How to access fuel pump on 2007 Toyota Yaris

One day in the dead of our Minnesota winter, my trusty Yaris did not start.
I tried a couple of fixes (changed spark plugs, and changed all ignition coils to no avail.
In the end, changing out the fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator got the Yaris back in action. You could just buy the entire fuel pump housing assembly, rather than buying one or two of the constituent parts. That would be the safer route, but it can be a bit more expensive.
