Everyone is speaking about Emma Stone while I'm here in total awe by the actress playing the hairdresser. Such a calm and relaxing voice. The expression of her eyes and the movement of her hands as well. She looks so earthy and tender 😌
Earthy is the perfect word for her. Sweet, but not fragile.
Her name is andrea riceborough, very talented actress very soft spoken😊
Emma stone Is going to be the bad guy in a certain Disney movie
Abigail Réau I love her she needs more appreciation
@@wrightfamily7381 yeah I think she is playing in a remake for cruella de vill (101 dalmatians)
“Just get it out of my face” *gives her bangs*
Beck Nielsen probably meant mostly out of her eye sight
Beck Nielsen "can I just have a couple of inches taking off the top please?" *Cuts all of my hair off, and dyes the remaining half inch black*
Ewan Oxborrow well you literally said cut inches from the TOP. Not the bottom 😂😂
And idk about the hair dye part lmfao
Cassandra G. it makes sense to say off the top for guys lol
uh huh listen boi my first love story yeah I'm realizing that now lmao I wasn't all there when I posted that comment
the woman with the afro at the end just standin' there smillin like "guuuurrl she's totally your type"
Emily the Catfish HEWWO
Trash hHh omg hi xD yours is cuter tho
Sunny Eas wtf
Hahahahaha
No
This scene is the exact definition of filmmaking. The whole sensory experience. Every small aspect; the ambiance, the actors, the tempo, the tone, the words, everything. Every single thing plays a part in the cinematic experience of a film. When you can understand a person’s entire personality from them barely saying any words, and them barely doing anything, you know it’s a good film. This is a perfect example of that.
Except in the end the loud banging on the glass 🙄
Emma Stone nails the *gay panic* face
Rather be a gay woman than a gay man. That butthole surfin' stuff would be the shits.
@@fiddlyphuk6414 agreed. women are lucky they are perfect!
Hussein Nour wdym being a woman’s the worst
@@shrekdonkeh6190 I dont get the question.
Shrek Donkeh ikr...periods, vagina ripping, unequal rights, getting sexually harassed and havin to keep quiet....sucks
This scene is so beautifully done 😊
Wish this scene was longer.....so relaxing.
Honestly I wish more hairdressers were like this. To feel like you're being treated like a PERSON rather than just another customer. To feel comfortable enough to trust them. And to actually feel like you're having a conversation instead of just the fake questions. Maybe if I visited the same hairdresser for long enough I'd feel these things. But maybe that's why I don't really see hairdressers anymore - because I don't see the same one for long enough to trust them. Instead it just feels like a stranger is in control of how I look.
When you've found a hairdresser you trust it makes a huge difference. I started going to my mom's hairdresser last year and because he knows my personality he helps bring it out in my hair, even when I tried to convince him that I should make it darker just to be safer he's like no way I know that's not what you really want lol.
replace hairdresser with dates. tinder is killing a generation.
Finding a soulmate is overrated. Finding a great hairdresser that you can trust your hair and talk with ease is gold.
Sorry snomosam you cant find a good hairdresser its a very close relationship and you can often open up to them about things you wouldn't tell others. I have a great relationship with my hairdresser who does one on one in a very small salon so you don't feel as if your just another customer.
Yeah but whispering in a strangers ears might wanna make them leave because it might make them weirded out
I think this scene was designed to make all wlw physically incabapble of breathing the whole time
im male but somehow I relate
@MidnightFlower13 "Women who love women"; lesbian or bisexual women.
I’m straight but holy shit the sexual tension left me without words
Uh yeah, I bought the movie for this one scene. The rest is great but, uh, yeah, wow …
literally
Could this be the first intentional ASMR movie scene, since the directors specifically based it off ASMR videos for the desired effect of inducing ASMR in people where as most movies that have ASMR scene in them didn't do it on purpose.
MikeMJPMUNCH the director made it intentional there's commentary on it
I know they did but I'm wondering if any other directors have ever done it before that is why I was saying this could be the first ASMR scene movies to be done intentionally as I beleive alot of director that have ASMR type scenes in their movies might not be aware of it i.e. Paul Thomas Anderson has alot of ASMR scenes in Phantom Thread but I don't think he knows about ASMR.
MikeMJPMUNCH I want to know the same because the sounds are amazing
Someone tell us pls
The Duke of Burgundy has a lot of intentional ASMR. It's also just a great movie
That lavender oil part is sooo relaxing
Change the title to " first intentional asmr scene in a movie "
Views should go up pretty quick
Added ASMR to the title. Thanks for the tip.
Justin Pearl I’ve been on UA-cam long enough to know that that’ll attract the wrong kind of people.
@@bluesummers5051 why do you say that? Don't know where youve been looking, but most asmr communities are pretty chill and supportive
I heard the director was intending this, do you have the interview?
@@DoctorBungo The interview was in Fast Company, with the title " ASMR Comes To Hollywood In “Battle Of The Sexes” ". As of writing this comment, it is still up on the web, searchable via Google, and referenced from the Wikipedia page on ASMR.
Never saw such a special ASMR scene in a movie before. Love it! Could watch it over and over 😍
That background music is so cool and soothing. Is that what lesbians hear when they fall in love?
boog567 yes, everytime.
Yess
Ikr. It sounds amazing.
Yes actually
boog567 someone who you suddenly can relax around, be yourself, and feel pretty at the same time, someone that gives you the feeling of them deserving to know you better and wanting to deserve to do the same to the other, must be nice. I am a gay man in a relationship with a man I love dearly, but this ain't something he can give me, but I have Asmr for that. This is what I expect of movie production quality Asmr, to make me shudder and convey such a beautiful feeling.
Andrea Riseborough has the perfect voice for ASMR videos and when she said "Marilyn" I just melted.
1:09
Get all relaxed and then 2:22 *hammers on door.* "I'm awake now."
1967db p
Same 😫
I wanted to throw my coffee at the bitch who hammered on the door she gave me a heart attack 😂
who the fuck puts asmr in the title and then doesn't edit out a random loud ass noise in the video. RIP
I specially have to pause right before that door banging scene otherwise it ruins the entire soothing effect
00:56 I love pointers and hair parting. It's relaxing how she just slides the comb down her hair.
Seriously one of the cutest scenes ever
I adored (the actress who played) Marilyn’s voice in this scene - so tranquil and beautiful
I'm not even a lesbian and this is making me feel things.
I'm a straight guy but this is as close to feeling like a lesbian woman as I am gonna get....🤣
What a great day to be bisexual
I'm not even human and this is making me feel things.
Ikr, this really captured the feeling of having feelings for someone and that awkward first exchange of trying to see what the other person's intentions are. Really makes you internalize that being gay / bi / etc. is just like being straight but the other person is the same sex as you
Because still in hpllywppd men are afraid to see as not macho, there's no male version of this scene... 🤧 🧐🧐🤔🤔🙄
Marilyn truly needs her own ASMR channel
Emma Stone looks so different with black hair. They both play this so incredibly well that I just kind of love it.
Damn how can someone create such an peaceful scene and the sound . This feels even better when you're happy .
This needs to be picture of the year. Emma Stone should win best actress again for her work in this movie. Twice in a row. She deserves it
George Frey ugh....This movie is awful. unlikeable main character and really unlikable female lover character. Treating her husband as a complete Chuck which is made out to be totally ok because "Lesbian Love!!!" This movie it way to "female power" it's super cringe.
carpetfluff35 yea it's a true story based on real people...so what's your point??
It still comes off as making Emma Stones character to be a selfish brat who still couldn't bring herself to be bothered to tell her husband the truth. Even the girlfriend hair dresser acted super entitled. Neither were likeable characters because of this. You joke about someone being "cucked"....but it's what happened to the husband in the film. He was done dirty...Yet The film makes it out to all be ok though because what...??....Lesbian Love conquers all?? Lol.
I felt like the movie downplayed the fact that Stone and her girlfriend were selfish, awful acting people.
i feel this should have been her win, i didn’t enjoy La La Land at all and she had definitely done better than that, especially this role! thought she did it very well, wish she won the oscar for this
Mr. Fett Esq. they're not "awful people", they're flawed. that's what makes for interesting storytelling. coming out today is hard, i don't blame her one bit for not being able to back then. also, he clearly knew and could have removed himself from the situation if he had wanted to. and clearly lesbian love doesn't "conquer all" because things went to shit between them afterwards. the movie isn't shitty just because you can't relate to being a woman.
sgtmian lol...right..That's why, I guess I just "can't relate to being a woman".....that makes her being a scumbag all ok...sorry I meant "flawed character".
I just love that this scene is so masterfully constructed to the point that Marilyn says that she puts lavender oil on her wrists to relax the costumers and, to pass that sensation to the audience, not only the scene has a genious sound production to feel like an asmr but the score that is playing on the background is called Lavender Oil. The directors thought on every detail on this one.
Andrea Riseborough disappears in to every role she does. For the longest time, I never knew she was the same actress from film to film; this, Birdman, W.E, Crocodile, Never Let me Go, Happy Go Lucky...she is one of my favourite actresses.
Honestly whenever I have a headache, I literally just go and watch this video. Works like a charm.
This scene is so sweet. So intimate and heartwarming. Beautiful
I would like Marilyn to read me a book.
Best sound design hands down
1:37 gives me chills and peace
I LOVED THIS SCENE. Emma Stone is gorgeous and just the way it plays out... just tingles all around
idk but i always feel like im gonna cry everytime i hear that music its so lovely
diiiva it makes me fall asleep
It feels like something pure and tender, innocent... like love I think.
everytime there’s a close up on emma all i see is harry styles with glasses
hgfeqgflhlsbVUFLAEUOIDPVD
too real
the misadventures of lay HAHAHAHA OMG how do i unsee this
oH MY
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
You have ruined it.
I have watched this over and over so many times
The sound of snipping hair sounds like someone trying to light a nearly empty lighter.
This is a nice scene to "watch" with your eyes closed. Very relaxing.
this scene is like an asmr session ,dunno why lol
Hale macguff The New York Times actually was talking with some writers/producers of the film. And they said they actually based this scene off of ASMR videos on UA-cam.
George Frey yes actually after I wrote this comment,I saw that lol.thank you^^
meanwhile all my hairdresser does is tug my hair with her comb agressively and getting angry about how tangled and frizzy my hair is. LOL
Maybe she does it cause she likes you ,
girl if she’s trying to comb curly hair she isn’t a good hairdressser
this was so relaxing but the ending stressed me out so much
Goes from “falling asleep” to “DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER SAVE ME”
I don't know what was more beautiful those warm friendly faces or those gentle voices
Her: just get it out of my face
Marilyn: **shaves her bald**
Her: Wtf
Marilyn: I mean you did say get it out of my face
Rainbow Cabinet 😂😂😂 That's a good one. Fuck you mate, I almost drop off my bed laughing.
The visual triggers are amazing, Jonathan Dayton is superb.
Smooth Emma very smooth giving her the tickets at the late moment ;)
The hair cutting ASMR is sending me to heaven!
this is a gay moment too. gaysmr
Omg I love it.
This was such a great scene even I was relaxed. Lol I love unintentional asmr
It is not unintentional, rather the opposite
god the door banging in the end scared the hell out of me lol
I haven't had an asmr reaction like that in months, wow
The music is so calming
People who have had chemistry on screen: these two and that’s it
Soo.. she didnt pay?
y would she
Right.......lol that's all I'm thinking about now lol
You pay at the beginning sometimes or have a tab if you go to the same place often
In Chris Evert‘s book, she said most pro tennis players at the time knew something was going on between Billie Jean and her hairdresser, but no one said anything.
2:25 That sound completely ruins this beautiful video 😭
that’s the point
You could just get it out of my face
*gets bangs *
I watch this over and over again💤
About to fall asleep until i heard the ending scene
this movie makes me think I’m gay
CelticMusicFan7 SKSKDKKSKS WHAT DOES THAT MEAN
awww that’s so cute
Awww ma gawwd same ;)))))
I'm not gay. I just love everybody.
Same here!
The knock on the door at the end was just like how my family members knock on my door every time making me jump lol
I love the salon juist people playing with your hair and than that trimming sound it’s so relaxing
I always wondered why no one included this as an ASMR scene and I see I spoke too soon. lol This scene is absolutely relaxing.
The background music gives me little big planet vibes ughh I just wanna listen to it on repeat 💫
Love this! Thanks so much for pointing out this aspect from the film.
The way she says the word “relax” is the same way that Lea Thompson says it in Back to the Future
I need this looped
You can get the youtube looper.
Right click the video and hit "loop"
The songs name is lavender oil by Nicholas britell
EMMA STONE IS EXPECTING!
the ASMR in this scene is great 😭😭😭🥺
amazing!! no matter style she takes in her films, Emma Stone is still very pretty.
that was so dreamy 😊
the background music is so fucking beautiful
Beautiful scene.
this really calmed me down
yup! been listening to it for about a year now, the community is such a nice place :)
I liked her haircut before more than the one after
Me too I didn't like the after
ASMR confession : first time I saw an ASMR scene in a movie was “letters to Juliet” when she came to check on Amanda in her room and brushed her hair and I used it to sleep several times
so true!!!!
Mariam Gweely it's on UA-cam that scene I'm going to go watch
ua-cam.com/video/dIrItM6inDE/v-deo.html
That scene gives me ASMR TOO! the first ASMR scene I ever saw was the movie Stepmom. When she is teaching her how to paint the leaves on the trees. ASMR is a wonderful thing
First ever ever was Toy Story 2 when the toy guy fixes woody
0:23-0:26 Billies hair is changed and then the shot cuts and we see her hair back to its original style
This is probably the most watched scene in the movie lol
Feeling so warm and fuzzy watching this
1:45 - 2:22 Just to let you guys know.
I’ve never seen this movie but if I ever do, I’ll be able to quote this scene word for word lmao
Tell me why I've watched this 4 times in 24 hours
I don't know why but the music makes me all nostalgic remembering when I was younger...
I hate that this scene is like
Relaxing harmony, beautiful music, and a calming atmosphere and then…
BANG BANG BANG!!!! on a window.
Scared the shit outta me
Ugh this scene is so soothing to the senses…..
If I was one of her customers I would fall in love with her Instantly I mean the woman is gorgeous
That woman turned out to be the most expensive relationship that Billie Jean ended up being in.
What happened?
@@sparksfly5877 Wikipedia. Affairs never end nicely.
*inhale*
*exhale* DAMMIT I SHIP
For all the slightly clueless people in the comments- They were secret lovers
I can't stop watching this video, I mean, I love movies with asmr, asmr and lesbians
This scene is tender, dreamy, beautiful. ❤
watching this makes me have tingles even in another life, and also something else....
So relaxing.
aw emma looks so cute here!!!
Marilyn is what I aspire to be. I want to relax people like that
Marilyn threw herself off of Billie's balcony after she couldn't force her to stay with her. Then she outed her after failing to blackmail her. So don't be like Marilyn
This exact scene was my lesbian awakening
I dont know what in tf I'm watching but I'm not complaining
Does anyone know the song in the background not the instrumental
This is so ASMR. Fall in love, I mean.
I looove this scene so much!
Me2, it’s just perfect
