My grandmother was the one who made those curtains that he passes through every show.

I'm 80 now, and I'll never forget how much my Dad loved the Carson show. I think he laughed more in that one hour every week night than I'd ever herd him laugh in my life. I can still hear it! Thanks Jonny!!

You caught that too!! I actually thought I missed something, so I went back to the young photo's of his son, even though I totally recognized a young Justin Bateman.

My Dad looks so much like Johnny Carson that when I was a little girl on vacation at Disneyland.... People would stop us to ask for my Dad's autograph. When they look at the autograph I still remember the question marks written on their faces. My Dad never missed a single show. Had his same since of humor too. Rip Johnny. Great memory's of good times.

When TV was TV and show where shows not as much of a propaganda farming for fear and exclusion. Yes we had news and political twists but not like we see to day . Your child hood was out side with friends and not a cold machine to dull you humanity. We lost that moment when we start needing attention more then conversation and ideas .

Johnny Carson was, at one time, the most loved man in the WORLD....not just here, in America!! He was loved by nearly every person in show business!! His quick wit was held high in reveration, and his candid and easy-going demeanor was unriveled!! I miss this great entertainer, perhaps more than any other celebrity!! RIP Johnny!! You have positively touched millions of people's lives!!

Oh the days when comedy still existed because people would rather laugh at something instead of getting offended over everything. When talk shows could talk openly about lots of different subjects instead of being forced to only push certain narratives and ideologies and being terrified that they may say the wrong word or use the wrong pronoun.😢

It’s Bob Hope . That’s why Carson loved Rickles and Robin Williams . No notes both just winged it Hope was terribly overrated and had to use cue cards constantly.

Tom Snyder was great ! ... he was so entertaining brilliant , a lot of fun .
I have a feeling Johnny was also a bit jealous of Tom Snyder because he really didn't seem to care what people thought of him .
There was a more free-spirited type of fun with Tom and it always felt more like a one-man party or cocktail party with Tom Snyder .
He was such a great storyteller .

  • @MaccaBased

The various conflicts Carson had with a number of celebrities speaks more to his ego than anything else. He simply didn't want anyone to succeed in the industry format he worked in. Seems as though he was a very insecure man.
Add to that four marriages, alcoholism, adultery, and other foils and it appears fairly a straightforward yet complex deal.

who isnt an alcoholic in hollywood. every story about every actor/actress seems to be about alcoholism/addictions. there is nobody in that culture or in that circle that seem to help these folks.they work around their disease, they put up with their disease, they allow their disease. its so sad and tragic. he had so much to give and he had a presence about him like so many like him but its over-shadowed by the dark-side of addiction.
