I'm 80 now, and I'll never forget how much my Dad loved the Carson show. I think he laughed more in that one hour every week night than I'd ever herd him laugh in my life. I can still hear it! Thanks Jonny!!
You caught that too!! I actually thought I missed something, so I went back to the young photo's of his son, even though I totally recognized a young Justin Bateman.
My Dad looks so much like Johnny Carson that when I was a little girl on vacation at Disneyland.... People would stop us to ask for my Dad's autograph. When they look at the autograph I still remember the question marks written on their faces. My Dad never missed a single show. Had his same since of humor too. Rip Johnny. Great memory's of good times.
When TV was TV and show where shows not as much of a propaganda farming for fear and exclusion. Yes we had news and political twists but not like we see to day . Your child hood was out side with friends and not a cold machine to dull you humanity. We lost that moment when we start needing attention more then conversation and ideas .
He was the BEST!! he did it with EASE; never missed his show,, you could not go to sleep unless you watched! 🌹🌹No one can compare!! So sad when he Retired!!! Many Tears That Night!!
❤❤Johnny Carson was the funniest late night show ,all his skits ,conversations were so funny, I could almost fall in the floor ,laughing so hard, he beats any of the other late night hosts!😊😊❤❤
Johnny Carson was, at one time, the most loved man in the WORLD....not just here, in America!! He was loved by nearly every person in show business!! His quick wit was held high in reveration, and his candid and easy-going demeanor was unriveled!! I miss this great entertainer, perhaps more than any other celebrity!! RIP Johnny!! You have positively touched millions of people's lives!!
Oh the days when comedy still existed because people would rather laugh at something instead of getting offended over everything. When talk shows could talk openly about lots of different subjects instead of being forced to only push certain narratives and ideologies and being terrified that they may say the wrong word or use the wrong pronoun.😢
It’s Bob Hope . That’s why Carson loved Rickles and Robin Williams . No notes both just winged it Hope was terribly overrated and had to use cue cards constantly.
Sooo…basically Carson was a member of the Hollywood hierarchy and during his reign he was the “shot caller!” Getting on his bad side could result in the downfall of one career…Ya’ know…Just as it is Now but without the “human sacrifices!!!”
Tom Snyder was great ! ... he was so entertaining brilliant , a lot of fun . I have a feeling Johnny was also a bit jealous of Tom Snyder because he really didn't seem to care what people thought of him . There was a more free-spirited type of fun with Tom and it always felt more like a one-man party or cocktail party with Tom Snyder . He was such a great storyteller .
The various conflicts Carson had with a number of celebrities speaks more to his ego than anything else. He simply didn't want anyone to succeed in the industry format he worked in. Seems as though he was a very insecure man. Add to that four marriages, alcoholism, adultery, and other foils and it appears fairly a straightforward yet complex deal.
I learned one thing in life you can't always make everyone happy try as you may. But at least you can say you gave it your beat shot. Were not perfect we can only try to be the best we can be. Johnny will always be King of Late Night. May he RIP
I didn't either or the horrible end . Great actor, more of a memory for me then watching Carson, too late. He was the late show because when I finally got to watch it wasn't the same.
Johnny was very wise to keep his personal life private and away from the assholes wishing to discredit him. Clearly even that was used against him. Viva La Johnny
Speaking ill of the dead is not proper. Every man has his weaknesses and troubles in his life. Why don't you do a video on Jesus Christ? On how he lived his life and the result. Do that.
who isnt an alcoholic in hollywood. every story about every actor/actress seems to be about alcoholism/addictions. there is nobody in that culture or in that circle that seem to help these folks.they work around their disease, they put up with their disease, they allow their disease. its so sad and tragic. he had so much to give and he had a presence about him like so many like him but its over-shadowed by the dark-side of addiction.
My grandmother was the one who made those curtains that he passes through every show.

I don’t want a biography I just want to know which celebrity he didn’t like!!!
The relationships between Johnny Carson and animals were always priceless. He will always be the King of Late Night television.
My fav plus elderly women who thought Johnny wanted to date them bc he made them feel so special.
I'm just sitting here wondering why Justin Bateman was shown every time Rick's name came up.
I was thinking the same thing ! Unless he was ..I am so confused?😬...

Late night television hasn't been the same since. Leno hung for a while, but that's where it ended.
Miss Carson & Leno. But u can still see Carson on Pluto. England has a great talk show host. Brain fart on his name. Sorry.
He is still missed..nobody has come close..he was one of a kind

Man I miss Johnny! Nighttime TV has never been as good.

Johnny Carson was the King, the best!
I went to bed with him every night for decades. So did millions of others ! A part of the fabric of our lives.
That's not his son they show everytime they say Rick. That's an actor
I watched Johnny Carson every night. My husband worked nights & I couldn't sleep.

4:34 Thats Jason Bateman
🐼 Big Panda Bear Hugs from a 70 yr old grandma in Texas, USA . 🐼
That’s Jason Bateman, not Johnnys kid. Also that was Joey Bishop, with Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin, not Johnny
I miss Carson

R.I.P. organic comedy and late night. We who knew you will miss you always.
Loved all his shows
HERESSSSS JOHNNNNNY
It’s Bob Hope . That’s why Carson loved Rickles and Robin Williams . No notes both just winged it Hope was terribly overrated and had to use cue cards constantly.
God bless the memories of Johnny and Joan❤️ Too bad they didn’t get along 😢
Why do they keep showing Jason Bateman when talking about his son Rick?
Off camera, he was not a nice person. Heavy drinker and a mean drunk as well.
Not Carsoni. Carnak the Magnificent.
Great work. Sep 4,2023
He was a human being not just a TV legend
He was so shy & smoked so many cigs that ended up killing him. That's human.
Sooo…basically Carson was a member of the Hollywood hierarchy and during his reign he was the “shot caller!” Getting on his bad side could result in the downfall of one career…Ya’ know…Just as it is Now but without the “human sacrifices!!!”
I hate the way the CIA took over TV.
I think that was Jane Fonda at the end not ...

Wow. I never knew Jason Bateman was Carson's son.
The various conflicts Carson had with a number of celebrities speaks more to his ego than anything else. He simply didn't want anyone to succeed in the industry format he worked in. Seems as though he was a very insecure man.

Look at all his groupies. Hard to turn down. Hard to stay grounded in Hollywood.
Well, he was an abusive alcoholic. And mean. What a catch.
Definitely Jason Bateman
I don't thunk your pics add up . James Bateman was his son?
I learned one thing in life you can't always make everyone happy try as you may. But at least you can say you gave it your beat shot. Were not perfect we can only try to be the best we can be. Johnny will always be King of Late Night. May he RIP
I've never understood Johnny Carson's appeal. Growing up, my parents watched his show. He seemed to me to be all about himself and not a bit funny.
Never knew he even drank now Jack Parr acted like he was loaded sometimes as part of his humor the guy was a riot extremely funny
Hard to imagine when he first got married that he did not live by better or and or worse.
He couldn't stand Bob Hope.
And he was Nebraska, not Iowa
Joan Rivers…hhhmmm 😮
Johnny thought she used him & that hurt his Scorpio stinger.
4:35 that's the accident? (And I didn't know Jason Bateman was his son)
I didn't either or the horrible end . Great actor, more of a memory for me then watching Carson, too late. He was the late show because when I finally got to watch it wasn't the same.
What a load of woffle
I loved Johnny Carson.

Viva La Johnny
Long way to go to get to that one person.
this sux
Okay so he was an abusive little drunk who couldn’t handle the fame. Poor baby.
Jon rivers was a two face and used Carson .....he never forgot it.
If Carson was the king then Graig Ferguson was the Emperor to me!
Volume is off

Seriously? This gentleman's post wasn't offensive nor did he speak ill of Johnny. Somebody Always has to be a "nit-picker" Geez!!
I've taught my kids this as well. "Never speak ill of the dead."
I didn’t trust him, so I didn’t watch him
I never liked Carson, leno or Letterman. They're all arrogant liberals.
