The HS80 has the cleanest sounding mic I’ve heard on any headset just Imagine the hs80 with the XTs aesthetic, build, and features at the $150-200 price point. 🤯
100% agree. I love the clean, natural sound of the hs80 mic. I can add noise gate and eq if I want, but it's nice to start with a neutral and natural sound. Baffles me that people think the virtuoso's mic sounds better.
Am I going crazy with all this research into premium gaming headsets or does the XT’s sound ever so slightly sound more like a pilot style type sound when compared to the HS80? Had I never of heard what the HS80’s sounded like I probably would never have thought that about the XT. But when they are directly compared I can’t help but think the 80’s are just that bit better. This is so frustrating because the XT’s have all the features I want 😢
@@James-fv1cm Go with whats comfortable, if you have big ears than you may not like the hs80. I've heard the XT can have a tight squeeze for those that have bigger heads. Personally the HS80s are some of the most comfy headphones I've ever worn, the XTs padding wasn't the best and it felt like the pleather was going to break apart.
As a virtuoso user, I vote for HS80 even if I never got a chance to try them. Virtuoso are squeezing my head and ears like nut cracker and at the same time putting so much pressure on top my head. They really look good though…when they are sitting on the headphone stand.
I have the hs80 and it is really is that comfortable. You can easily wear it for 6 hours straight without the need to adjust the headset on your head. The best thing is that i got for less than 90 bucks on black friday
Seriously I 100% agree with this, they looked so good but wearing them was torture and mine broke because of the pressure on the joint connected to the headband. Glad they changed the design to a wider and more solid joints.
The best thing about the virtuoso is the connectivity features. I got it because I can easily listen to 2 sources at the same time. The sound quality is not the greatest but is still not bad. If they would make a headset with the design of the hs80 or the void, with the multi connection features of the virtuoso xt and bump the sounfmd quality up just a bit they would have an absolute winner!
I had the HS80 until recently and I was really impressed by the sound, microphone and, above all, the wearing comfort. But....the battery life made me buy another wireless headset. My HS80 lasted a maximum of half a day (8 hours). And with the RGB lighting switched off. I was so annoyed that at some point I always left the charging cable connected. I then switched from Windows 10 to 11 and guess what In Windows 11 it totaly didnt work for me at all. I had done everything to get this thing to work but no chance. Now I own the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro and am super happy with it. Top sound, microphone with sonar also set well and the battery life is a dream!
Take the hs80 build and add the better quality/features of the xt and you have the best in the market hands down nothing else would compete. They need to make that happen.
xt is a novelty all round headset while the hs80 is gaming strictly and also tries to compete at its price point, which it seems to be doing quite well
7 months after getting the HS80's what can I say they sound amazing so much so I would put them up against Sennheiser and EPOS headphones in terms of sound qulity but in terms of comfort I would have to give them 1 out of 5 stars, I do have are larger then normal head and I feel that's why I find these headphones so uncomfortable the lack of adjustment I'm normally used to with other headphones work great for me but since I do have a large head the bungee system doesn't work for me so that's something to consider if you are looking at getting these and you do have are large head hope this helps anyone thats looking into getting these headphones.
Few notes from me on the HS80. Take wired. Sounds quite a lot better. Use the USB dongle. Makes massive difference. And... If you've got a even SLIGHTLY bigger than medium head. It won't fit at all. Made for tiny heads.
Ear cups on the virtuoso are not hard to replace. I actually ordered some from ebay for like $8 to replace the default ones when I first bought the headset. The new ones have more depth and better breathability.
A HS80 with bluetooth would be amazing! They already have the HS70 Bluetooth, so an upgrade to that model to the current line up would be fantastic as well, for example having the same exact HS65 surround headset but with bluetooth, that would be an immediate purchase for me right now. I would use them for gaming via cable and for work calls I would use the bluetooth. Make it happen Corsair please 😍😍
You should be able to lower the volume of the voice prompts by turning down iCUE in windows volume mixer. That's what I do for my Corsair Void Elite wireless and it works like a charm. It works for both the voice prompts and the beep prompts, depending on what you have it set to, and you can even just mute it completely if you want.

HS80 is on sale right now for $119 Black Friday, in my opinion it’s the better headset unless you just have money to blow on the XT, HS80 versus the regular Virtuoso HS80 is a better value.
Good to know that they sound more or less the same. I returned my Virtuoso because I thought they sounded terrible in addition to being extremely uncomfortable.
Only thing stopping me from purchasing anything corsair for ps4/ps5 is lack of eq console support, especially considering how much everyone says the sound improves on these when u dabble on those eqs
There’s reports that the battery life of the HS80 is about 8-hours, and not the advertised 20. Also, reports say it takes 3-hours to charge. The mic, although clear and natural sounding is very flimsy. Reports of people saying the EQ presets are awful minus Pure Direct, which is recommended you leave it on.
This is such a hard choice. I think HS80 slightly edges virtuoso. Some of the things come down to preference. But if they basically sound the same, and the mic sounds better on HS80 & hs80 is more comfortable, the only downside is the lack of Bluetooth connection. Which you can actually rig up a solution for that. Buy a Bluetooth aux adapter and zip tie it to the head strap or something. So your phone wirelessly connects to the Bluetooth receiver which then plugs into the headset via aux cable. You’ll potentially experience a slight audio delay more so than you might with a dedicated Bluetooth receiver built in, but for music & phone calls that doesn’t affect anything. Just videos and mobile gaming maybe
I’m tempted to go to the HS80 wireless because of its microphone alone. It sounds better than the Arctis Nova Pros since SteelSeries tends to sound more nasily. Just hope the sound is good on console

I've had the Virtuoso RGB SE and my head starts to hurt after 30mins of having them on. Currently looking at bying the HS80 instead. Great review, just felt like giving my input after using the Virtuoso for a year now.
HS80 is the solid win between these two headsets. Not because of the price difference, not because of comfort difference and not because of Dolby Atmos ready. HS80 is the winner because you can use them wired instead of wireless. When using the HS80 wired, you get to experience true High Fidelity 24bit/96Khz audio sound.
Before any comparison, one thing the HS80 does right and the Virtuoso does wrong is the ear pad material. Fabric is much better than synthetic leather for comfort and durability.
HS80 is the closest to the what I would say the best headset I've ever used . I love it and if you are choosing . Just buy it holmes. You wont regret it . If you get it on sale even better.
@@attax4063 No issues . There's a mic boost in icue for that. Tbh my complaints would be the advertised battery life. Straight 🧢 But I plug in for the best sound anyways
Got the HS80 and am returning it to Amazon and getting the XT. I don't have a big head but the HS80 head strap fully extended offers no comfort benefit. Actually hurts and the headset itself seems to want to squeeze my head like a lemon. One other thing, the mike feels cheaply made and every time I put the HS80 on or take it off, I feel like I'm about to break the mike off. Wish it could have been hidden in the headset. At least with the XT I will be able to remove it completely.
I'm currently having the same comfortability issue with the HS80's headband being pretty uncomfortable. Have you gotten and tried out the XT's and if so are they much more comfortable cus I'm thinking of returning the HS80's?

I've just got the Virtuoso and as I was using Corsair Voids Pro wireless for quite some time, no other headphones could accommodate my ears. Jump on the Virtuoso after I heard the clear microphone sound in some reviews. Sadly these , like any other headphones I've tried as were pressing the inner plastic on the ear, after 4hous it becomes less than bearable. In hope bigger pads would improve the situation I've ordered some, but than after few more hours I realized how painfully they are sitting on the top of my head (why would corsair put foam on both sides instead all of it at the side that has contact with your head). If you have protruding ears even just a tiny bit, Virtuosos will absolutely not be comfortable and the pressure on top of the head during longer gaming session will become unbearable... I will be getting HS80.
The Virtuoso gave me a horrible head pinch right at the top of my scalp after about 30 minutes. Hope the HS80’s sit much better. Sound and mike on Virtuoso was exceptional!
XT is premium media headphone design HS80 is premium gaming headphone design. Depends what what you need but the XT is a jack of all trades but a master of none. HS80 masters gaming but nothing else. Can get 10% off the HS80 at the minute making it $120.
I tested both of them and for pure gaming te hs 80 tackes the win. The virtuoso are good if you want a multifunctional headset, for pc and phone or waht ever you are going use with them.
i bought 2 of virtuoso rgb se (black metal) and 1 hs80 wireless (black). i love both of it but somehow the hs80 after install icue/corsair driver, it reduce the mic volume volume to -6 db, so i had to tweak with 3rd app, EqualizerAPO. By change the value Preamp: from -6 dB to 11 now its louder and better. i tried already with icue mic boost +10 dB but result is still same, which is slow/low mic.
I already ordered and paid for a pair of HS80s based on another of your comparison videos, but now I wish I'd bought the Virtuosos, which I didnt know existed. Why would they sell headphones that people around you can hear? If I wanted that I would pump the stereo. Can I get different muff attachments for my HS80s?
Flip up mute mic is a huge seller for me. Logitech mostly has it, so been stuck with them and that stupid gHub. I love Corsair, my keyboard is a K70 - best ever! So eyeing that HS80 now :P
Sorry but tried the HS80 and they where way too small for me, and I dont even have a big head. I had to loose the band all the way, meaning that there were no floating feel at all. The clamping force was also way too much , so no comfi for me…Really a shame since they look amazing and the quality feels amazing
First I buyed the Virtuoso headset, but after using it for a cupple of hours, I returned it to the Store and buy the HS80 RGB Wireless, because the Virtuoso was a pain at the top of my head! The only thing that I miss from the virtuoso is the bluetooth conection
Alright what about in fps games like cod or battlefield multiplayer, can we feel difference foot sounds if compare these headsets: Virtuoso SE, HS80, Arctis Pro Wireless, Arctis 9 ? Thanks...
I rather wear a smart watch of preference to be able to pick up calls, save $100 and get the HS80. So much complaints about the head pressure that I'm not even sure if the bluetooth is something to consider right now.
Thanks for your info. Which would you recommend for the Xbox Series X? Currently looking at the Corsair Virtuoso XT, JBL Quantum One and Hyper X Cloud Orbit S
I absolutely love my Virtuoso SE, but I'm a little bit annoyed that you can only take off the mic and not collapse it, and it also makes my ears sweat and feels heavy after using it for hours. I might consider switching to this new one, all I need to know is if the dongle also allows you to connect a mouse at the same time?
I bought the HS80 for 99 € Besides some problems on discord when I plug the usb-c in/out I like those so far . I'm really enjoying them with the EQ boost when playing R6 Siege but battery seems to run low quick after a couple rounds with my boys
Hey @techne, I have same comfort issues as you do with pressure on the sides and top of the head with glasses. Which one would you recommend? - I need good mic for discord - chat/game balance would be good because discord and raiding - sound is also important - comfort above all. - wireless preferred due to glasses and mic but can use wired if need be so not a deal breaker - BT not important at all - PC gaming only I’ve tried following and returned: - blackshark V2 (comfort was ok, ear pads felt a bit warm after use, and had to readjust everytime I put it on, which is annoying) - pro x: too much pressure on the sides - hyper x: again comfort is not the best - roccat syn pro air: was really good sound and mic. But same feeling as you that the ear cups kept itching/scratching a bit and it was annoying enough to return it - kraken tournaments sound wasn’t that exciting tbh Should o try HS80?

HS80 is the solid win between these two headsets. Not because of the price difference, not because of comfort difference and not because of Dolby Atmos ready. HS80 is the winner because you can use them wired instead of wireless.
When using the HS80 wired, you get to experience true High Fidelity 24bit/96Khz audio sound.
Virtuoso is much better quality sound using the cables as well. Too much compression while wireless.
Wdym the virtuoso goes wired aswell? And has more ways to go wired actuslly
Before any comparison, one thing the HS80 does right and the Virtuoso does wrong is the ear pad material. Fabric is much better than synthetic leather for comfort and durability.
The whole design of the ear cups is better on the hs80. Better shape, better padding.
HS80 is the closest to the what I would say the best headset I've ever used . I love it and if you are choosing . Just buy it holmes. You wont regret it . If you get it on sale even better.
Isn't your mic volume too low when on Discord or Teamspeak? Alot of complains about that... :(
@@attax4063 No issues .
Best channel for gaming headsets reviews.
thank you so much
Please review the Lucidsound Ls50x!!!!! Youre literally missing out on the best headset experience EVER! Youre so keen on trying to find the best but until you try these your not gonna hear or feel the best!!! Please review them, YOU WILL LOVE THEM!
Cap
but isn't that mostly for XBOX? It has bluetooth for PC, but I would want lagless for PC not XBOX.
@@stelonous you can buy a dongle for pc
Keep it up man ! Been holding off on getting a wireless headset as I couldn’t make my mind up on steel series or astros .. then all of a sudden these drop and it looks like steel series & astros had a baby !
Which one did you get??
@@LoLo-vh2hn I ordered the HS80 got them yesterday and they are amazing! I’m still new to EQ settings so I’m playing around with that but overall they are super comfortable, everyone says I’m really clear on chat and battery life has been good but I do have rgb off
@@tellis17 thanks man I’m really on the fence about grabbing the steel series pro or these?? I need a good mic and sound for competitive play and streaming
@@LoLo-vh2hn I went to best buy and tried on the steel series never actually owned them and both are very comfortable. But Seeing the mic reviews I was not impressed with steel series mic and when I heard the HS80 I was pretty much sold. So far everyone I talk with says I sound great , so I’m definitely happy with them 👌🏻👍🏻
Update after month use absolutely love this headset !
I'm getting the HS80 cause it's cheaper than the Virtuoso in my country.
Thank you!
I've had my HS80s for about 4 months now and they're already starting to clip out sound every few seconds. About to toss them.
I got the Virtuoso and its perfect. no issues for my taste.
How do you get discount? Don’t get it.
i just bought hs80 bcos your video haha, thank you its really nice
I tested both of them and for pure gaming te hs 80 tackes the win. The virtuoso are good if you want a multifunctional headset, for pc and phone or waht ever you are going use with them.
I got the hs80's and I can say they are the best headset I've ever bought they beat the razor blackshark vs pro and the corsair void pro
Aluminium isn't that heavy compared to plastic. I think that the extra weight on the virtuoso is from the cushion on top of the headset
i bought 2 of virtuoso rgb se (black metal) and 1 hs80 wireless (black).
i love both of it but somehow the hs80 after install icue/corsair driver, it reduce the mic volume volume to -6 db, so i had to tweak with 3rd app, EqualizerAPO. By change the value Preamp: from -6 dB to 11
now its louder and better. i tried already with icue mic boost +10 dB but result is still same, which is slow/low mic.
The HS80 might have the slight edge over the Virtuoso with the Mic but the VIRTUOSOS are so beautiful.
The white HS80s vs the white Virtuoso is a very close comparison
Great review loving the virtuosos.but now I want the hs80 also probably will buy them later. The wife my kill me for buying another headset 😂
Love the video just like usual but I want the funny sub-sections back, please. :) Thanks. Love the detailed comparision.
Sub sections?
I just now right this second bought the hs80 and will arrive in the next couple of hours 😊
I just don't understand how Corsair got the comfort on the Virtuoso so wrong. If they had the HS80's comfort it'd be an absolutely glorious headset.
I like the shape of the void, but the sound of the virtioso. yes I know the void is not in here, but those are my two favorites from corsair.
hs80 mic will also light red and give a feedback tone if you are out of range.
Flip up mute mic is a huge seller for me. Logitech mostly has it, so been stuck with them and that stupid gHub. I love Corsair, my keyboard is a K70 - best ever! So eyeing that HS80 now :P
This is exactly what I wanted to see!
Sorry but tried the HS80 and they where way too small for me, and I dont even have a big head. I had to loose the band all the way, meaning that there were no floating feel at all. The clamping force was also way too much , so no comfi for me…Really a shame since they look amazing and the quality feels amazing
I think comparing headsets in the same price range, such as blackshark v2 Pro, corsair se and cloud flight s would make more sense.
soon ;)
dude i have these HS80 this long and ddint know how to adjust them your the man .....
Great comparison review brother. 😎👍🤙
Was pleased with your previous virtuoso review, but now i think its time to sell my hs70 and get hs80. Excellent work. Greetings from Argentina.

I thought you were introducing the mic, not using it ...
With my soundbar I didn't hear a difference between your mic and the HS80 mic
First I buyed the Virtuoso headset, but after using it for a cupple of hours, I returned it to the Store and buy the HS80 RGB Wireless, because the Virtuoso was a pain at the top of my head!
The only thing that I miss from the virtuoso is the bluetooth conection
which is the better of the two headphones for the dolby amtos ?? or are they more less equal
@@mizar8649 Equal
@@mizar8649 HS80
Nice video. Does the HS offer high bit rate with USB mode and Dolby Atmos like the Virtuoso?
Alright what about in fps games like cod or battlefield multiplayer, can we feel difference foot sounds if compare these headsets: Virtuoso SE, HS80, Arctis Pro Wireless, Arctis 9 ? Thanks...
Really Solid Review, I Wish The XT had the mic of the HS80 tho or if the hs80 had bluetooth, i ordered the xt because i gotta have that bluetooth
No. As far as I know. corsair doesn't have any unifying tech.
I bought the HS80 for 99 €
Besides some problems on discord when I plug the usb-c in/out I like those so far .
I'm really enjoying them with the EQ boost when playing R6 Siege but battery seems to run low quick after a couple rounds with my boys
Hey @techne, I have same comfort issues as you do with pressure on the sides and top of the head with glasses.
Which one would you recommend?
- I need good mic for discord
- chat/game balance would be good because discord and raiding
- sound is also important
- comfort above all.
- wireless preferred due to glasses and mic but can use wired if need be so not a deal breaker
- BT not important at all
- PC gaming only
I’ve tried following and returned:
- blackshark V2 (comfort was ok, ear pads felt a bit warm after use, and had to readjust everytime I put it on, which is annoying)
- pro x: too much pressure on the sides
- hyper x: again comfort is not the best
- roccat syn pro air: was really good sound and mic. But same feeling as you that the ear cups kept itching/scratching a bit and it was annoying enough to return it
- kraken tournaments sound wasn’t that exciting tbh
Should o try HS80?
Virtuoso has more flexibility and better build quality
I order the beyerdynamic MMX 150. And now looking at the Virtuoso I'm not sure about my purchase.
I'm still waiting for fir them to arrive I'm not sure what to do.
If HS80 has a Bluetooth I could go for it 100%.. The XT is heavy and squeeze my head.
When I hear him say he plays R6 that’s all I needed to hear 😌🙌🏼
oh my god,,, this video makes me subscribed,,,,
really need this comparison,,, then my choice is : HS80
Thks for your video. For you the best it's hs80 or virtuoso se ? I need headset for work. Best regards from Belgium
I gotta know man...where do you stand now on the xt vs the SS pro wireless? I know you have boxed them a couple times..have they come back out or is this new XT still winning out?
But both of them are much better then the Void rgb elite headset that corsair made.
The EQ settings you set on PC using the app will not apply when you're going to use it on PS5
does RGB work while using bluetooth? can it be controlled or is it static white or with pallet of colors or what was previously set up by iCUE on PC?
I don't need Bluetooth so I'd get the hs80. And BTW I love your videos 👍
just saying but if you take the hs80 max you can have bluetoots to
Thanks for this bud🤝
i have the Virtouso and don't get all hate its very comfortable provided your head isnt humungous
