I am obsessed with Corsair Virtuoso tbh, I had my first SE in Christmas 2019, got another in Christmas 2020 before I found replacement pads available to my region. Virtuoso XT is my next headset most likely and I just love this headset lineup
Great video, I wanted to buy a Virtuoso but I had absolutely no clue what the differences were between the Premium, SE, and XT. This was incredibly helpful.
This was a fantastic review, you covered everything I can think of regarding headphones. I’m shocked I haven’t come across you before while searching for headphone reviews
I really liked the SE when I had one. For me, it was very comfortable, loved that it had a voice over saying when you mute & unmute your headset (& has a light to show which mode you are in), & it blocked out background noise while you are talking on game chats so it only picks up what you are saying. It doesn't pick up your dog barking or your music playing from your speakers for example. It felt almost like the perfect headset, almost. I had one for about 10 months before I decided to return them. The reason I returned them is that I had a love-hate relationship on the wireless aspect. While it's advertised as wireless, the battery is so piss poor. I was charging the battery so much that it didn't feel like it was a wireless headset at all. It felt like I was always tethered charging the thing more often than not. While that's not a big problem & I don't mind being wired, the included cable is really short. I just didn't think the premium price was worth it when I got a new headset with a much longer wire for a cheaper price (tho my current headset is now just wired, no wireless, won't be doing wireless anymore if the battery is that small).
did you try turning off the RGB to see if that improved the battery life? i am interested in getting the XT so wondering if that was part of your experience.
@@NickAlessi512 I did not actually & I realized that was probably a silly thing on my part of forgetting to consider the RGB lighting once it comes to battery life. I always had it on & forgot about it. Another thing I didn't consider is I always charged it via the USB of my monitor rather than the actual PC. I think maybe I wasn't the most battery considerate person looking back to my experience with it & maybe the battery actually could be better with the proper care. Funny thing is I am going back to it. I've been using a different assortment of headsets (like 4 different ones), but I realized I'm just most comfortable with the Corsair. So I got it again at Black Friday sales & it's coming in tomorrow. Espresso this time instead of Gunmetal.
@@LookItIsHope Awesome! I am currently using Logitech G935 and yeah i have to turn the RGB off to get a full day. I hope turning off the RGB will do good with those, I'm ready to go Corsair on my headphones. Hell A lot of my PC parts are Corsair already lol
Hey Hope that is the exact reason why I chose to get Arctis Wireless Pro from Steelseries because they have swappable batteries and you just plug and play non stop.
@@NickAlessi512 I 've just got the XT for the upgrade because I'm in front of the PC 10 to 14h a day as well (job, games and so on), but I've no battery issues with my SE, in fact I let them charging at night and I can keep with them 8 to 9h for working (meetings, calls...), then watch some videos, gaming with Discord and so on, so for me it's an entire day of battery. With the XT I'll be able to connect to my laptop through bluetooth and to my desktop with the dongle, let's see if the battery is capable of that for a day, 2 connections waste more than one. Also the headrest seems to be improved in the pics, isn't it? 2 days left and I'll be able to tell. Oh and I don't have issues with the ears for reference, but this depends on each one's ears. Honestly I use logi keyboard, gamepad and mouse but I like more this Virtuoso than the G Pro X wireless headset (tried it for a week, then gived to my wife), specially because all corsair wireless headsets have auto-off mode (after configurable time) and logi doesn't (which is weird at the same price)
@@unbiasOrbit No You can not sadly the way I worked around it was just shut it off unplugged on the headphone stand at night and then when I get up i just plug it in and it charges well I wake up works well that way never had a problem of it dying on me yet plus you can't run both 96ghz audio with Dolby Atmos anyways so it low key all works out
Also For the 96GHZ and the Dolby Atmos not working together you can just set the wired mode to 96GHZ and then the wireless mode to Dolby Atmos it saves

@@SirWalterDayton been having it for a week and a half now, I think it’s better than the SE, feels less heavy, better for comfort, tbh I feel like the audio’s the same. That’s just me, doesn’t cut off tho
I'm seriously thinking of buying the SE to complete my corsair peripherals. You said that you could get aftermarket ear cups. Any suggestions on what cups to get that would be better?
Brainwavz most likely but it doesn't come with the plastic adapter. You can either 3d Print the adapter or cut out the stock one (don't recommend this tho)
can someone recommend a pair of aftermarket ear pads? I had the Issue with the original Viruoso and I had to return it despite really liking it. I didn't you there are aftermarket ones for this and now I am tempted to try the XT.

I have both doubly atmos and dtsx for windows 10. If that’s the only main difference I’m probably gonna go with the SE unless I’m missing something. It’s nearly an $80 difference in price for a $10 codec
i am like 33, and your videos are what finally pushed me to get the XTs,, the fact you can use the wired with multiple devices. so i know you have covered in past videos you can connect via usb-c to usb-c to say a phone, but does that work on PC, and still give you the highres audio?
I think I failed to test that this time actually. It worked with the original headset though (USB-C to USB-C on phone) so it probably will here too, though whether you can get hi res that way I'm not sure - doubtful. Bluetooth hi res is likely the better bet.
I personally always have problems with the comfort of headsets. Wearing them all day at work. Which headsets do you recommend for that? Soundwise, I had the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless (not Nova) or the Sony XM4 Bluetooth Headphones and was fine with the quality. Can you help me or people with similar problems with that?
Do you have any fix for my virtouso SE problem? I cant update my dongle for some reason, and I can't do force update with iCue. Dongle version os 0.16xxx while my iCue is on the latest firmware same with the headset. Wired mode has no problem, but with dongle, I cant pair it with my headset. Thanks
Any recommendations for aftermarket replacement earcups? I've seen recommendations for misodiko and brainwavz (both though have to be "adapted" to fit).
Any earpad which is compatible with Beyerdynamics DT990 is compatible on this headphone. I bought 2 Beyer ones and all of them fits perfectly and the good thing is there are soo many Beyer 990 earpads available in market.(I also have Beyerdynamics DT990 with me)
What's the battery life like while having connected both bluetooth and 2.4ghz wireless (RGB off)?. Not necessarily planning using both connections at the same time all day but just to take calls through my phone occasionally when the come.
I would suggest the corsair virtuoso xt if you want the blue tooth version that can connect to your phone and be used for a clean set of headphones for everything. Both are amazing.
Is anybody aware if the SE version can connect to PC and PS at the same time? Like, PC wirelessly and PS4 via the jack in the controller? (Or Vice versa)
Yes. I have had them all. Currently with the xt but planning on returning it due to audio and software issues. I recommend the non se version. Has the best mic quality, has a glossy finish so fingerprint magnet but looks amazing and is much cheaper with the same audio quality as the SE.
@@Madiszen yeah, I got the non-SE version and I'm mostly happy with it... It's a bit uncomfortable tbh, especially on top of my head.. But well, can't really regret my purchase now.. Everything else is as good as expected
@@unbiasOrbit the only advice I can say is to try getting replacement ear pads. I know the padding for the Se and non se version is really shallow but the ear pads fixed my problem for them before I upgraded to the xt. The xt does have extra padding on the top part of the headset but I don't know if it will fix your issue
@@Madiszen for me, the earpads weren't the issue.. it was the lack of padding on the headband that hurts the top of my head if I wear them long enough.. So I had to take a few breaks in between sessions to make sure I don't have those mild headaches from wearing it for too long
Am I the only one who was extremely disappointed in the sound quality of the XT's? I may have just had way too high of an expectation for them, but every EQ adjustment I made just added something missing back in while dropping something else out. Dolby Atmos did not help me with their custom EQ on the XT's like it did on my Gen 4 A50's. There was a slight difference from USB mode to wireless, but not substantial. Not trying to be a buzzkill by any means, half of my PC peripherals/hardware is Corsair. Trust me, I wanted to like them so badly, but sadly I returned them today and put the Arctis Pro Wireless on order. Did anyone have a similar experience? (P.S. I have not owned the Virtuoso SE version or any other iteration of Corsair Headphones, other than the HS70's which I think sounded more accurate.) Thanks!
that’s crazy bro, you literally just have to learn more about sound equalization… OUT OF BOX they do sound super flat. but with the right knowledge and the right equalization i now have the perfect headset that i haven’t found as good quality in another wireless headset or “wired gaming” headset. i hear more things than all of my friends in a game called tarkov, even when i’m further than my friends than them.
So which headphones are comfortable for you if the Virtuoso are not for long periods? Maybe I will have the same problem if I buy them so which are a best
Great headset but corsairs icue4 software may cause problems with your drivers. I couldn't use usb mode once I installed icue4. Quality of the headset is top-notch. The materials feel like you took parts of an mercedes benz and made a headset out of it.
I'm planning to get the Corsair Virtuoso, but I wanna curious abt something.. Aside from the microphone, is the non-SE version the same as the SE(in terms of features or anything)?
@K B i Buy Old Corsair Virtuoso RGB and that dont work in wireless for that I sell that and buy Steelseries 7x and this work perfect and have good sound.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I currently use a Void pro wireless and im just sick of the shit mic quality so looking for something better for wireless wise . I dont have BIG ears so maybe im good
@@TheRealCake well i mean thats obvious but i was saying if there was a headset that had as good quality as a studio mic or less since i dont want to have to get a arm or have it sit in front of me taking up space
i have a question. If my battery is dead, can i use this with the 3.5mm jack into the ps5 controller and it still work? Or is it just dead at that point?
I love your reviews I been trying the XT but I just don’t find them to be even close to my Arctis pro + game dac for audio. I know sound is subjective but how would you compare the XT to say the Arctis pro +game dac or the pro wireless?
Interesting. Is that wired mode with 96khz in Windows? I remember being very impressed with the Arctis Pro +GameDac but that was a long time ago and hard to recall it now.
@@patjcoan Yeah Arctis pro sounds pretty terrible, but I think OP's headset is the Arctis Pro + Game Dac which is wired (they really need to name their products better), so I suspect it's a lot better for this reason. My Arctis Pro failed today after nearly four years, mic stopped working completely, and hinge broke 2 years in. Getting the Virtuoso XT here tomorrow so hopefully it's not as bad.
It also depends on the driver of the headset. If you don't have a planar magnetic driver on a headset, it would be pointless to adjust the equalizer it won't approach a planar magnetic quality sound.
is the volume wheel better than the one in Virtuoso SE ? Mine broke after like 3 months and was muting the sound whenever I moved the head ... for a while, then it stopped doing that and now it mutes the sound only if I touch the wheel.
Would you say you have a pretty big head? Or bigger ears than most? Im considering buying this headset but I'm a bit worried for the ear comfort you mentioned. But Im a girl, with a small head and ears I believe, so maybe it wont be a problem.
Unless you get the SteelSeries Arctis wireless pro, these are definitely better than the 7p. The Arctis wireless pro are better than these though, not by much but Virtuoso XT are better for PC gaming.
How much should i give value to Dolphy Atmos support on headset? Whit like these headsets here one has it and other has Corsair 7.1 on corsair eq, more games in future should have better support for it and do you think Dolpy Atmos and DTS are rolling over the 5.1 and 7.1 headsets? Also if you tune these on corsair software does it save the eq tune in the headset to stay?
You can buy the Dolby atmos and dtsx codecs in the windows store on windows 10/11 for $10 each. Unless I’m missing something the native Dolby atmos support isn’t with the premium
@@S1lverspikeNow that i have these i can tell that you are missing the corsair native 7.1 surround support when it is bundlet whit atmos, also when atmos is enablet i have issues recording game audio and it wont reset back to stereo automatic, you have to go voice settings to reset it whit virtuoso xt.
@@winha1435 so the SE is a better option for a lot less? It so I’ll grab these at Best Buy after work. I currently have the void pro wireless and it’s starting to come apart after 4 years and a 2 year old child.
@@S1lverspike Well i use bluethoot a lot whit phone, every time i take my dog to the walk so theres that whit XT but yeah if i would use these only on computer i would say SE is better, not really sold on Dolphy Atmos thing. I had Voids before kids kinda finished those, really liked to use those whit surround and some eq tune i though they were lot better than reviews it got, virtuoso has differend kinda of sound overall. If you end up buying these i could share my eq settings you might like it since you had voids before. I also have some beyerdynamics and other headphones as well but since i got settings right on these virtuoso i havent used them a lot.
@@winha1435 thanks for the info. I have Bluetooth headphones already so even though it’s a plus to have on my headset it’s not worth the premium. I have a pair of Xbox headphones that do the same thing as well. It’s nice to be able to listen to music while playing games but since these will only be used on pc I can’t justify the premium price. Dolby and dtsx have to have support in game for it to function properly otherwise it’s like an eq setting. It still sounds good but it’s better with native support.
Hey, I bought an Elgato wave 3 yesterday and I'm looking for some good sound tho. My budget ist 300$ and I only want to play games (almost everything AAA - esports games) with that thing. I can't decide between an Rog Delta S or an Vrtuoso Xt. Can anyone help?

Drivers on my XT's blew in less than 3 months. I love corsair products but for me this one was a miss. I stick with my steel series arctis wireless pro
I could still return them so I washed my hands of them. It’s a bummer because I had the same issue with the preceding virtuosos too. It’s not like I’m demanding much my PC is at around 50% volume. @@TheProvokedPrawn Okay, thanks for the reply!
@@HarrowOfficial I believe WickedCushion now has replacement cushions for the Virtuoso now. They had some coming soon so they might be out now

Hi! I have had SE headphones for several years, but the efficiency is coming to an end Is it worth buying XT? It will be better?
Nice review bro.
Thank you ❤️. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
That was a good review, thx
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
@@TheProvokedPrawn Why not? Subbed!
i already have the Atmos license so, i'm good going with borth.
Pls kindly review this headset and if its worth the price for the features it offers Thermaltake Argent H7 Stereo
I bought 2 Beyer ones and all of them fits perfectly and the good thing is there are soo many Beyer 990 earpads available in market.(I also have Beyerdynamics DT990 with me)
How good is the audio quality with the Bluetooth connection? Can you pair it with a modern smart TV?
yes and the auido is really good
What's the battery life like while having connected both bluetooth and 2.4ghz wireless (RGB off)?. Not necessarily planning using both connections at the same time all day but just to take calls through my phone occasionally when the come.
great vid!!
Thanks for watching :)
Do the wicked air cups solve the comfort issues? (I work 9 hours a day, and will be using these for that long)
(I currently use wicked cushions for the HS80 Pro's)
Is it wise to get this headset for pc or are there better ones out there? I would also like to use it Bluetooth so I’m not sure if I should get these
I would suggest the corsair virtuoso xt if you want the blue tooth version that can connect to your phone and be used for a clean set of headphones for everything. Both are amazing.
Is it better than the void pro's microphone? My wired void pro died a week ago and I might wanna try the XT.
Is it fixed the static noise and white noise coming from the headset when icue is installed?? This is the important question
Is anybody aware if the SE version can connect to PC and PS at the same time?
Like, PC wirelessly and PS4 via the jack in the controller? (Or Vice versa)
Aside from the microphone, is the non-SE version the same as the SE(in terms of features or anything)?
So I had to take a few breaks in between sessions to make sure I don't have those mild headaches from wearing it for too long
@@Madiszen which software issues and audio are you having?
How do you like the Arctis pro wireless?
AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
that’s crazy bro, you literally just have to learn more about sound equalization… OUT OF BOX they do sound super flat. but with the right knowledge and the right equalization i now have the perfect headset that i haven’t found as good quality in another wireless headset or “wired gaming” headset. i hear more things than all of my friends in a game called tarkov, even when i’m further than my friends than them.
So which headphones are comfortable for you if the Virtuoso are not for long periods? Maybe I will have the same problem if I buy them so which are a best
Corsair HS80, Astro A50, Beyerdynamic DT770, Audeze Penrose, etc Headset reviews: ua-cam.com/play/PLlRFhsGPgCG8HM1vU8x0JMDgkAhUvaiyc.html
What do you guys think which Virtuoso I should get for great sound only?
Where did you get that skull? its awesome!
The glass one is from Amazon. If you search for glass headphone stand you should find it
@@TheProvokedPrawn thx a lot mate!
Anyone using the XT ? How are they ?
I'm still not 100% sure to buy or not.
There's actually a really good overview and review of them right here!
ua-cam.com/video/dxW_MX8BW1g/v-deo.html
is there any difference besides no dolby atmos and no volume wheel on the SE? i could get the SE for about 110 used and the xt for around 140 ish
Can you use the SE’s dongle with a XT headset? I have an SE and want an XT without the dongle to save money, is this viable?
Hi, the SE mic is 9.5mm open and the XT is the same?
If Virtuoso XT can connect with wireless Dongle 2.4Ghz is perfect but I see only using wired 3.5m can work with Nintendo Switch :"(
@K B i Buy Old Corsair Virtuoso RGB and that dont work in wireless for that I sell that and buy Steelseries 7x and this work perfect and have good sound.
Which one would you guys buy the original, SE, XT?
XT
Trying to decide on a wireless headset to get with a good quality mic and sound. Would this be THE one to recommend to someone for a wireless headset?
It's a great headset, if you have small ears.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I currently use a Void pro wireless and im just sick of the shit mic quality so looking for something better for wireless wise . I dont have BIG ears so maybe im good
@@DirtyLimez your best bet is to get a studio mic and a studio headset if you want the best quality for both.
I remember being very impressed with the Arctis Pro +GameDac but that was a long time ago and hard to recall it now.
that's interesting, i gave my friends my arctis pros cuz i thought they sounded terrible
11:25 and 12:30 both times you said XT, I'm confused which one is which.
3:56 ok so the first one is XT and the second is SE.
Which I think is night and day in mic quality (SE is better IMO)
Que bueno video saludos desde argentina (Nice Video)
Would you say you have a pretty big head? Or bigger ears than most?
Im considering buying this headset but I'm a bit worried for the ear comfort you mentioned. But Im a girl, with a small head and ears I believe, so maybe it wont be a problem.
Not massive I don't think. But I'm not the only one. Google around and you'll see 😭
@@TheProvokedPrawn Alright! Ty for replying, and ty for the very good review :)
Would these be a better option over the Steel Series Arctis 7P?
Unless you get the SteelSeries Arctis wireless pro, these are definitely better than the 7p.
The Arctis wireless pro are better than these though, not by much but Virtuoso XT are better for PC gaming.
You can buy a license for Dolby Atmos to use with the Virtuoso SE - it stays tied to your Microsoft Windows store account
is the distance between the driver and the earpads really 1.5cm ?
So thers like 3 versions of the Virtuoso?
1- The regular virtuoso (is not XT or SE)
2- The virtuoso SE
3- The Virtuoso XT
Yup and all the different colours.
I have both Se and Xt, I like the xt better but the se feels more heavier for some reason i dont know why
Could it be the difference in finish because I know some SE have the plastic finish.
Could you tell me if listening to music both sound the same?
This or JBL 810 which is better?
I've seen alot of issue with the sidetone feature on both of these units, has this been resolved?
Quick question. I already own a Dolby atoms license. Why should I buy the XT vs the SE?
Bluetooth?
@@TheProvokedPrawn Oh, yeah you're right! But is there any other features over the SE? Sound wise?
@@camerontraer3136 thanks for asking since I have atmos and dtsx already I can save a bunch of money
Can it be wired to an external audio card ? (e.g. Creative SoundBlaster G3)
Now im torn btwn getting the sony xm4 or this XT.
Hey, I bought an Elgato wave 3 yesterday and I'm looking for some good sound tho. My budget ist 300$ and I only want to play games (almost everything AAA - esports games) with that thing. I can't decide between an Rog Delta S or an Vrtuoso Xt. Can anyone help?
fuck finally i wanted the se but i refused to get it because it didnt have bluetooth, im so glad they listened and added it. im certainly gonna take a good look at em now. hope i can find em.
i dont have that problem with the ear cups i wear them all day easily
you should become a voice actor:D

@@TheProvokedPrawn yes sir!
Would you say the speaker quality is superior to the void?
Yes
Can it be used wireless with Xbox or ps5
Does the xt have wireless connection directly to the xbox series x
Can the se support Dolby atmos if I already have a subscription for atmos?
corsair supplies a licence for you to use the atmos software
fortunately my ears are small and a perfect fit to my virtuoso SE xD
🤣
When it comes to sound quality are SE and XT the same? Or the XT sounds better?
I think it's the same exact mic
I didn’t understand which is better ?
Technically the XT but only because of Bluetooth and Dolby Atmos
Drivers on my XT's blew in less than 3 months. I love corsair products but for me this one was a miss. I stick with my steel series arctis wireless pro
Weird. You're under warranty still surely? But that sucks. Sorry to hear it.
I could still return them so I washed my hands of them. It’s a bummer because I had the same issue with the preceding virtuosos too. It’s not like I’m demanding much my PC is at around 50% volume. I love Corsair products. I just seem to have bad luck with their headsets. They were fantastic while they worked.
