    BBS02 and HD motors have successfully used nylon gears for years, pushing the same or higher power than the M560. the chances of the nylon gear failing are far lower than a bearing failure or grease displacement from thr gear teeth. The nylon gear is great because it makes the motor extremely silent. If you want to hot rod the motor and cook it eventually, go for the PEEK gear. full steel gearboxes are just horribly loud and annoying

    When this M560 engine was produced (2023 or maybe 2024)?
    The upcoming new version of the M560 is expected to have improved gear shapes and something else. I heard that it should minimalize noise problem.

    Didn't even know there was an M560! Are they both CANBUS? Edit: I actually don't mind the sound of the M560. The sound of an electric motor never bothered me (with or without the steel gear)

      Yes they are both Canbus

    Why didn’t you comment on the over run? I had 3 of these when they were first released and love them except for the noise and the over run. The over run is terrible. It is not consistent and at times dangerous I took the motors and gave them away to see if someone could develop a fix. I’m back to riding Luna Ludicrous which is a little more thirsty on the battery but predictable.

      what do you mean by over run? like it keeps going when you stop pedaling?

    • @garyfuller6553
      @garyfuller6553 4 місяці тому

      Yes, when you stop peddling the motor continues to push you if you are just starting out and let off the pedals it will actually accelerate after you stop, which can be very scary

      I should say the controller is buttery smooth from standstill. I would say it is on par with Bosch or Bros. I don’t know why they have the overrun, but they definitely need to fix that. This motor is a nightmare just because of that.

      To solve this problem could i install a brake sensor?

      Frey has worked with Bafang on Custom Firmware for the M560 and we did not notice significant overrun with our test bike. The hill test is also not technical enough for overrun to be an issue on any of the motors we have tested.

    Thanks boyz. So won't be selling my M600 for a 560. Durability? 2 years 1000+km no issue motor wise. Seems the battery is the likely weak link.

      1000km in 2 years, that's shocking.

      my customer has 26000km in 3 years on his BBS02 which had a nylon gear. the gear is as good as new, but one ball bearing disintegrated.
      no need for steel gears up to 1500W
