :). Be a one footer and you can ride them all!

    Nice review and well said.
    The one point I have seen others say is it runs out of “go” at high speeds. Like you I diagree. The bike will break 90mph easy. Where are these reviewers riding and why so fast :).
    Bike is a great all arounder with character, old school charm and a few high tech features all without a chain and radiator…I call that ideal!

    • @oldguyinshed1703
      @oldguyinshed1703  2 роки тому +1

      I think some of the reviewers are sport bike orientated so yes the V85 will seem sluggish and it isn't as punchy as the 1200cc Norge. All that said I find it to be a great all rounder, especially as it was bought to make my life easier when manhandling it. I feel that when reviewing a machine one should keep in mind the reasons for the choices being made.

    • @richardlandry269

      @@oldguyinshed1703 Agree. One of the reviewers was the famed Missenden Fly who I respect. However he is a 1200 GS rider and possibly use to faster speeds as he owns a Street Triple. Again to you point, "mind the reasons." Keep up the reviews!
