I recently picked up a 70 1600 and was aiming to stick a vg35hr in but while I hunt that down I got a z31 to pull the vg and trans out and put in the 1600 for the time being! Very sweet clean build you guys have here, very inspirational
My Grandmother had one of these. I used to sit on the trunk lid while she drove around SoCal. After sitting in the driveway for about 5 years, she sold it for a few hundred dollars due to a bad clutch. Heh, oh well.
+That Racing Life My best friend has a 1967 datsun roaster the engine has been completely restored and also the transmission also well.. But it's been sitting in his garage for t least 14 years not put back together yet... he works late just don't have the time. .. I wish I could have some way to get it done for my best friend. .. but it would be expensive and time. . He lives in California our home town. .and I now live in Vegas. .. we've been friends since 1975....
Ricer84 D the k series motor is what, 20- 30 years more modern of design? you really can't declare that Honda builds a better motor because their modern engine is more powerful than a 25 year old design. that's like saying a 20 year old hottie is way better looking than your Grandma. well duh. glad you're paying attention. next time use that little nogging of yours to make a competent argument.

That is my favorite car ever. I had a red ‘69 about 20 years ago. This is the mod that I wanted to do, and still do. Great job!
Nice video. I'm stroking my 66 1600 out to 2 liters and a little more aggressive cam. Having some head work done too. Should be a hoot.
I've talked with mike a bunch of times on Glendora Mountain Road. Super cool guy, loves talking and answering questions about his car.
Yeah, super nice dude!
Yeah Mike is a real nice guy. His red Roadster is a beast.
the silver grey with red looks beautiful, quite Db5 esque in that combo.
Perfect combo on these cars!
Would love to have one of these but I do like the interior of the earlier models though
Great builds out of KRD.

Oh man I love it. I want one
Fun car!
Awesome 😎

Get some family and friends together and put in some work or try to find some funding to get a shop to work on it!
Mmmm sr20 noises!
Would be a little better with a VE but hey, still pretty awesome :)
Doing the sr20 swap for a customer now.
It's such a great combo!
How much does it cost for that swap

THANKS!!
Sorry, but gee the fitting of that front driver's guard could have been a lot better, it seems way out of wack! see at 2:05 in
Hello, any idea how fast is it from 0-60?
I do not, sorry.
Stock it is about 8 seconds
sr20ve 20v head with sr20det rwd trans would be the purist match for this beauty
"Frame off restoration" yet looks like they didn't take the time to square up the body work on the drivers side ....
STOP CALLING IT AN OLD CAR! It's only a '69!!!
Its 52 years old
So tecnically its an old car
Honda k24 or s2000 motor would be nice.
F20c would be a perfect fit for the chassis. About the same as Mike's SR20VE setup!
the f20 makes so much more power than sr20 and the VTEC K24 motor with s2000 trans is a torque monster. Honda motor and trans is the way to go.
SR20DE yes. SR20VE not much more if it is built properly. K24 is for sure way more powerful when built!
Honda k24 with bolt on parts and a Kpro EMS can make over 200 hp with out stress. Honda just makes better motors.
