    It sends a message that Sunak wishes to send; that is: if you are a voter who has an grievance, no matter how obnoxious, how emotional, how prejudiced, or how irrational, I'm your man. Vote for me. I'll listen to your rant and I'll tell you whatever you want to hear, and I'll let you vent your pent up anger and hatred at whomsoever you like, at the expense of the country's interests, so long as I remain in Government. MPs don't resign, in one of those arcane rules that they seem to have all the time in the world to create even though they struggle to solve the simplest of real-life issues. They are appointed Crown Steward and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds, which as a Crown appointment means they cannot be an MP any longer. It's the dumbest of traditions. Of course, 30p Lee doesn't need to do this, as he is only being given a job with the Conservative party, not he Crown. Meanwhile, the rest of the MPs are already watering down the commitment to reign in their second jobs as company directors taking free cash for half a day's work a year. They're all struggling, don't ya know! :-)

    Question: What is Sunak ACTUALLY FOR? Not in beliefs or policies, but in the sense of a drill is used to drill holes and drive screws in or out, or a carving knife is used to carve the Christmas turkey.
    He promised honesty, integrity, accountability and transparency in his government - but doesn't appear to have provided any of them to any noticeable extent.

    You know that's one thing as an American who is not quite yet 40, when I go back and watch a bit of Fry and Laurie reruns I often have to do a bit of research to get the political jokes of which there were quite many. I mean we're not very cultured over here about world politics and we certainly don't spend a lot of time learning what the politics of other countries were when we were two. But what the educational system failed to provide me. I will provide myself in order to understand jokes.
    But now that I listen to this everyday and know what's going on over there much more than I ever did when I was two, What exactly is the comparable thing to a bit of Fry and Laurie that this will help me with? I don't think there is such a thing.

    • @VoidDragon82
      @VoidDragon82 Рік тому +1

      There isn't anything comparable, mate. We've left the realm of rationality, compassion, honesty and integrity; we've even left satire in the dirt. I'm a British-Indian, born and raised in England my entire 41 years old live, yet after Brexit I've had people I've worked with for 7 years say "but you're not really English though, are you". We've lost ourselves to hate, bigotry and to the little englander syndrome. I have family in the states so I keep up politically what's happening there I see that both the political and social arena has become very right wing in both our countries.

    Anderson comes from scab country - the Nottinghamshire coalfields. So it doesn't surprise me he should flip over to the Tories.
    That part of the world has always been an oddity, Labour but reactionary at the same time, which makes you wonder why they ever voted labour.
    Probably just on economic grounds, they'd vote Tory but they ultimately couldn't afford to.
    Which is the same with many of these so-called Red Wall seats, they've always had a conservative bent, but needed Labour on economic grounds.
    Bit like Anderson himself, up until recently. He's probably always been a Tory at heart, just no room for him until Johnson came to power.
    Johnson's combination of Brexit, one nation Toryism, and leveling up swayed the heads of many in traditional working class seats/ But alas, as always, they got suckered in. Just like the Nottingham miners/ who worked through the strike for Thatcher.
